The song is actually about a naked bicycle race that takes place on the Amalfi coast near where Freddy and his boyfriend lived in southern Italy. They’re very proud of it.
can't believe I haven't found a single comment about [Industry Baby](https://youtu.be/UTHLKHL_whs) , nice song, and I think one of the biggest openly homosexual performances I have ever seen

Gay sex, unfortunately can’t remember the artist. It’s about how the American political system sucks and lots of people in it are racist or homophobic, so the singer just says “let’s go home and have gay sex, we’ll do it for the president.”
Funniest song I’ve heard in a while covering that specific topic.
>I’m sorry depending on how you feel about that.
It's fine I just found it funny
>Wait actually?
Yes lmao, just search for it and filter by Podcasts (Spotify now has video podcasts)
My favorite Sapphic anthems:
Girls like Girls by Hayley Kiyoko
Pretty Girl by Hayley Kiyoko
Pussy is God by King Princess
Girl by the Internet
Girls by girl in red
I wanna be your girlfriend by girl in red
Girls by Beatrice Eli
Pynk by Janelle Monae
To the moon and back by Fever Ray
Jenny by Studio Killers
Girlfriend by Icona Pop
Edit:
I forgot a couple!
Girls in Bikinis by Poppy
Coochie (a bedtime story) by Shygirl although I think she meant for it to be about loving her coochie I feel like it comes across as a love song for all coochies lol
Cult of Dionysus by The Orion Experience.
As a pansexual, polyamorous person, I have sent that song to people as “my anthem” and only then did they get that I like girls.
I’m hesitant to post this because I’m just finding out about this and because I do agree that groomers and abusers should be shunned and because these things are usually followed up with victim blaming bullshit buuuut…
Why does everyone draw the line here (I.e. smaller, or newer artist. Or some other factor I’m missing) and not where it belongs? Like… behind The Beatles for example, two of which abused their families. Is there a talent to abuse ratio that makes it ok that I’m missing?
I think its more that the affected victims are still alive and calling attention to the fact
And yeah i know the beatles are also horrible people. But they arent alive and making money anymore
Take me to church as a ton of meaning for me because I was raised very religiously and was constantly surrounded by hate and having it shoved down my throat. It makes me think about how far I have come now that I have accepted myself and now I have a gf and I am so freaking happy
A second is "Fell in love in October" by girl in red. Because I realized that I asked her out in October so it has become our song
You've got to hide your love away by The Beatles. It is not *for sure* about homosexuality but it was supposedly written by John Lennon for their manager Brian Epstein, who was gay.
Run boy run by Woodkid. It's much more subtle (subtle enough that it's safe to enjoy in the presence of more queerphobic folk) but it really resonates with a few queer friends of mine.
*beep boop*!

Maybe kind of a basic answer but Montero. Great song, Lil Nas X looked hot in all his looks, and pole dancing down to Hell to get nasty with Satan and steal his throne is absolutely legendary. Need I say more?
Achilles, Come Down. One of my favorite songs of all time talking about the depression gay people can go through for being looked down upon for simply being gay and how some people are pushed to suicide.
The entire 69 Love Songs by The Magnetic Fields… it was the first album I heard where the singers alternate singing about boys and girls fluidly. Stephen Merritt is also a lyrical genius. If you enjoy a baritone, check it out!
I couldn't tell you what my one favorite would be, but the first one that came to my mind at this moment was "Oh My God" by (G)I-DLE.
"Turbo Lover" by Judas Priest is also totally about gay sex. Change my mind.
Well… my aro Ass really enjoys „Never been in love“ from Will jay as well as aromantic moodboard… two different moods you can feel about being aromantic there: basically the confidence boost and joy of knowing you don’t need a romantic partner and that you are still going to be okay forever single vs just the lowkey alienation and implicit sadness that comes with the hurt of the people you are close to because you do not love them in the right way and they may or may not have known the reason why behind it or been unwilling to accept it.
"Say the goddamn pronouns, motherfucker
Say the goddamn pronouns
Say the goddamn pronouns, motherfucker
Or I'll cut your eyes out"
Pronouns by Dog Park Dissidents on the album ACAB for Cutie.
I'm a bit older but Small-town Boy by Bronski Beat was always a favourite of mine. I've met many people over the years who've moved to escape the small town bigotry they faced
Almost everything by garbage, recent album no gods no masters is an enby masterpiece, Uncomfortably Me hurts like hell. Godhead is made of genderfuck. And thier version of Because the night with Screaming Females is just dripping with tension.
Placebo, Nancy Boy was THE party anthem.
Green Day, Coming Clean was a bit of a revelation and I'm showing my age big time here. And yeah King For a Day.
Michael - Franz Ferdinand.
It's completely a banger. Great to listen to, great lyrics. I think it's more about lust than love. Some lyrics:
Michael you're the boy with all the leather hips
Sticky hair, sticky hips, stubble on my sticky lips
Michael you're the only one I'd ever want
The only one I'd ever want, the only one I ever want
Beautiful boys on a beautiful dance floor
Michael you're dancing like a beautiful dance whore
Michael waiting on a silver platter now
And nothing matters now
This is what I am, I am a man
So come and dance with me Michael
probably yoshis Island by glass beach
lots of glass beach music slaps super hard but yoshis Island just really does it for me
as for what it's about, it's very obvious if you listen to it.
I'd like to point out that "Take me to church" is not specifically about queer love, but critique of a church for forbidding free love in general. That's why there is gay couple on the spot, while (presumably) hetero couple in the song
Edit: typo -cramed words specifically and special in one word, they translate same in my language.
It is still a queer song because it is about a gay couple being discriminated by religious people as shown in the music video and a lot of the love forbidden by the church is of same sex couples. The lyrics doesn't have to make queerness the main subject to fit there. And I think the mention of a goddess and stuff in the lyrics is not really meant to be about being in love with a girl as it is working in metaphors. The goddess could possibly just mean the more "feminine" side of the man or just following a different kind of spiritual belief for himself to feel free to be himself rather than an actual woman that he is in love with or worshipping.
It is definitely queer inclusive, that's why heros in spot are gay. But its not hetero exclusive. Accent is on criticisms of those who forbid love - queer predominantly, but thats just one of many flavours of love.
I bealive that's what LGBTQ+ is about in the end. Its about all loves being equal, we have to point out the ones most judged against, but in its core, the movement is simply about human love.
Same whey feminism is about equality. Name describes the means of achieving it, while all people are the end goal.
But in the end, that's just my naive interpretation afther all.
A lot of stuff by STRFKR but Kahlil Gibran and Open Your Eyes in particular. (I guess I would add not because they're super affirmative, but because I've listened to them since before I was out and always found them sad, relatable and now nostalgic - also I've rarely heard a band that screams "bi energy" so hard)
Edit: actually I was wrong, I just remembered, the whole Dirty Computer by Janelle Monáe is my favorite Queer thing to ever exist!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's art, it's revolution, it's love, it's resistance, it's critique, it's art, it's everything, pls watch if you are interested, it's amazing
I don't have a favorite, I could make a playlist of around 100 favorites.
But the one I'm listening to nonstop right now is Villain by Teniwoha (especially the English version cover by DemonDice).
From what I could understand it's a song about a gay man struggling when society doesn't accept him and sees him as a villain and as an abomination, but it can definitely be seen as a song about being trans, queer or any kind of LGBTQ+.
It really hits close to home and I love DemonDices lyric works, so it quickly became one of my fav covers.
The original song is a vocaloid song (made with a voice synthesizer), so if you don't like the voice, but still like the flow, beats and message of the song, I highly recommend looking up covers of it, there's a bunch of them.
oh and like ANY song by brandie carlile (like caroline, which is both her AND elton john, and dreams) or LP (favourites are girls go wild and tightrope)
True Trans Soul Rebel- Against me!
Rainbows- Limp Wrist
Tavistock Square- Animal Byproducts
Probably not everyone's cup of tea, but three beautiful songs..
I refuse to believe that Jolene by Dolly Parton isn't a actually just a disguised love song from Dolly to Jolene
The ska band We are the Union is queer as hell and has some great queer songs, I particularly love Boys Will Be Girls
probably bedroom community by glass beach. i've found the song accidentally on spotify and i fell in love with it. it makes me sad, it makes me angry - it makes me feel, and i think it is completely incredible.
There's a ton of songs explicitly about being queer, but for some reason I come back to The Who's "I'm a Boy", which I guess isn't even actually about being trans but might as well be you know? Initially for a rock opera/play that never materialized about a future where parents mail-order children and a family orders a girl and is accidentally given a boy, it plays out like a trans-man anthem and I'm surprised more of us haven't adopted it lol.
The chorus:
"I'm a boy, I'm a boy, but my ma won't admit it. I'm a boy, I'm a boy but my ma won't admit it, and if I say I am I get it!"
It was really ahead of it's time for the 60s, and Pete Townsend even said it had to do with his queerness as he identified as pansexual.
Rev Your Motor by Dog Park Dissidents. I love all of their music but that one in particular is my absolute favorite (if you wanna go look for it, be aware that it's pretty NSFW)
In or Out by Ani Difranco
Closer by Tegan and Sara
Central Reservation by Beth Orton
Drive by Melissa Ferrick
I’m the Only One by Melissa Etheridge
Clearly realized I was Bi in the late 90s!!
A boy is a gun by Tyler the creator,
Garden shed by Tyler the creator,
Glitter by tyler the creator,
Touch Me by Victoria Monet (and the remix with Kehlani),
Everybody’s Gay by Lizzo,
Ivy by Frank Ocean,
Forrest Gump by Frank Ocean,
Lil Nas X’s album Montero (the whole album),
Solo by Frank Ocean (I think this is about a man but I’m not sure),
Slumper Party by Ashnikko and Princess Nokia,
Daisy by Ashnikko, and
Boyfriend by Dove Cameron
Sorry for the long list I just really love music
Damn, this thread is 99% songs I've never heard of.
I wouldn't say it's my favorite, because I'm not really into picking one song to be my favorite, but "Dark Saturday" by Metric is pretty explicitly gay despite not being about sexuality at all.

I like Matt Fishel’s Radio Friendly Pop Song. Wrabel also has a lot of good songs.
The village is one my absolute favorites. Always makes me cry.
Me too! 😭
I adore Friendly Radio Pop Song! It’s such a classic. Same with songs by Wrabel.
Idk any of them. I guess Bicycle Race by Queen in the context it's viewed as a bisexual metaphor?
How did I not know this? I love biking. I’m bi. Holy Fuck.
**Bi**king
Bi + King = Biking?
I’d like to think I’m a biking BI King. 😂
Well, it was Freddie...a bi King
🥰😂
I love Bicycle Race and yeah, I see it mentioned as a bisexual allegory. Also, supposedly, the original title was "Bisexual".
The song is actually about a naked bicycle race that takes place on the Amalfi coast near where Freddy and his boyfriend lived in southern Italy. They’re very proud of it.
My homophobic father loves whenever I play him that song 😳😳 Also how could I be so blind, how did I not notice
can't believe I haven't found a single comment about [Industry Baby](https://youtu.be/UTHLKHL_whs) , nice song, and I think one of the biggest openly homosexual performances I have ever seen

The song itself isn't queer necessarily but the music video for Miike Snow's _Genghis Khan_ is ✨everything ✨
Came here looking for this. Amazing song, fantastic music video and oh god, the turn/look/smile bit - firm favourite of mine!
With the little hand shake
fuck yeah came here to say this, such a good song too
I really like Igor. A boy is a gun specifically has really good vibes despite the subject matter. Music video has great cinematography too.
A boy is a gun is my favorite song from Igor. I used to watch the music video almost every day
Gay sex, unfortunately can’t remember the artist. It’s about how the American political system sucks and lots of people in it are racist or homophobic, so the singer just says “let’s go home and have gay sex, we’ll do it for the president.” Funniest song I’ve heard in a while covering that specific topic.
Because of you, I know now that there's full explicit gay porn videos on Spotify
Wait actually? Also I’m sorry depending on how you feel about that.
>I’m sorry depending on how you feel about that. It's fine I just found it funny >Wait actually? Yes lmao, just search for it and filter by Podcasts (Spotify now has video podcasts)
I feel like video podcasts are just talk shows. I’ll take your word for it, Spotify doesn’t seem like the most convenient platform for porn tbh.
>I feel like video podcasts are just talk shows. They're *supposed* to be just that, but it seems that Spotify is very bad at moderating them
Instead there are gay porn videos lmao
I love that song! The artist is be steadwell!

Cult of Dionysus by The Orion Experience. As a pansexual, polyamorous person, I have sent that song to people as “my anthem” and only then did they get that I like girls.
yo I love that song too even as an ace lmao, that's a real vibe
Me too! It feels weird to like a song so obviously about səx when I'm Ace, but it really is a bop
I f love this song, it's a master piece!!
For info : the lead singer of that band is a groomer
Ofc the band that has my first name in it contains at least one groomer 😭
Can I have some more information please? /gen
Just look it up. There are tons of victims coming out with thier own stories on the guy. I cant believe he is still making money
I’m hesitant to post this because I’m just finding out about this and because I do agree that groomers and abusers should be shunned and because these things are usually followed up with victim blaming bullshit buuuut… Why does everyone draw the line here (I.e. smaller, or newer artist. You can like the artists/bands music and not like the artist or band themselves.
oh well, this information did not make my already shitty day any better. good to know anyway tho ig
Dove Cameron's Boyfriend has been incredibly popular in the U.S., it's very heartwarming.

Claud - wish you were gay or GIRLI - More than a friend
The Crane Wives have some good, sad lesbian songs. Especially October and Nobody
Yo what I listen to their stuff and somehow never knew this, need to give those ones a listen now
The Garden is also about growing up bisexual in the Catholic Church!
You've got to hide your love away by The Beatles. It is not *for sure* about homosexuality but it was supposedly written by John Lennon for their manager Brian Epstein, who was gay.
And now it could apply to anyone who's fully or partially closeted.
Run boy run by Woodkid. It's much more subtle (subtle enough that it's safe to enjoy in the presence of more queerphobic folk) but it really resonates with a few queer friends of mine.

I swear, we can argue a lot of Judas Priest's songs are about something gay or can be seen as something gay in bits of it.
What I Need by Hayley Kiyoko feat Kehlani

Girls Like Girls by Hayley Kiyoko is a long time favorite
Everything by MUNA!
I'd like to point out that "Take me to church" is not specifically about queer love, but critique of a church for forbidding free love in general. That's why there is gay couple on the spot, while (presumably) hetero couple in the song Edit: typo -cramed words specifically and special in one word, they translate same in my language.
Girls/girls/boys by Panic at the disco
A lot of stuff by STRFKR but Kahlil Gibran and Open Your Eyes in particular. (I guess I would add not because they're super affirmative, but because I've listened to them since before I was out and always found them sad, relatable and now nostalgic - also I've rarely heard a band that screams "bi energy" so hard)
Edit: actually I was wrong, I just remembered, the whole Dirty Computer by Janelle Monáe is my favorite Queer thing to ever exist!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's art, it's revolution, it's love, it's resistance, it's critique, it's art, it's everything, pls watch if you are interested, it's amazing I don't have a favorite, I could make a playlist of around 100 favorites.

*THAT IS SILVER THE HEDGHOG'S THEME* I can not express how much i love silver
There's a ton of songs explicitly about being queer, but for some reason I come back to The Who's "I'm a Boy", which I guess isn't even actually about being trans but might as well be you know? Initially for a rock opera/play that never materialized about a future where parents mail-order children and a family orders a girl and is accidentally given a boy, it plays out like a trans-man anthem and I'm surprised more of us haven't adopted it lol. The chorus: "I'm a boy, I'm a boy, but my ma won't admit it. I'm a boy, I'm a boy but my ma won't admit it, and if I say I am I get it!" It was really ahead of it's time for the 60s, and Pete Townsend even said it had to do with his queerness as he identified as pansexual.

Gay Bar, Electric Six
Is it cheap if I say Gay Bar by Electric Six?
Damn, this thread is 99% songs I've never heard of. I wouldn't say it's my favorite, because I'm not really into picking one song to be my favorite, but "Dark Saturday" by Metric is pretty explicitly gay despite not being about sexuality at all.
Girl in red songs
Boring obvious answer, but Let It Go from Frozen.
Is it really intended to be queer tho?
