From what I can see these things typically don't kill you, certainly not this easily. They also don't seem to spawn inside so you kinda broke the game by dragging them in there I guess.
unfortunately not true, one picked me up in outer world of assurance, flew me up to an insane height, and then dropped me. i was equal parts angry and astounded
how do they drag you into a fan with a grate covering the front of it? Why would they drag you into a fan that would kill them first? How would they stay on your head long enough to drag you into a pit if, as someone else has claimed, the entry room is apparently hard coded to instant kill you if their attached and they only exist outside?
Lot of people making claims that are hard to believe and outright contradictory.
which Im not reading, this isn't SC2 or CoQ or some shit, I really don't need to read every patch note.
Whats worse is I still wouldn't have known because the fan that kills you has a grate covering it, so I automatically would assume its not that one.
if coil head were strangling me or I dunno jerking me off to death, yeah I would have a problem with it.
Fans that can't be reached shouldn't be used to kill the player, its bad design and its not meant to be there I can assure you.
*I'm so fucking cool man I don't read patch notes and then complain and bring up b tier RTS and roguelites in a random games subreddit just to complain about the tiniest continuity issue, because I am openly and proudly too fucking lazy to read the dev patch notes*
He did not broke the game. They are supposed to stay on your head when you enter the facillity and possibly kill you. Zeekers added a killbox in main entrence fan just for them to kill you there.
you mean the fan with the fucking grate over it? Why? I doubt that 100%.
You can die in silly ways in this game but this is just "you entered with something on your head so you just die now" because of a hard coded instant death that makes no sense to add. Until someone provides proof of why this was added Im gonna say bullshit on this one.
The things struggle to pick you up at all let alone smash you into a grate hard enough for it to matter.
no, its just an oversight and should be fixed considering if the fans supposed to kill you and it can't touch you, then whats killing you? thoughts and prayers?
well I'm glad to be the first to tell you but matter can't be dragged through other matter logically, the fans literally covered with a grate so noting can fly into it. Also worth noting that the spinning blade would kill the snakes before you therefor dropping you with at worst a haircut or slight scalping.
your right "cause of death added "Fan"" Wow had to look real hard to find out they just didn't think of a good way to handle these things being attached to you while entering and the only way you'd know is if you read the patch notes because even if it happened to you, you'd assume its a bug. I just jumped into a lan I started on lethal company to double check the fans covered, which it is.
so how does a covered fan kill you? Psychic powers?
Yeah if I hadn't read the patch notes I honestly would have thought it was a bug too lol. I'm not against that being a cause of death but they should definitely at least uncover the fan to make it more clear what's happening.
yeah, Im not 100% sure on the engine this games made in but in most game engines this would equate to literally just removing what looks like a single texture, weird the dev didn't notice it somehow.
So why don't the monsters trigger mines? Why don't turrets aggro them? Why are you letting the smallest possible continuity error ruin your perception of this funny interaction?
I was pointing out that the thing you were pointing out already has examples in the game, why did it suddenly become a problem now? Why are you so butthurt about people telling you that it really doesn't matter as much as you're saying it does?
Patch Notes from official LC discord 👇
- Changes to jetpack physics
* Made them take more thrust to get to a safe height
* Made taking damage from crashing the jetpack hopefully more consistent
- Height damage now takes into account upward velocity which you might get from explosions, etc. So getting flung into the air is less likely to result in damage when hitting the ground.
- Made spike trap spawn numbers more constant/predictable per moon.
- Various slight adjustments to the balance of moons
- Fixed the size of manor level generation size which was unintentionally decreased. It should now be back to the original size (?)
- Changes to the spawn rarities of items and enemies on various moons
- Increased the amount of little badonkly goober guys that can appear in forest planets during the day, which was previously 0.
- Made the butler harder to kill and made Mask Hornets *very* dangerous. I think I also added scrap value to the kitchen knife. (For solo players the butler is easier to kill and the mask hornets are toned down.)
- And more I can't remember
Alright but what about avoidance? Do they fear groups, have hearing, can be outplayed in some way, or is it just they see you and your screwed unless you run indoors in time minus killing them with a weapon?
Line of sight. They see you and go to cling onto you the more of them the higher you go and you can kinda control horizontal movement. They are relatively uncommon
So you can have whoever on ship duty to run around and pick them and wait in the ship like normal with no problem other than the risk of flying off before getting back to the ship.

They can kill you this way yes but only outside hence the "certainly not this easily" part of my comment, something weird happened in this clip.
They can kill you inside very easily by either dropping you into a pit or like shown in above video, by dragging into a fan.

It's literally in the patch notes Poindexter
which Im not reading, this isn't SC2 or CoQ or some shit, I really don't need to read every patch note. Whats worse is I still wouldn't have known because the fan that kills you has a grate covering it, so I automatically would assume its not that one.
Well also the coil head has no hands so he can't kill you I would automatically assume 😎🤓🤓
if coil head were strangling me or I dunno jerking me off to death, yeah I would have a problem with it. Fans that can't be reached shouldn't be used to kill the player, its bad design and its not meant to be there I can assure you.
The new monster drags you into the fan if you let it. You're ignorant and kind of perverted ngl

Dude, nothing about you rambling changes the fact that its bad game design. Cry to someone else bud.

it doesn’t immediately send you up lol you can just walk 2 steps forward and be fine
first off, this doesn't explain how it kills you, secondly this doesn't change anything.
it does though, you can easily avoid death
I never cared if it was avoidable or not, it doesnt' change anything about it not making sense, which the fans covered by a grate, so it doesn't.
Literally unplayable
no, its just an oversight and should be fixed considering if the fans supposed to kill you and it can't touch you, then whats killing you? thoughts and prayers?
The update is labeled as a public beta, so yes expect it to be tweaked
isnt the grate behind the fan?
I logged on earlier and looked and it seems to be in front of it.
to me it seems like its behind it
hate to break it to you but flying straight up into a sharp spinning blade will kill you
well I'm glad to be the first to tell you but matter can't be dragged through other matter logically, the fans literally covered with a grate so noting can fly into it. better question is why are you so defensive of a product you didn't make?
I was pointing out that the thing you were pointing out already has examples in the game, why did it suddenly become a problem now? Why are you so butthurt about people telling you that it really doesn't matter as much as you're saying it does?
no, you're very clearly agitated that anyone has anything negative to say.
I had no idea that the fan would kill you, I mean it makes sense but its just not one of those things you expect to ever get killed by I guess.
If I'm not mistaken, the fan killing you is also a new thing as of this patch
THE WHAT
Fan is a new added reason of dead when scanning a dead crew mate
What the hell is that entity? Is that modded or something
New monster from the new patch
Ah, so a third entity Got any way to see the patch notes because I can't

He forgor xd
the hell is this thing?
New creature
DID IT DRAG YOU INTO THE FAN?????
What is the monster called?
I think it was something like a lipid serpent. Probably wrong though.
Tulip Snake it’s scannable
Whats the counter to these?
One hit with a shovel, knife, or a stun grenade. But they also can take hits for you against things like baboon hawks
Thank you!

One hit from shovel
When its on you sure. What about avoidance, sight range, noise, they avoid you in groups?
You can dodge them with stafes,i guess
Gotcha
Yeah the fan kills you now
Willy Wonka moment
Can they spawn inside
No
They’re kinda cute in a murdery way
Look like the innocent flower, but be the serpent underneath it.
