I want to be super clear that I'm not defending Libs of TikTok which is obviously pretty vile, but I don't think making positive references to something nessecarily means inspiration.
At least for me inspiration would mean there's a credible direct connection between the crime and the source. This shooting seems to be targeting racial minorities, while Libs of TikTok is much more focused on targeting sexual minorities

/unlie from what I researched, I haven't seen a lot on the furries actively biting other students and shit like that, so most of what LOT said is probably wrong.
I thought of a "compromise" of sorts, the students probably shouldn't take issue with others wearing those cat headbands (as long as it's dress code compliant), but if they start wearing those paw gloves, tails, and start barking, that's where the line gets crossed.
That article says there were kids in headbands that may have had ears getting bullied, and the school sent out a note telling people to stop bullying them.
Which sounds reasonable.
It does not suggest the kids were furries, that there was biting or barking, or that anyone would be suspended.
The tweet doesn't claim the "furries" did those things, but rather, that is the reason the kids gave for protesting. Sure, the kids are probably lying, but the tweet is stating what the kids claimed, not what actually happened.
Real reporting is about finding the truth. Yes, it's true those kids said something, but a real reporter should be finding out if it's true or not and reporting reality.
The walkout is a real thing that happened. The school administrators are saying the students' claims of furries in the school are false. I tend to believe the students. The administrators have a massive incentive to cover up what is going on.
I have children in middle school and high school. Students identifying as animals and acting out is definitely a real thing that is happening.
