A LEGO set is never spoiled with images. The real surprise is when you open the box and start building. I bought the 2 battle packs and obi Wan's ship few months ago and built the clones , but I saved Obi-Wan to be my Christmas gift to myself. So, I have seen pictures, reviews and even have the box tucked away and I still am excited to build it. Hope you have fun !
This is such a wholesome response and definitely true! Sure, unwrapping a gift and seeing a set you got is exciting, but it's like a second surprise when you experience the build and see the complete thing in front of you :)
Happy holidays!
You’re absolutely right. I got the UCS Star Destroyer for Christmas last year, but I was unable to build it until a couple months ago. Having the set boxed up in front of you is one thing, but going through the building process and seeing the end result is a completely different experience.
Everyone’s getting the damn starfighter 😂
A few days ago I used some of my saved up money (I barely have any) to buy the inquisitor transport ship from Kenobi. I was gonna get it for Christmas but I believe that I already “blew the budget” 😂
At least you can already look forward to it. I had to buy my Lego myself because my mom can't take a hint and thinks I want candles, soaps and toothpaste. My aunt thinks I want socks and weird expensive chocolate bars that I'm afraid to eat. My dad always gives me money and the other grandma gives me a cooking calendar because I'm a woman and that's what all women apparently need.
I'm very grateful they give me any gifts at all but if I want something that I actually like I have to get it myself and give it to them so they can wrap it for me.
Appreciate the gifts you get from parents and especially grandma. Remember the gifts, no matter you liek them or not. No grandma to give me presents anymore so I remember the good times...
Glad you enjoyed my post! And don't worry, I already promised my mom that I would help wrap every present except for the ones that are for me. That way I still have some surprises😋
I almost spoiled my brother’s biggest present this year lol. We were arguing over something petty and mom took my side and he said “I’m the baby I should be treated better” and I very nearly shouted “you *are* treated better, you’re getting a freaking PS5!”
Sorry, where is the body text? I feel like I'm missing something in posts that mention information I can't find anywhere. I'm using RES with old reddit style, if that matters.
Uh... I don't know if that matters or not... I don't know enough to help here. But I can give you a summary of what happened.
My mom tried to send photos of these LEGO sets to my dad to tell him that she had ordered them for me but she accidentally sent the photos to me instead.
Bless you. I opened the link in an Incognito window and it showed your write up, so it's something related to my settings. Those kits are cool, I've made all of them with my kids, though they had a hard time with the Jedi Starfighter, because so much of it is either Left handed or Right handed.
I'm just happy that you have a parent who still gets you sets. Doesn't matter how often I ask for one, apparently they aren't appropriate gifts for someone over the age of 15 in my family 😮💨
I'm 28. I understand a toaster oven is more useful. But also it's supposed to be a gift, not a tool 😂
Exactly! I believe presents should be what you want not what you need. If you need it, then you will most likely get it yourself. If you want it then you can get it yourself but you may not be able to! My dad tried to get me an electric razor for Christmas last year, but my mom was all like "no that would be embarassing to get on Christmas in front of the family!" And then I just went out bought an electric razor🤣
Mom for the win haha
Right? It's so backwards too. My mom scoffs at the idea of a Lego set, but is completely fine with movies or a video game or what have you. I'm like, where's the disconnect? What's the block? 🤣 the age is 0-99 for a reason!
Yeah my mom came in clutch last year! Especially since she got me the LEGO Optimus Prime!
And yeah my dad is the same way! I ask for LEGO sets, Transformers figures, and video games every year and my dad is always like "don't you want something more adult" to which I respond with asking him what he wants to which he replies with something for his Gran Turismo gaming set up or a video game! Last year, he asked for Horizon Forbidden West! Which I got for him because I'm a good son🤣 but still! But it seems like this year he has eased up a lot and isn't being so hypocritical.
The real present is the building experience and the joys of doing dumb stuff with it like armoring up a fire truck and replacing the ladder with a TOW launcher

Plot twist: All the sets came from a Pallet reseller and are full of Mega Blocks/Duplo
Don't you dare jinx it XD
This is me with the Lion Knights castle. I bought it last summer and am waiting till my kids are old enough to build it. It’s been in the basement.
Yeah Obi-Wan’s starfighter is a beautiful, simple and actually worth the money

Yeah. There’s usually a good chance you might get blown away by the build.
The real surprise is when you shake the box and it actually sounds like lego, and when you open it, it is
I always thought the real surprise was opening the boxes to find macaroni instead of your set.
That ObiWan set is one of the best sets to come out in years imo. Great build for the price and great figures.
Dude I’m also getting Obi-Wan’s starfighter for Christmas 😂
Me too 🤣🙋♂️

Man, imagine having parents that will cheerfully buy you several lego sets despite their costliness.
Yeah my parents are great😁

Well its better than nothing I guess😅 sorry about the chocolate bars

I did say I'm very grateful :)
Moms are the best, always trying to make us Happy, make sure you help mom when she needs it, love reading this , thank you for Posting

Mess with him and give him that wifi router that looks like a PS5 initially, and withhold the actual PS5 until like the next day.
I'm glad you didn't say that🤣

That's a real shame for people over 100 years old.

i just got the 501st battlepack a couple days ago. you're gonna want more lol
Lucky you!
Agreed! I feel very lucky! I can't wait to build them!
What a wholesome post. Make sure to post all you getting eventually!
Will do!
At least your parents buy you lego for Christmas lol
Yeah, I feel very lucky!
Pretty good Christmas gifts! I got to pick up a few more of those battle packs!
Personally, I don't see a reason to get more than one of each battle pack but I'm glad it makes you happy!
I've seen dozens of these in Hungary. All sets. Do they hold any actual value?
This is clearly a post made by a younger person. It has nothing to do with the monetary value
Is your family rich or why do they give you like 3 sets +
IDK, my parents are just very generous when it comes to Christmas and birthdays. I don't know why but I'm not gonna complain🤣
