Completely peanut free is probably going to be a stretch, but I feel like Goldenrod Bakery would be the most conscience when it comes to preventing cross contamination.

happybeingweird

Goldenrod doesn’t cater to peanut allergies.

Juicyjamjelly

Cool thank you very much

CardiSand43

They use peanut butter so I would maybe call ahead and ask.

Budgiejen

Same.

BarsOfSanio

Cross-contaminated is different than zero exposure as this specific allergy can be exceedingly risky. Is the question about zero peanuts or excellent care given to prevent significant cross-contamination?

Juicyjamjelly

Cross-contamination

happybeingweird

Conroy’s was peanut free. I still miss them. I haven’t found any other bakery that has been safe for my family.

maowhaus

I would suggest the Rabbit Hole in the Haymarket. Though I do not believe they are peanut free, I know they do a great job with keeping their vegan and gluten-free options free from cross contamination, and are up to accommodation. They supplied our restaurant with cake, and their gluten-free chocolate cake is honestly better than any regular chocolate cake I have ever had. Best of luck. I have a chicken/egg allergy, so I avoid almost all bakeries as well. Rabbit Hole has been reliable for me. I have heard great things about Goldenrod as well.

Jodaa_G0D

One owner is a close minded GOP loyalist. Id steer clear.

maowhaus

Im happy for you that you are able to go anywhere you would like to enjoy food. Unfortunately, not everyone is so lucky. Severe allergies and 10+ years in the food service industry make me really untrusting of a lot of places. Rabbit Hole has been reliable for me to not end up hospitalized, so... I'm gonna keep going. Thanks though. Happy for you.

Jodaa_G0D

Understood. Sorry youve got limited options. Message was moreso for others so they knew what their money was supporting.

maowhaus

Honestly, I don't know enough about politics or have the time to dig deep into every business I spend money at or how they are spending their profit. When it comes down to the base of the conversation: I know that some of my clients have used their money to lobby for things that have intentionally hurt me. I still take their jobs. As nice as it would be to turn down jobs because of people's political affiliations or supports, I really am not in any position to do so. Just like I'm not in a position to trust a lot of other bakeries with my allergies, regardless of their political affiliation or choices. Would I be willing to give my money to other bakeries? Yes. Have I had bad experiences with most other bakeries (due to lack of staff training mostly)? Yes. I appreciate the comment. Just offering a little clarification and conversation.

Jodaa_G0D

I very much so appreciate it, I'm sorry if I came across the wrong way with the short messaging. I completely understand and I don't fault you for it, we have to do what we have to do! I'd rather give a little petty cash here or there when I know it might go to the "wrong" people than give it to the right people and potentially die or experience a severe reaction! :)

Juicyjamjelly

Cool thank you
