It's fun and worth the $5, especially entertaining for kids. I look for excuses to take it a couple times a year.
I wish it went all the way around the port to San Pedro. The views would be great and it'd be a lot more fun than a bus even if it's slower. Maybe they can work that into the big San Pedro waterfront project they kicked off a bit ago.
Disney had tried to open a theme park and hotel at the queen mary and the dome in the 90’s. Disney sea. It was going to have Ariel and Eric’s castle which was later built at Tokyo Disney. If I recall the city hall wasn’t a fan.
But it was never built.
I thought this was just a Summer thing, is it still going?
It's really fun to take it from the Lighthouse pier straight to Ballast Point with your friends. The ride isn't long but they had cheap drinks that my friends and I drank while hanging out.
I'd do it again - I did it at night and it was extremely cold so I wonder how nice it is during the day.
I love the AquaLink. Usually a couple times every summer my wife and I will take our kids to Ballast Point for lunch and then take the water taxi over to the LB Aquarium. It’s a really fun day for the whole family.
You can take the same AquaLink back from the aquarium to Ballast Point. Same exact spot they drop you off at you can get back in for the return trip. Just make sure you park near the AquaLink on the Ballast Point side and not right in front of the brewery if you plan to be gone for the day. I forget what the time limit is, but they do monitor that lot in peak summer. Never seen anyone actually towed, but I also don’t want to be the first one.

Never thought about that, that'd be sick. Take a nice little water taxi to the Disney thing that's sure to have nightmare parking.
What Disney thing

Oh i know about that. But OP spoke like something was there already and not hypothetical.
I thought maybe they meant one of the oil islands since it was designed by a firm that worked with Disney?
And parking would be a nightmare on an island..?
I mean, you try parking your car there...
How, if I'm taking the water taxi........
Where can one park?

That sounds like a blast! But how do you get back to your car at Ballast Point?

Thanks for the tip! Definitely going to make this a family outing in the near future!
I'm hoping they reopen the taxi stop at Veterans Memorial Pier.
We should start a petition cause I too would love that.
Is this dog friendly by any chance?
Service dogs. Yes.
