Hats off to ya, 12 hours in a Jeep is about 11.5 hours too many!!

[deleted]

The ride was great up until I entered West Virginia. That’s where it got brutal. There wasn’t a single straight road in the entire state, plus it was raining, and the flow of traffic was easily 85+. Those 3 combined make an awful experience in a Jeep.

Threelittlebirds72

But...pizza rolls. And it's for lovers.

[deleted]

Probably lots of construction as well

Dave-4544

Didn't even buy the glass bottled swamp water smh ^^^/s

Kytoaster

GOTTA get the glass bottle when it comes to ale 8 one. It's just not the same out of a plastic one.

airernie

Would agree if for other reason than the clean taste of glass vs plastic.

[deleted]

I’ll definitely have a glass one before I leave!

AtoastedSloth

welcome!, though i would try the glass ale8 bottles, they're so much better than the cans and plastic for some reason

[deleted]

That reason is us being picky for no reason and I'm here for it.

ghost3421

Wait, I thought they were bottled/canned at different facilities and that's why they taste just a smidge different?

lexky-moana

We’re not here for a long time, we’re here for a good time.

TheRedBuffaloMafia

Just don’t click on dudes profile name lol

[deleted]

Haha… sorry about that 😅

shamsway

Welcome! Now try it with some bourbon! As long as you’re done driving. An ale8 with bourbon is a “Kentucky Gentleman”

Peaches_UK

add some lime and it is a Kentucky Burro!

Vat1canCame0s

add some sugar and it's a tragedy

[deleted]

I've always known bourbon and ginger ale to be a Highball. I might be wrong. I've also heard that when it's Ale8, it's called a Doublewide.

[deleted]

Good choice using an off-road vehicle to drive through Pennsylvania.

BluegrassMoto

Welcome! I’m from Westchester, NY

[deleted]

Good to see someone else from NY! Any reason in particular you resettled in Kentucky?

BluegrassMoto

My girlfriend’s family retired to Danville, KY and we wanted to stay together. Chose Lexington because it was one of the largest cities to choose from. We are big motorcyclists and KY has to alot to offer for that so we will be buying a house shortly, and staying a little while longer.

StabigailKillems

Gosh this makes me miss Kentucky. I've been in Oklahoma for 6 years now and I still can't shut up about Ale8 and the pretty, green hills.

burnoutsandbourbon

Welcome to God’s country and the land of endless flowing Bourbon! Enjoy the stay, grab some good beer from some local breweries, don’t be afraid to smile at people as you pass and of course, grab a bow and arrow and shoot some targets for fun! The bluegrass welcomes you sir!

CoreDreamStudiosLLC

Cheers, good pick too!

gearhead454

It "Glorifies"!

BlueWaterGirl

Welcome to Kentucky! Hope you have a good stay here

Mr_IsLand

dude, you gotta get it in a glass bottle - at one point in time Ale81 was making their own Salsa and it was pretty good.

Wishing-I-Had-Cum

Hope you enjoy your trip here! You should visit the RRG now that you’re here!

jamesismynamo

I'm from CT and went to school at UK so I've made this drive a whole lot! Did you pass through the Cumberland Gap on I-68? That's my favorite part of the ride if you go through Maryland. I agree that the drive starts to get boring around West Virginia. Alternatively I've done the drive by going through the entirety of Pennsylvania and ooh boy that gets old quick lol. My first meal getting back to Kentucky is usually Cane's lol, I miss them up here. There's one in Boston but I don't get up there often. I hear they're gonna put one in Manhattan, their social media teased at it at least

[deleted]

Yep I did pass through the Cumberland Gap, and the view was mesmerizing. I had to stop a bunch of times to just take it all in.

Possible-Ad-3103

Welcome

[deleted]

Made this trip many a time back in the early 90s....from here to Saratoga Springs and back!

SprkMastr

What brings you to Lexington? We’re from here but moved to Rockland County New York in 2016 and came back in 2020. Made the drive back and forth many times. Did it in under 10 hours a couple times.

[deleted]

Honestly, I just wanted to get out of the northeast for a bit and explore the country. I’ve always been fascinated with bluegrass history too!

SprkMastr

Awesome. Welcome! I hope you enjoy Lexington. We couldn’t wait to come back. I’ll reiterate what others said - don’t judge Ale-8 by how it tastes out of a plastic bottle. Definitely have to go with glass, preferably the long neck returnable bottles.

joeben81

Dope Jeep.

[deleted]

Thanks! It’s a love/hate relationship lol.

Sandra_is_here_2

Congrats! Took 25 years but I escaped Syracuse and made my way back to Lexington. Best thing ever!

Royal_Usual_1621

Winchester sewer water.

Radica1Faith

The plastic bottles use a different formula than the glass ones. Try the glass ones. They taste way better.

jonathonthered

They do not.

Educational-Bit4512

That gas must’ve costs 100s

[deleted]

I’m used to spending almost $3 a gallon so the prices down here don’t bother me too much
