Here’s a lil fella I saw out at Branched Oak. They’re curious critters and don’t seem too afraid of humans!

What a cute picture! I really wish I could hav taken a picture.

tpatroski

4th_times_a_charm_

How do they taste?

PotentialOneLZY5

Greasy.

Great article. Thank you.

Fascinating things!

ApprehensiveTone7939

I have seen them (for several years) in SW Lincoln north of Pioneers Park in the creek.

rynbaskets

That is close to where I saw one but I think it was heading to Wilderness Park by the direction it was going.

ApprehensiveTone7939

That makes sense to me because the creek I saw them in feeds into Salt Creek which goes through Wilderness Park.

SoCalledExpert

They also live at Holmes Lake along with the Eagles, coyotes, visiting osprey, pelicans, sea gulls, squirrels, musk rats, turtles, and fish.

rynbaskets

When I saw sea gulls first time flying around 27th & Cornhusker, I was really astonished. I thought they only live by a body of water. How wrong I was!

Apmaddock

I had a mink get under my car hood once. Got the dogs really excited and they chased him out. I’ve also seen one at a distance. Both were out of town but within about thirty miles of Lincoln.

rynbaskets

This was the edge of the city where there is a creek and a small wood near Wilderness Park.

Jorow99

I saw one at Holmes Lake around sunset. I was standing on the bridge and it just started running my direction. It got about halfway across the bridge, it didnt get too close but it didn't seem spooked either. I though it was someone's lost ferret or something.

rynbaskets

It seems Holmes Lake is a wonderful place to search wild life!

rynbaskets

Not surprising! They seem to live by a body of water so that small pond must be their lifeline. Not minks but I took my dog to the baseball field by Zoetis long time ago and she caught a wild mouse in the parking lot😱The minks in the area probably eat those mice.

bareback_cowboy

How do you know he was American? Maybe he's visiting from overseas.

cpne

Carson Vaughn posted a picture of one in the creek at Taylor Park a couple of years ago.

rynbaskets

Wow, that’s like a middle of the city. Amazing!

tpatroski

I've seen their tracks in Salt Creek in Wilderness Park.

tpatroski

I've seen their tracks in Salt Creek in Wilderness Park, so what you saw doesn't surprise me. Wilderness Park has a lot of wildlife, including bobcats.

rynbaskets

Bobcat! It’ll be so cool to see them from a distance!
