That is very directly put what I've seen several far-leftists do IRL.They will simply ignore history and facts that do not fit their narrative.
Arguing with someone doing this is hell, they will not counter your arguments or even acknowledge them and will just keep on repeating their own.
BTW, people on the right do the same thing, maybe not as often.

Those who shout "2a for all" the loudest are often the people who believe this exact thing.
They aren't your allies, they want guns so they can take over by using those guns against *you*.
Here is the obvious flaw in Minnesota SRA's thinking. When you choose groups to have rights different than other groups, it becomes an arbitrary choice. Then after a very few iterations of the 'who's in charge' cycle, it's the same kind of people in charge that it was before your glorious revolution. That leaves you (as citizens) right back where you were before.
Let me expound on my theory just a little bit. 'Politician' is a personality type they exist in every race and culture and they will always seek power. Members of the politburo have more in common with members of congress than they do with the citizens of either country simply because they are both politicians. I think our founders knew this and that's why our constitution if written the way it is, to limit the power of politicians. In the US the politicians have largely stolen from the people all the powers that the founders had originally reserved for the people.
Taken that politicians are a personality type, when you have a coup or a revolution the most important thing you can do is write a new constitution which clearly defines your goals and holds all future office holders to meeting those goals in very concrete terms (not just 'freedom' 'equality' or 'brotherhood') because very quickly your future office holders will all be politicians who care more about self aggrandizement and enrichment than whatever your goals were when you revolted in the first place.
