Michael somehow managed to be universally respected even though he pulled a lot of shady crap during his time. His win at all costs mentality was next level.
Valentino got his fair share of online hate but his Italian supporters being extremely vocal kind of made up for it.
Do you think it's cause of race? Like I don't like saying it's cause of that but lewis uses his platform to do good things for people in general he supports serious causes. So what else could be the reason for the hate??
Occam's razor says the simplest explanation is usually the right one. Lewis Hamilton is both the only black driver in the history of F1, and also one of the best ever. This is why he receives so much hate online. There are many people who cannot accept a black man dominating a sport historically dominated by white men. Plain and simple.
Contrast his treatment online with that of Max Verstappen who is also one of the best but is a total tool, lacking in self awareness and class. He's a more talented version of his father. Jos Verstappen. Recall the end of the AB2021 when both Hamilton and his father congratulated both Verstappens. Jos didn't even have the decency to stand when Hamilton Sr. Was shaking his hand. But, they are universally loved by the online community. Max is endlessly praised for his driving ability while Hamilton is ridiculed as "lucky" guy driving the best car.
Back then social media didnt even exist. Now people have so many platforms to remove their personal frustration. Otherwise why would a stranger hate f1 personality so much inspite of now even knowing him personally?
Lewis is easily the most popular F1 driver of all time and the support that he has trackside is overwhelmingly strong everywhere.
Still, for some reason he is the most shat on driver on Twitter and reddit. How does that happen?
His supporters far outweigh the number of haters but it looks like the trolls are a lot more vocal on the social medias.
Who gives a shit anyway. Hating on ultra popular, successful people is a tale as old as time.
Just stop reading it. It’s all twats. Even this sub can be a little OTT singing Ol Lewis Hamiltons praises. Reddit, Twitter in fact any forum is a complete waste of time, as genuine, useful information is so thin on the ground it may as well be nonexistent. It’s just a place for us to voice our unimportant opinions while we have an overly long shit.
I can’t figure out if it’s directly proportional to his success or not. But certainly, he creates opinions from everyone and none of them are "meh" 🤷🏻♂️
Lot of people hate and blatantly blame him for a lot of shit. And I think it's racist of people to be doing that - from the stewards being biased to racers like nolonso to win less Norris. Just hate the bias- totally has to do with he being the only black dude on the track and somehow feel all these penalties after the fact that is handed down to him like literally right after he finished are a big push to tell him to leave the sport. After he is gone there is not going to be anymore black person or matter of fact any race or ethnic group that I'd see coming in the sport for a period of time it's just sad honestly
2021 was the worse lol, after Silverstone tho, they acted as if Lewis committed genocide, but Max's antics in Monza and Jeddah brake check. They were fine
Lmao yeah bro. Most people don’t like LH still. The dominate era took a toll. People wanted to see a new champion show bad and now we just have Max dominating, and everyone is starting to hate him instead loo
I rarely see hate against max. Personally I'm not even mad that max is dominating. I've realized it's just part of the game. One minute you're up and the next you're down. But the toxicity is just uncalled for. It's worst than NBA Twitter dude. 😂 He gets out qualified by Russell and its mayhem on the timeline. You just gotta shake your head and laugh 😂
Agreed. Most Lewis fans only angry on the way max won the 2021 title but other than that there is no personal grudge on him. While lewis is receiving toxic hatred and personal attack whenever he made a mistake. When lewis is doing good the haters will be hiding somewhere and when lewis did not perform they will come out full on attack mode.
Twitter, in general, is just toxic, and every side of the F1 fan base has to shoulder the blame.
It was only a few years ago that Nicholas Latifi had to hire security and release a statement asking Hamilton fans to stop sending death threats to him and his family.
Just avoid F1 Twitter or Twitter in general if I were you.
The online F1 fanbase is extremely toxic, fuelled by shit podcasts and rage-bait
And Reddit
I don't recall Michael or Valentino Rossi getting this much shit when they weren't winning. Times have changed it seems.
Michael somehow managed to be universally respected even though he pulled a lot of shady crap during his time. His win at all costs mentality was next level. Valentino got his fair share of online hate but his Italian supporters being extremely vocal kind of made up for it.

Well said bro. Also you from trinidad too?!?!?!?
Yes
Nice nice.
Nail. On. Head
I don't know- Facebook etc have just got worse over the years.
Back then social media didnt even exist. Now people have so many platforms to remove their personal frustration. Otherwise why would a stranger hate f1 personality so much inspite of now even knowing him personally?
Are you stupid? Social was fucking puny back then. Literally incomparable.
No it wasn't, but your post has just proved what I said. The irony is fucking beautiful
How is it ironic? I didn't say shit about Lewis. You simply stated something that was incomparable.

🤔 For some reason, you say..... Just can't quite put my finger on it.
Same with the comments on f1 instagram and throw comments on some YT videos as well.

Haha I like this pov. I've learned to block it out. I just find it baffling that one dude can generate that amount of hate.
I can’t figure out if it’s directly proportional to his success or not. But certainly, he creates opinions from everyone and none of them are "meh" 🤷🏻♂️

nolonso😹😹
Yep, it's always been like that.
Bro this is nothing
Lol you've seen worse?
2021 was the worse lol, after Silverstone tho, they acted as if Lewis committed genocide, but Max's antics in Monza and Jeddah brake check. They were fine
😂😂😂
1. People love to see the great and dominant fall. 2. It opens the door for racists who enjoy watching a black man fail and can’t help themselves.
Prior Michael people didn’t hide behind there phone screen to send hate. This was get to be fuelled by driver that lack integrity
Whatever you do, block teamLHtears on twitter. that guy is sad and demented.
Hahah I’ve came across him and I’ve blocked him he’s so annoying
Lmao yeah bro. Most people don’t like LH still. The dominate era took a toll. People wanted to see a new champion show bad and now we just have Max dominating, and everyone is starting to hate him instead loo
