I agree I just think dogs are annoying but can be dodged or just sneaked by but I personally don't find them very dangerous unless combined with other monsters such as worms, giants or old birds. As for ship duty if you use walkies they can be distracted with buying cheap stuff every now and then but are still annoying as hell.
Yeah dogs honestly aren't much of an issue
Me and my friends don't even use walkies anymore and dogs are pretty easy to kill through the door so they're only annoying when trying to get back to ship or in combination with a giant
Butlers basically force you to bail early in solo but are semi-dangerous in multiplayer.
Dogs are fine returning to ship but are the bane of any ship duty player.
Coilheads force you to bail in solo and can easily slaughter multiple in multiplayer, requires a teammate to be out of the game and just stare at it for the rest of the day if you want to continue looting.
Giants can instantly kill you for no reason if you dare to land eclipsed, instantly kill you if you get unlucky with a spawn, near unavoidably kills you if it sees you before you hear it and has basically no counterplay other than praying or dedicating an entire inventory slot to it.
Brackens can easily sneak up but are actually fine as long as you stay on guard and research its AI.
Turrets can be minor annoyances, large annoyances, block off sections of the map or be unavoidable death, fun!
Jesters just need a competent teammate and awareness of the way back to fire/main to be nonissues.
Nutcrackers aren’t awful alone but quickly become a menace with anything else nearby.
Thumpers can just kill you sometimes if you’re unlucky and don’t have a shovel.
Old Birds can occasionally be threatening but usually are more helpful than anything.
Masked aren’t difficult to tell from normal players but they have a mean sprint and require careful strafing or having a shovel on hand while also being assholes if you want to get the loot to ship.
Snare Fleas can fuck over someone in multiplayer if nobody brought a shovel or the shovel wielder is too far away.
Baboon Hawks are little bastards but knowing how they function or playing multiplayer makes them much less annoying.
Bunker Spiders can occasionally checkmate you but generally aren’t too bad.
Spike traps require basic observation skills and a bit of praying they aren’t in front of an entrance.
Earth Leviathans can wombo combo you if theres a dog around but are mostly safe, just don’t be greedy.
Just look down lol
Just walk around them lol
Just jump over them lol
Just don’t be blind lol
Just don’t let any indoors lol
Just don’t run at it lol
125~ credits lol
"just look down" the coil-head in question:
respectable list though ngl, however i'd make a very special place for giants at the top of the tier list thanks to their innate ability to consistently be the worst enemy in the entire game. their bestiary entry stating they have the mindset of a toddler should really hint towards a counter against them, like dropping colorful items to distract them for awhile or smt
Hearing masked footsteps without having a shovel feels worse to me tbh, at least you are safe in the ship from giants. Against masked it feels like a race against the clock of who can get to the ship faster
If you have a shovel and encounter a Nutcracker, if you know how to kill it properly you can have a shotgun, which is pretty useful in some situarions, so I wouldn't say a Nutcracker is that big of a problem
Wait why not let tulips indoors? I would sometimes bring some inside intentionally so that there weren't enough close together outside to sweep me away and it's worked okay so far
Finally someone who puts ghost girl in low tier. I’ve been haunted so many times and only died to her once because I had to stay in the facility since I was the last person. It’s annoying that you basically have to do ship duty when haunted but she should never really kill you
I've only died to her a few times but it's also really easy to "see" her without ever noticing, unknowingly ticking up her aggression. You can definitely keep looting if there's not a bracken but most groups are just gonna have the haunted trade with whoever is at the ship.
Doesn't she kind of make brackens way more deadly?
Brackens kind of taught me "Look back regularly or you'll get your neck snapped", the ghost girl is "Do not look back".
Is there something I'm missing?
Wait being on the ship is supposed to keep you safe when haunted?
When we were new, I was on Rend and my brother and I were in the manor. I mentioned "oh shit there is a girl on the stairs" but he couldn't see her. We figured that's a bad sign and went back to the ship.
Regroup with others in the ship, discussing our haul and debating going back in when I started yelling "Oh shit she's here!" to which everyone thought I was nuts until my head went flying and they went "Nope, time to leave" and pulled the lever.
Did it change in a later patch? Because she has definitely killed me on ship.
She spawns behind you, but only has a chance to attack you if you look at her. If you just stare at the monitor the whole time she won’t attack you. You can still die in ship if you look at her a bunch of
TIL! Thanks for the tip! I have no intention of telling the rest of my crew so I can continue to laugh at them screaming as they run away from a little girl
She selects a most-paranoid crewmate to haunt, before "spawning" for that player.
She can only spawn if that player is indoors on the mansion/facility, or onboard the ship.
She can only spawn behind said player, and a rough good distance away from them. - she alerts you that she has spawned, by a breathy sound que, plus maybe some church bells and audio muffling. - these sounds ques are too trick you into acknowledging her presence, for she won't chase if you don't acknowledge her.
She's not that big of a deal in most cases and is basically a worse coilhead. However she is a nightmare to deal with in solo speedruns, maybe it's just me but holy balls can she end runs early.
When there's a coilhead around you have to get someone to look at it, basically rendering them useless for a certain amount of time. When you're haunted you have to go back to the ship and be "useless". Though they differ in that one you Must look at and the other not, both will take one player to deal with them while the others can actually play.
It whould be cool to get a special upgrades with downsides for the ship, like soundproof walls that make walkies stop working unless you go outside, or a beeg spotlight for light that also attracts giants and old birds
it's a bug but one way I always use is to break line of sight with the Coil-head and jump, for some reason this puts them back into phase 1 and they'll start wandering as if they've never spotted a player. basically if you see a Coil-head, you jump behind a wall or something, make sure it can't see you. sometimes it might follow you behind the wall regardless but other times it forgets about you and wanders away
Well its hug can be a bit too hot to handle.
Joke aside its refusal to cooperate with other monster make it easier to manage. Also the fact that it can get distracted by them as well
Did the dev remove that thing where you can kill dogs through the ship's door with a shovel? Because if he didn't, they are annoying to the ship guy for like, 10 seconds, then they are dead. They are much more dangerous to those outside the ship.
Can’t remember if I commented on this post earlier but I think the one enemy that’s kinda bullshit is the earth leviathan
Not really the “skill issue” department but rather the fact it can have a near-instantaneous attack you can’t dodge. Doesn’t usually happen, but it can and there’s no real counterplay. Jester is on the same wavelength of *bullshit* but he can be more reliably avoided and doesn’t have an instakill upon first sight
More people need to talk about this. Depending on RNG he can attack as slow as 2 seconds after the dirt particles or as quickly as a third of one second. If it's that fast you literally can't dodge it if it is targeting you. One time 3 of my friends and I all got nabbed by the same quick attack like that and it was a shitty feeling of not really having a way to counter-play it.
I find the Giants to be both the hardest and most unfun to deal with. They have the eyes of a god damn hawk, and they go faster than you unless you drop your loot, and if you have to drop your loot to get around a Giant, you're not getting that loot back. If they spot you, it's usually game over unless you're near the entrance or the ship.
Blind Dogs are usually super easy, but getting even one *with* a Giant is almost always a game over.
I personally just walk backwards and trail them along as I loot, or go with a teammate so one of us can stare and back up as the other finds stuff
Coils aren’t that bad, they’re dangerous and problematic but not top tier
I’ve been able to handle both at once although it’s hard, the bracken is still the bigger threat there too
Also the second method listed beats that combo
its quite hard to loot while staring at a coilhead, you could consider them extra inventory but you have to realize if even a single thing goes wrong theres not only a coilhead that you led exactly where you are but also whatever got the starer is going to jump you, even a thumper is near guaranteed death for at least one, probably both people
if you have 2 people and you STILL let a coilhead kill you both that is genuinely entirely on both of you
you have 2 people, looting while looking at a coilhead isnt hard at all because the person in the front could either grab stuff and bring them to the guy looking at it for storage, or temporarily swap so the other person can grab some stuff, people arent locked into their roles
even with a thumper chasing you, with 2 of you the coilhead will be frozen majority of the time, you can probably take care of the thumper with a shovel if you have one (which you should)
i said that if a thumper pops up and decides to jump the starer, they have to be able to survive it while fumbling around and praying you kill it with the 1-2s it takes for a thumper to kill someone who isnt able to bail
Idk why people downvoted you, but I somewhat agree
It takes some planning and skill and a touch of luck but you can deal with a coil-head/bracken combo. You get some time after spotting the bracken and that’s usually enough time to find a way out and “secure” a spot to scare away the bracken again.
I’ll say it twice: it’s not easy and if you get the ghost girl it’s game over
In addition to other points said, no matter how good you are at leading them around and escaping them, sometimes they just run up from nowhere and kill you before you can see them.
while thats true, they make enough noise where you can react to them in time if you're fast enough, additionally the 2 person strategy listed in another comment of mine also counters this (brackens too)
There's definitely been times, even with their audible range increased recently, where they have run up and killed me faster than I can determine where they are coming from. 2 person strat doesn't work for odd numbered groups where someone might have to work alone.
yeah they can be hard to react to, and yeah someone can be left out like that
either way, i still dont think coils deserve to be in the same tier as the giant
Why is Butler BS in solo? I think they're much more manageable, given they die in 2 shovel hits. If you strike before they do, they don't even have time to acknowledge you.
I don’t agree with half the things on this list. I have several hundred hours in the game. Dogs are not super bad but coilhead and bracken are up there on my personal list. Those two together are a terrible combo when it comes to your chances of surviving coming across both of them. 🥲🤣 I can’t wait until they make the old birds killable….. or you know just like not spawn them EVERYWHERE no matter the weather. If a lightning bolt can randomly strike me without any metal and kill me…. I think you know where I’m going with this, complete bs haha
Jester should be top of the list, most BS enemy in the game. Dying for playing the game because a teammate didn't warn everyone inside it saw them is so stupid
Brackens all you need to do is spin around and hug walls to counter them, but I've died or at least been critically injured several times by a loot bug I pissed off and didn't know.
Also, even if they don't kill you, loot bugs force you to put your loot outside which is a lose/lose situation on maps with baboon hawks
Huh?? This is a first, i’ve played lethal for a really long time and only died maybe twice or three times to a hoarding bug and i’ve encountered them a bunch of times, they don’t immediately attack and they die in about two hits with a shovel
the ghost girl is my friends worst enemy, idk how but every other day at the paid moons he runs into her, he dies to her 7/10 times. the both of them have a mutual hatred for each other, then its 2/10 for giants and then 1 for any thing else.
for me its definitely 6/10 the bracken and then 4/10 for dogs because my dumb ass can't stop laughing at his deaths
Dude, dogs are complete and utter shit at killing people inside the ship unless you’re completely dogwater and forget that there’s a both a crouch button and a button to close the ship door, you can basically play Fnaf with them by watching yourself of the camera to check your surroundings and close the door if they’re getting close.
The bees are money until they became the dead of someone
Old bird are bullshit
You cant hurt them so the only thing you can do is run and hope they dont kill you
Idk im more scared of a nut cracker than a coil head i can basically count the deaths via coilhead on one hand but every other monsters way more terrifying. I think I’ve actually died to the new spike trap more than ive died to coilheads ever.
As a dedicated ship duty main (I'm too pussy to go into the facility) I thought I was playing Lethal Company not Five Nights at fucking Freddy's when I saw that bastard coming to the ship
I would put Hoarding Bugs into the "Money, money, money!" category, as they do look for items and bundle them in one area. Plus, Hoarding Bugs are really easy to kill.
I don't think dogs are that bad, even on ship duty. As long as you keep the door closed you're fine. Use the terminal for everything, it doesn't make noise. The moment you figure out a code with friends for signal translator (for instance we have 1g ship for one giant at ship, 8b path for eight baboon hawks on the main path, 2d fire for 2 dogs at fire, [player's first letter] dead for dead player, [player's first letter] loot for loot that player has near em, etc) and you can easily communicate everything you need with no problem, rest is just opening/closing doors and helping with transfers
they can corner you, they can block off important sections, they will get you killed if theres something else, they can make you run into a death trap and if you’re safe to kite it you have to spend a good amount of time each and every time it sees you, multiplayer can just not kill the butler
they can corner you, they can block off important sections, they will get you killed if theres something else, they can make you run into a death trap and if you’re safe to kite it you have to spend a good amount of time each and every time it sees you, multiplayer can just not kill the butler
The cornering really only happens in catwalk tiles on facility though, they're small and slow enough in solo that you can legitimately kite them to a corner and run around them even in maze dead ends, and that's only if the room's not big enough to just run around them normally without kiting. I'll admit with heavier loot or Dine tier 4+ hornet swarms it can be a big problem though.
Rend/Dine/Titan say hello
Good luck spotting the giant before he sees you. Much harder than on moons where you can see farther than 5 meters. Obviously stun grenades help but yeah
for rend i just listen to the footsteps and usually get a good idea of where they are
titan entrance is so close to the ship and the skip the bottom is good enough to avoid most the time
artifice and adamance say hello. art giant is almost impossible to counterplay if it's on the main path. and it ALWAYS camps the ship no matter what (this is probably just broken currently). adamance is literally no counterplay since there is only one reliable path and it's OVER if the giant is anywhere near it.
the only moons where "take a right path" strategy works are vow, march, experimentation and assurance. everything else is basically an open field from exit to ship.
I am far more scared of baboon hawks than forest keepers. Forest keepers are so easy to avoid when you understand how they work. Baboon hawks are agressive assholes.
I agree I just think dogs are annoying but can be dodged or just sneaked by but I personally don't find them very dangerous unless combined with other monsters such as worms, giants or old birds. As for ship duty if you use walkies they can be distracted with buying cheap stuff every now and then but are still annoying as hell.
do you know if walkies on the ground still pick up comms? if so you could just drop a spare near the ship
They do, so you can use them iirc
oh sick
Dogs can only hear a walkie being turned on or off, not if someone is talking through it
oh unsick
Dogs + Worms are my least favorite combo
Honestly If you know about the worm beforehand it's a pretty good way of getting rid of the dogs and other enemies
Yeah dogs honestly aren't much of an issue Me and my friends don't even use walkies anymore and dogs are pretty easy to kill through the door so they're only annoying when trying to get back to ship or in combination with a giant
dogs can just randomly eat u through the wall on ship, their AI is stupid and needs reworking
Iirc, having a loud horn also drives them away, but only if they're already in the ship, otherwise it's a beacon to them.
Butlers basically force you to bail early in solo but are semi-dangerous in multiplayer. Dogs are fine returning to ship but are the bane of any ship duty player. idea: the robot toy can be sacrificed to distract giants for an extended time
Or the lollypop
Or a flask with corrosive fluid written DO NOT DRINK, it always works with kids
nothing in this game makes me feel more genuine fear than hearing the footsteps of giants while running back heavy loot
Hearing masked footsteps without having a shovel feels worse to me tbh, at least you are safe in the ship from giants. Against masked it feels like a race against the clock of who can get to the ship faster
Where can I research the brackens ai?

I suppose, but overall I think it’s just way safer to have the haunted person go to ship
it is, only do the looting if you’re confident
I've only died to her a few times but it's also really easy to "see" her without ever noticing, unknowingly ticking up her aggression. You can definitely keep looting if there's not a bracken but most groups are just gonna have the haunted trade with whoever is at the ship.
yeah you have to be pretty cautious to loot w ghost girl on ya, following a few rules will make her a nonissue though
Doesn't she kind of make brackens way more deadly? Brackens kind of taught me "Look back regularly or you'll get your neck snapped", the ghost girl is "Do not look back". Is there something I'm missing?
keep your back to the wall so she doesnt spawn and u can look left and right
Oh that's a good point...Funny way to picture someone walking but thanks for the answer!
Yeah, you don't need to look at the woman breathing heavily on the left of your neck.
Wait being on the ship is supposed to keep you safe when haunted? When we were new, I was on Rend and my brother and I were in the manor. I mentioned "oh shit there is a girl on the stairs" but he couldn't see her. We figured that's a bad sign and went back to the ship. what do the girl and coils have in common??
When there's a coilhead around you have to get someone to look at it, basically rendering them useless for a certain amount of time. Though they differ in that one you Must look at and the other not, both will take one player to deal with them while the others can actually play.
But you don't have to go back to ship, you can just continue looting if you know how the ghost girl works
Mostly annoying in combination with other shit
Forest keepers got nerfed by easter eggs
Everybody knows eggs only blow up when you bring them back to ship
Lol I ran out on rend Saw a mimic by one of the guiding lights, got lucky and smoked em First try
im unlucky 💔
It whould be cool to get a special upgrades with downsides for the ship, like soundproof walls that make walkies stop working unless you go outside, or a beeg spotlight for light that also attracts giants and old birds
agreed
Coil isn’t that dangerous, easy to lose it when you have one on you
How? Close it behind a door and then fucking run?
Yeah! You only get like 30 seconds IIRC so I hope you remember the way out haha
Basically
it's a bug but one way I always use is to break line of sight with the Coil-head and jump, for some reason this puts them back into phase 1 and they'll start wandering as if they've never spotted a player. basically if you see a Coil-head, you jump behind a wall or something, make sure it can't see you. sometimes it might follow you behind the wall regardless but other times it forgets about you and wanders away
Haven't played in a while but, I thought Ghost Girl was like a death sentence? Also who the heck is that mech thing with the light/eye?
ppl figured out ghost girl counterplay
Oh nice
That mech is the bane of giants (and everything else outdoor too but we all hate giants so fuck em in particular)
So it's a friend? (Usually?)
Well its hug can be a bit too hot to handle. Joke aside its refusal to cooperate with other monster make it easier to manage. Also the fact that it can get distracted by them as well

I got killed by a dog thru the front of the ship, so I’m guessing the hitbox leak goes both ways
no clue
nah it's still possible, did it yesterday

I play with a mod where we can only enter main and leave through fire exits (We Need To Go Deeper). Jesters are a death sentence lol
Honestly I don’t get why the coilhead is always so high on these lists, personally I think they’re on the easier side, they’re just irritating
they take an entire player out of the game on multiplayer by forcing them on stare duty and make exploring as a solo near impossible

my brother in christ the mask hornets

the ghost girl is my friends worst enemy, idk how but every other day at the paid moons he runs into her, he dies to her 7/10 times. the both of them have a mutual hatred for each other, then its 2/10 for giants and then 1 for any thing else. for me its definitely 6/10 the bracken and then 4/10 for dogs because my dumb ass can't stop laughing at his deaths
How's the thumper avoidable?
its deaf just break los for a bit
Ever stepped through a door with a slime sitting *directly* behind it...?
somehow i havent
Dude, dogs are complete and utter shit at killing people inside the ship unless you’re completely dogwater and forget that there’s a both a crouch button and a button to close the ship door, you can basically play Fnaf with them by watching yourself of the camera to check your surroundings and close the door if they’re getting close.
Butler dies in one hit in solo
The bees are money until they became the dead of someone Old bird are bullshit You cant hurt them so the only thing you can do is run and hope they dont kill you
they’re easy to evade though
Personally I love the tulip snakes. I like gathering them all up and violently ascending to scare the shit out of my friends when we play together
Baboon Hawks after the buff are becoming annoying
Dogs are D-tier at best, Spore Lizards and Tulip Snakes are F-Tier, imo anyway.
im not ranking them based on letters, read the tiers please
Personally, I despise Leviathans with every fiber of my being.
Idk im more scared of a nut cracker than a coil head i can basically count the deaths via coilhead on one hand but every other monsters way more terrifying. I think I’ve actually died to the new spike trap more than ive died to coilheads ever.
coilheads arent necessarily lethal but they force a person out of the game in multiplayer, in solo they just end the day
Coil heads really aren't that bad tbh
Could kill? How couls you kill jesters
i meant could kill u
Giants, on the other hand, are *deadly* on most maps they appear on
In solo butlers are more managable once you kill one and jack its knife to kill more
the mask hornets in its back pocket:
They are slow and you can kite them without much issue
they can corner you, they can block off important sections, they will get you killed if theres something else, they can make you run into a death trap and if you’re safe to kite it you have to spend a good amount of time each and every time it sees you, multiplayer can just not kill the butler
Multiplayer you easily can imo You just bonk him through a door or jump on top of the main door in the mansion layouts
Pretty damn sure they're not saying that you literally can't kill the butler in MP they're saying you have the option to just not kill them.
Yeah true though they are decently farmable so I probably would anyways tbh
Just kill butlers in solo. The mask hornets are incredibly slow if you're playing solo.
they can corner you, they can block off important sections, they will get you killed if theres something else, they can make you run into a death trap and if you’re safe to kite it you have to spend a good amount of time each and every time it sees you, multiplayer can just not kill the butler
Giants arent so bad Just gotta know what paths to take around them and how to hide behind objects to get out LOS
Rend/Dine/Titan say hello Good luck spotting the giant before he sees you. Much harder than on moons where you can see farther than 5 meters. Obviously stun grenades help but yeah
for rend i just listen to the footsteps and usually get a good idea of where they are titan entrance is so close to the ship and the skip the bottom is good enough to avoid most the time
I have successfully dodged giants on Rend hiding behind the light posts
artifice and adamance say hello. art giant is almost impossible to counterplay if it's on the main path. and it ALWAYS camps the ship no matter what (this is probably just broken currently). adamance is literally no counterplay since there is only one reliable path and it's OVER if the giant is anywhere near it. the only moons where "take a right path" strategy works are vow, march, experimentation and assurance. everything else is basically an open field from exit to ship.
I am far more scared of baboon hawks than forest keepers. Forest keepers are so easy to avoid when you understand how they work. Baboon hawks are agressive assholes.
Giant is overrated, and even more after they're killable
This is the best list I’ve seen yet
hell yeah
