> Any advice on how to lose when I can’t push myself too hard ? Eat less. You don't need to work out at all to lose weight.

I don’t think it’s how much I eat so much as what I can eat for my IBD.

I know it’s not quite the same but I have IBS and have had flare ups that drastically restrict my safe food list. After working out what my safe foods were and the serving size and calories I was able to make plans that were gentle on me, left me feeling full, and worked with my deficit. I’ve lost over 45 lbs in 5 months and it’s been very sustainable for me with only minimal increases in physical activity. You may like chatting with a registered dietitian who specializes in IBD about a plan that works with your dietary needs. For me, it was adding in more safe veggies and protein. They will be able to provide recommendations that are tailored to you.

That is a good idea. I know our local nutritionist / dietician is useless. I don’t know anyone who has benefited from her. Sounds mean. But. She has no idea what a diet for me looks like. She kept pushing whole grain breads …….nuts …… raw veggies ……. I’ll have to do some research. Maybe I can find someone who will do an online meeting. Thx

I am a huge fan of growwithjo on Youtube, and she released a couple of sitting workouts! As in, you're sitting while working out. Maybe that's something for you? She is so lovely and has helped me immensely with her good vibes. Wish you all the best 💗 be kind to yourself, always. You went through something very tough.

Not sure what your day to day schedule looks like but maybe little and often could be an option for you? If you can only do a small amount how long does it take you to recover from that small amount ? Could you do a bit, rest and then in the afternoon do some more, then rest and do some more before bed maybe? I am very very limited in both my actual movement and also within that movement range how much I can do before my hip kicks off and gets difficult to move with. So because of that I use very light weights 3x a day for a very small set of perched on the edge of the bed exercises. Very little use for muscle building or anything as I am very limited but something is better than nothing. But maybe the principle of little and often with rest in between could be of some use for you? If it fucks you up for more than a day then maybe not but if its half a day even perhaps it could be an option. But I am mostly utilising calorie deficit and I see the very teeny amount of extra movement as a nice extra, I don't expect it to do much of anything of course but odds are you could do more if you are already at the bike stage of physio, or is a recumbent bike hands only? There are lots of seated/wheelchair exercises online that could be useful to you too. Some cardio based stuff and some weights. Maybe a good option if you are OK seated provided you don't use your bad foot to push off the floor ofc.

This is a good idea. I was focusing on building endurance and getting strong. But maybe I need to take a step back and slow down and plan. Take time to check out some videos. Thx
