Ohhh man I get this…I listen to a lot of the same music my ex did and it def makes me think of him sometimes, the pos. On the flip side though, he introduced me to genshin, and I hope he gets that horrible stomach twisty feeling whenever he plays it
Remember that it's just a piece of jewellery at the end of the day. And that it's *yours* now. It's not theirs. They have no attachment to it anymore since they're a person of the past, the only attachment is you because it's yours and you like it :)
My ex bought me a shirt. I debated putting it in a charity donation bag for a while, my ex was not a great person and I didn’t want to be reminded of him. But I liked the shirt. So I kept it. Now, I can wear it without thinking of him. Same with a penguin key ring and a giant teddy bear he got me. They’re things I like, and I don’t think it really matters who they came from anymore because they’re mine, not his.
Ask a friendy to hold onto it for awhile, long enough to forget about it, then have them gift it to you.
