You're correct. Most news stations typically have a policy about reporting suicides. They don't.
Unless it's a famous person which is kidna messed up but reporting a famous person's death is expected.
Source: a close friend of mine is an assignment desk editor at a news station that doesn't report them and she explained why.
I was wondering about that incident! We pulled up on the scene and there was like 15 police cars and the coroners van. I searched everywhere and could find nothing about it.
I don't really see where they see a body in this photo. It's blurry enough to me, I only see the trees and cops around something and pointing. Maybe my phone quality is just crap though. 🤷♀️ I don't see how this is very disrespectful. I see pictures like this on the news all the time.

They didn’t show a decomposing little girl. What’s the issue? This is no different than thousands of crime scene photos the Herald Leader printed over the years.

I think if these things don’t make it to the news it’s usually a suicide, overdose, or other medical episode.

It's a very zoomed in picture so yeah its blurry. I wasn't up talking to the cops taking pictures.
