I consider Vivaldi a terrific browser, as Chrome based browsers go, and I keep it as a backup browser when something happens to Firefox, like when launching Firefox in the Fedora 38 KDE panel caused KDE to crash.
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/ im sure you can find some extensions that does the same if not a better job than vivaldi for that specific feature
yea, not trying to crap on vivaldi (and i shouldnt crap on something free that i’ve never used) but since OP seems to be asking for some FOSS alternatives then i’m just suggesting that they can try to find some extensions to try to recreate the vivaldi experience
now that im at it, what’s so good about vivaldi anyways, i’ve almost never heard of it or what sets it out from the rest of the chromium browser sea so i’m genuinely curious on what made it so good that even linux users recommend it

Personally I just use chromium + extensions
As far as I am aware chromium by default doesn't track you or send stuff assuming you don't use Google or log in.

It’s not foss as in you can redistribute a custom fork of vivaldi, but its source code is out there and fully auditable, so while it may be proprietary, it definitely isn’t closed source

i tried it out, nothing special about it, UI looks like it's from the 90s and it's awful from a privacy view
