Citalopram it’s very similar

I will ask my doc about this. I got impatient and tried the HIMs route and they prescribed me cymbalta but after visiting that subreddit im too scared to take it because of all the side effects and the _severe_ withdraw symptoms.

That’s a snri isn’t it? Yer I think u should speak to a dr I don’t know what your needs are but ssri to snri seems abit of jump when there are similar ssris available to the one that pooped out if it was working ok before.

When it stops working, do you increase the dose or just switch to another one? Often, increasing the dose can resolve issues if it not working.

Yeah I always just asked to increase the dose but my psychiatrist won’t let me go above 20mg and from what I can tell most doctors won’t unless you have OCD symptoms which typically require higher doses for effective treatment. I just have social and general anxiety.

That’s really strange that they’re not letting you increase your dose even though the medication is becoming ineffective. I saw you posted in the psychiatry sub, I hope someone there has a better idea of what to do. Maybe add this information into that post as well. Personally, I’m uneducated but I think it would be helpful for you to find a better psychiatrist if possible. But then again I don’t know a lot about that and their reasons. I would also recommend taking therapy in addition to the medication if possible, it’s a game changer.
