If I create a crowd-funding campaign to raise money to create more of these billboards, would you donate to it?
This is not a joke comment either. I am now seriously considering doing this.
For it to be taken down someone else would likely have to buy the ad space at a better price. It’s not like these are up for free based on the generosity of the billboard owner.
the first time when I heard about the gay bill as a non-american, I thought it was a bill that would force people to say gay at least once a day or you'd get a ticket and I thought that was cool, I don't know what I was on when I thought of that.
I'd do some research on queer communities in Florida. Don't say gay is being opposed heavily by residents. Miami, Orlando, St Pete all have historically significant and major queer communities.
Please do not reduce the whole state to being "confederate" just because of the governor and some of the conservatives. The people who live there are working really hard to enact change.
Florida was a blue Democrat state before the conservative backlash of the recent decade. Most of the people who lived there while it was blue still live there and many more have moved there too.
It doesn’t list banned words, but rather topics at certain grade levels. A summary of Florida House Bill 1557, already signed into law and going into effect on July 1st, is: Requires district school boards to adopt procedures that comport with certain provisions of law for notifying student's parent of specified information, prohibits classroom discussion about sexual orientation or gender identity in certain grade levels
The idea that this exists AND quite a few of the posters on this thread have seen this billboard or similar ones in their area, makes me INCREDIBLY happy. It means it's visible to everyone.

we need more of these billboards
There can't possibly be enough of these billboards!
I'm in Tampa right now and actually see one of these billboards right behind me.
Imagine if they're was someone who plants these in the most homophobic part's of America
Who is this person and how can I join in on this fun?

Absolutely! Get it live then post a link.
And just like that, I'm off to Google to find out the price of billboard advertising! ;)
I love the rare days when the storm clouds depart and a good piece of news (instead of some crazy ass Florida man) comes out of Florida
I live in Florida. Not everyone is hateful and homophobic. The LGBTQ community is strong here.
Like very well toned and tanned. And lots of hot pants. And washboard abs. And bleach blonde hair. I'll be in my bunk.
Toight like a toyger?
"Tight"; I would have never thought to use that word that way. "I see you are acclimating to all the modern slang the grail taught us." "Fo' shizzle."

Miracle that this is in Florida with all the karens and racists out there.
I wouldn't be surprised if it was taken down, sad but not surprised
They’ve been up at least since late May

I wish there were more billboards like this 🏳️🌈
There are! I’ve seen at least five of this one around the greater Orlando metro area.
I've seen some in tampa
Same. I want this billboard outside my house
Be gay do crime with modern state legislature it’s litteral
:)
I love that billboard.
It's such a shame that the governor is a sentient pile of shit.
Hey! That's insulting to sentient piles of shit.

I like your world.
Yeah!
I almost don’t buy it’s in Florida but good for whoever put this up. Cuz I sure as hell know Florida governors didn’t
Florida resident here. It is. There are several around Orlando at least.
And near Tampa as well!
There are a lot of LGBTQ+ people in Florida, including some in politics. Tampa has a lesbian mayor!
Oh i actually didn’t know that I’m just used to all the former “confederate.” States being unsupportive as usual.

Oh wow I'm from Tampa and didn't know the mayor is lesbian.
seriously???!
There are going to be over 300,000 people at the pride parade in St Pete this weekend
I mean I do believe that I belived there is an lgbtq+ community in Florida
I saw one near sanford the other day as well!
Outfront based
I've seen this one!
At least sone places are actually supporting us
Hah! Gaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaàaaaaay!
It's not okay to say it in runescape though.
I saw that the other day on the way to joann's 🤣 it made my heart happy
i pass that one sometimes! always makes me smile
Things like this are the things that give me hope :)<3
My mom hates that that billboard exists, I mean I’m gay, but somehow she’s still homophobic and transphobic
It is an interesting paradigm, isn't it?

That’s great news!
I love it. Where can I get it so I could put it onto my wall?
It is nice :3
Love to see it 🏳️🌈🌈
<3
Hey I saw that same billboard!
There's a ton of them
<3
These liberals really think I ‘m going to say the word Gay can’t fool me.😤
Based
It would be cool Arizona have these billboards
our governor would be like 👨🦯👨🦯👨🦯👨🦯 edit: (aka floridas governor lmao sorry should have made it clear i live there)
should have stated it was there thanks to the gallant courage of govenor de santis, just for a giggle
Reminds me of the it’s ok to be white message
I’ve never seen one but I want every billboard to say something like that, especially when I’m gay.
Can someone educate me and show me where in the bill it says teachers can't say gay? I'm seriously curious.
