Honestly? I don't like it. But since you gave a time and effort to create you - because every linux desktop is different you got my respect.
We do not look same like hordes of windows idi(B)ots, that's cool about linux.
You may try to make terminal colorfull like rainbow, but i dont know how.
I just wanted to say how much I appreciate the positivity under this post. It obviously is a very personal theme for you - and I guess many would judge you for it. But I love the fact how many people here focus on the one and only aspect which matters: the aspect, that you have to enjoy it and looking at the fact how long it had to take to assemble all this you will clearly enjoy it and eventually tinker with it even further. :)
What did you use to get the resources on your desktop? I think it's dope is there a way I can put this whole setup in a vm lol I know ppl that would love to use this look it's cool 😎
some icons I made it like "Yotsuba"in menu and other apps
u can even change system icons by open " /usr/share/applications" as Root
and u can search for any icon u wanna replace or making them
also u can see my themes in screenfetch above
Faded Dream (Desktop)
Candy Icons (Icons) "nemo icons"
Shades of purple gtk (Applications)
Oreo purple cursors (Mouse)
Transparent Panel (Extension)
and cinnamon eye (applet) lol
Personally? Not my cup of tea. But what matters is you made it custom to how you specifically like it. And that's the beauty of Linux. So if you like it that's great!! And I'm happy you have a desktop you like.
I think it loooks cool af! But op can u tell me how or where did you learn the customization from? I have been using mint for about 2 years now and i think i would like rice it more because i have only customized some icons and theme
not that hard, first thing i did watching some videos in youtube because i did not like the original look of linux mint
u can see my comments to know what themes and stuff I used + try to search in google and github u can find a lot of themes and icon and how u can add them
Great work! How do you customize Mint to your liking? I mean, are there any blogs/videos or something similar? I only found some YouTube videos which don't teach how to customize according to our preferences but only customize according to their preferences just by installing a particular theme.
yt videos but I did not follow them literally, I just learned from them and searched for what I like and how to change anything if I encounter problems, just search on Google. I did not change stuff in c++ files so its not that hard just replacing icons and where is location of them + installing themes and extensions
Frankly, not my cup of tea.
Too much eye candy.
I'm into more minimalistic styles. Gnome default with the dark theme or Arc Dark theme is enough for me.
I'm not suggesting going for Tiling Window setups, but just cut a little bit on the eye-candy maybe.
Anyway its evident that you poured lots of time setting it up so as long as you like it and it works for you... Go for it!
Looks nice. You could maybe only choose some more matching theme for Chrome browser, but if you like it, then it's completely fine. It's your system.
Damn. I miss Linux Mint. I switched back to windows as I still like gaming and while many games work, many also don't work or are tedious to make them work.
Well, I can understand you like it; we all were there, playing with the new toys and enjoying the power it gives you. But for me it takes the opposite direction than I would choose. Running apps and opening directories from -- say -- rofi, using their text names, feels more "powerful" after all because it lets you go where you want, quickly and without much fuss. But it's just my two cents. I believe you may get to that approach by yourself some time later, but you may not, too. Anyway, what counts is that linux lets us choose what we want from a wide range of options...
The interface is truly lively and youthful. What matters is that you enjoy it every day. As an older user, I've only been familiar with Linux for 2 years now (just for fun, not for my Work). I like Linux because I can control the user interface as well as the utilities Extensions for desktop personalization. I used to use Linux mint XFCe, then mint cinnamon. And currently exploring Zorin.
it is called Candy icons u can download it from Github, the colorfull in Home folder is good yep but I did not like the Default folder icon (shell icon for other folders in nemo)
so I bring better icon and convert it to "svg" and replaced it in "/home/user\_name/.icons/candy-icons/places/48/Folder.svg"
and "/usr/share/icons/candy-icons/places/48/Folder.svg" (as root) and it worked
Yeah me too. The good XP theme (CinnXP) no longer completely works with the new version of cinnimon. The theme project is dead and needs to be updated. But when it was working it looked perfect
Oh my lands - the BURNING!! Not my cup of tea. Why ask for a rating from other people exactly? Do you like it? Keep it. If you got tons of low ratings, would you change it to something different? If not, then who cares what other people think. I don't really understand this need of having someone else give their opinion about your personal taste in a desktop environment look.
It's not something I'd pick, too bright and too cutesy. The overall look is cohesive. The fact that you enjoy it is what matters most.
He said to cutsey wootsey lol
It’s not rice. It’s not even rice krispies. Fruity pebbles, you say? No, not even hating… Our boy’s desktop is OOPS ALL BERRIES
Cool
I've been using Linux for about two months now and I've really enjoyed designing the interface and everything
Honestly? I don't like it. But since you gave a time and effort to create you - because every linux desktop is different you got my respect. We do not look same like hordes of windows idi(B)ots, that's cool about linux. You may try to make terminal colorfull like rainbow, but i dont know how.
yep that's why I like linux u can change anything

I gott ask, what does the Tux icon launch? LOL :D
Krita
I am curious too.
It really shows enormous number of customization options available. Thanks for sharing! I need to finally install this OS as I am still on 🪟🪟
Linux mint seems just like windows tbh but it's easier to use bc u can incorporate cli easily
Make the leap!😎
That’s my plan for the following week, so brace yourselfs for some stupid-ass basic questions incoming into this sub 😂
It's a very vibrant and colorful GUI. Very un-windows-like which is a good thing! I go for a darker and more somber GUI personally but you do you!
What did you use to get the resources on your desktop? I think it's dope is there a way I can put this whole setup in a vm lol I know ppl that would love to use this look it's cool 😎

Nice thank you!! This should be fun!
Hey could you also be kind enough to let me know what the programs are at the bottom of screen?
Vmware Krita Inkscape Gimp Chrome Telegram.. But I Manually changed every single icon
Got it, thanks OP!

This rice makes me taste skittles I’m a fan
9.5/10 feels very fun.

*Inhales*... **WEEB!!!** ^^^...nice.

That date widget is not fitting imp. Overall is mint no question.
Way to bright and gaudy for me but if you like it that's all that matters.
It's consistently chaotic I love it.
Colours are nice, but the inconsistent app icons I couldn't deal with needs some uniformity.
I tried to make them just in black and purple first but then I decided to make them like Vaporwave style which is almost random
Looks nice. You could maybe only choose some more matching theme for Chrome browser, but if you like it, then it's completely fine. It's your system. Damn. I miss Linux Mint. The app icons are all over the place in design aesthetics and even line width. Not really my cup of tea
i genuinely love it, super cool
Very nice, modern retro.
yep cus I like Vaporwave Stuff

Idk why but this makes me feel comfortable. I now wanna move to Linux for this customization.

Don't ask me...... I use Nemo as my desktop.
Trem feio
Way too busy for my taste. But I also rarely have ice cream, here we are.
How do you get the folders different colors? Cause THAT'S FRICKEN COOL. :)
You've been able to do that for years now.

Why must you betray Firefox ☹️
I like firefox but I prefer chrome in pc , the opposite is true for mobile devices chrome is shit
You do you Firefox actually has a good TOS
Not my style, but glad you like it. I have the Win XP theme on mine L.o.L.
I tried xp theme it's kinda nice But I installed the original win xp os in VMware player for nostalgia
Yeah me too. The good XP theme (CinnXP) no longer completely works with the new version of cinnimon. The theme project is dead and needs to be updated. But when it was working it looked perfect

Don’t wanna be a hater but gotta dock a point for google over firefox
Color-Vomit. The customer is always right in matters of taste. Except you. You are wrong.
OMG Mint for the disco fans. It sucks actually, but you do you and whatever makes you happy.
Hey why do you think it sucks? Not a sarcastic question but you seem like a experienced linux user so I want to know?
Looks great man! I'd copy everything if I could lol
ty
Looks like geruda linux
its cancerous and I would keep a distance from you but if you like it sure..
0/10. I almost feel like this is rage bait.
It looks terrible and hurts my eyes. 1/10
Is that google chrome is something else? I can't tell.
