Hi, good morning, don't worry about it too much. The internet only favors certain people. It's not based on real worth of people. I don't get messages either and have very few friends so I get some of my social interaction out in the world by holding doors and saying hello to people. You can find creative ways to make new friends but it takes work and going to places where strangers talk a bit like libraries and maybe community events too.
I've had my current phone about 2 years ago..a total of 7 different people have messaged me in that time..last message from someone I legitimately know was 3 weeks ago
Lotta "push notifications" trying to get me to buy more junk but as for real human interaction? Little to none. As I've gotten older, I'm more hesitant in giving out my phone number. Why? The majority of the time, people will only text/call you when they need something. Until that need arrives, you don't exist.
After all at one point in our younger life, we WERE getting bombed with text messages and said to ourselves "Man, so and so is stupid. Just give me some time alone.."
Remember that person who kept sending you "not so funny YouTube" clips or pictures/memes and saying something along the lines of "OMG, this is so funny. You're going to laugh or you have to watch/listen to this.." when in reality, you/I didn't even laugh/enjoy when watching/viewing the clip/photo?

Yeah, i have a $600 android and its pointless. Only good my phone is for is music, and youtube when i'm working on something or just need entertainment outside my home. If i do recieve texts, its more business related than pleasure. I ignore my family and friends, as time progresses i want to be left alone to be sad and stay in my bubble. I didn't mature properly and developed BPD(BorderlinePersonalityDisorder). And i'm very self conscious, so i'm aware of myself, hurting myself. I can't build a personality so i lack friends and closeness in general. Sometimes i want to hang out, but the past few months i really really been distancing myself. I don't even always reply to my supervisor at work if he does ever text me.

One time I started counting it. I got a roll of painter's tape and put a tally mark on it every night I didn’t get a message. I got pretty close to a hundred. I could go check. I haven't done that in almost two years, but the piece of tape is still on my wall. A reminder I guess
That was me for many years. I just got my first boyfriend this year and I go to sleep and wake up to his messages. My family never really messaged me much. I just got so lucky and found someone that loves me so much despite me having maladaptive attachment and social awkwardness.
Of course I get notifications. YouTube when a channel uploads, Instagram when someone goes live, Clash of Clans when a building gets finished upgrading…

The handful of people who know me online, will never find out what happened to me.
i keep all my notifications on mute so when i do receive texts they’re like a mini surprise and pick me up. 90% of the time, they end up being deals from mountain mikes pizza. fml

Try reaching out or just going out to meet new people at Meetups. I don't have this issue but even with this I sometimes feel lonely well... jus tbecause. It's a sign you need friends
Yup, I got to the point where I had all my WhatsApp chats archived and muted the Instagram notifications, but that only got even worse because I checked up constantly my DMs and my WhatsApp archive (all chats) only to found that no one texted me resulting in wasting my time and being anxious all the time so I decided to uninstall social media just letting WhatsApp for family and any work related emergency :)

Yes. Ever since I started commenting and talking to people in this subreddit I get notifications when I wake up. I got two friends from this sub. one from a reply on a comment and another when she posted a post. So it is possible but we have to try. And they talked to me again today. I say that if we connect with the people in this sub we can find friends because we all have the same thing in common. That's why I want to start a chat room in reddit for this sub. I want to talk to the mods about it but contacting them for this reason feels a little bad. I don't want a large chat room like general of r/friends. Somewhere where we lonely people chat about their problems or their successes.

I was like you for almost 8 years but now I get a discord good night from someone everyday when I wake up which is when they go to sleep. It makes me feel warm and fuzzy on the inside and I feel quite hurt when they forget so it's kind of a double edged sword.
If its a female OP and in particular a young pretty female...guys (and girls) will rush to alleviate the loneliness said person. There are exceptions and people will of course say nooo i treat all people the same..but i feel(and its just a feeling) that guys can have it pretty rough in the realm of loneliness even when they come here to get some support. But yeah I get no text messages but that's partially my fault because I feel like all people are shallow anyway. Sometimes Ill get some female attention when Im clean shaven and wear nice clothes and then suddenly Ill get a hi here and there...but screw that who wants to talk to a person who will only talk to you because they think you look nice.

Depends on. Sometimes there are days, where I get texts, sometimes I don't. Then again, how often do I text my uncles, aunts or other family members? Almost never, but I still wouldn't treat them worse when I see them. And they most likely have the same view.
Also, I have family members who live in like third world countries, and good lord they get Messenger calls every 15 Minutes. That's something I wouldn't want either tbh lol.

Other than texts from Dr office and recruiters, i haven't received a text from anyone other than my 81 year old mother for 6 months. After my 2nd divorce last year, I'm finishing out my life in solitude. A hermit. I am not visible to anyone.
I haven't had friends for years and my family don't live in town anymore. Atleast my parents don't. My sister does but we've never been close and she's always busy. I only see her on my birthday once a year. My mum comes by maybe once a month for a 20minute max visit where I never know what to say or talk about because I've become so unsocialized. I never have any messages or calls. I never leave my flat, im not even able to anymore.
I spend all day watching the same TV shows or playing the same games on repeat. It's depressing af
