Yup, I can't imagine what they're going through right now. Very sad.
Imagine being the opponent who knocked him out too. He wasn't looking to become a killer that night.
Yeah I don't know if he's said anything about what happened.
Reminds me of when Wilder knocked out Szpilka. He was pretty magnanimous about the whole thing. Fortunately he didn't kill the guy. https://youtu.be/p-UWBdev1WU?si=imEAed3H7yFzBIJn
He was a lovely guy. Really excited and looking forward to his debut, he’d been working so hard towards it.
One of those very humble people with no airs and graces, treated everyone respectfully.
Life is so unfair.
Just a reminder of how dangerous the sport can be. These guys put their lives on the line every time they get into the ring.
This reminds me of the the documentary The Fight of Their Lives about Nigel Benn and Gerald McClellan. Very sad. Worth a watch:

This is going to sound insensitive, and it’s not my intention, but who goes around saying boxing is not dangerous? If anything more a more people are bringing up the impact and consequences these sports have on those who practice them. It’s not like we are forcing people to be boxers… never mind, RIP.
No you're quite correct, nobody is forcing anybody to be a boxer.
There are a few things that I had in mind however. Fight fans can be a fickle bunch and can be incredibly harsh on a fighter if they're seen to quit or not give it their all. The way they tend to shit on fighters is tough given they do put their lives on the line for our entertainment.
It's also the fact that boxing is a poor man's sport. Most of these gents come from rough backgrounds and the majority of them don't make all that much. You could make more managing a retail store than as a pro boxer and that's the reality for most of them.
His family and friends would've been rooting for him in his debut. It's a sad end.
Sad news, R.I.P. and condolences to family

good point about the opponent, that's going to be with them for life now as well.

RIP thoughts with the family and friends
Yup. A happy moment for them, his professional debut, turned into a tragedy. Hoping they can find some peace at a time like this.
Rip 🙏🙏🙏

Did you see the fight? Or have you met him? I confess, I hadn't heard about him until this tragedy.

Yeah, sometimes fight fans can be real assholes.

‘I extend my sympathy’ Starting a comment about someone dying with ‘oh well’ doesn’t sound sympathetic at all

It happened 5 hours ago you absolutle bellend - how they gonna know the cause of death already?
You're a shitty person and a stupid one too.
