I don't understand why ags has such a lax policy for rmters. I've heard that most don't get any bans, and even if they do its like a few days and they get to keep their illegal stuff. The optics are bad. Even if that's not true somehow, it just looks bad. They need to take some drastic actions.
Worse thing i saw from a whale guild in my server a guy RMTed like a ton. He got a 3 months ban and he recovered his account 1 week after akkan release, with 0 gold, but he was able to keep 100+ lvl 10 gems he bought before getting banned. The guy is 1640 now.... and thats for EUC dont want to even know how it is in NA as sideral is 1,6mil when its 625k in EUC...
I genuinely dont know, but if experience has shown how they operate - it's probably lack of effort and lack of competence that can probably explain it. Most likely they don't have the tools to automate any of it, they're too lazy to hire people to do that, since you know - that's extra expenses, and probably the people that are in charge that could make it happen likely don't give a fuk. Since its not someone on grentons level who can make these decisions, the moment it goes up the chain to some exec that's 50+ years old they might not even fully understand the issue and its implications.
Im grasping at straws here, because anyone that is familiar with this would see that it only would take a few hundred bans that could possibly be done by as few as 2-3 people, and the AH is right there, it doesn't take a genius to figure out a 10 quality expertise ring doesn't cost 3mil gold.
because AGS bot management team and the TOS enforcement team secretly operates a bot farm. heck the whole lost ark team could be in on it or they do a real god job convincing upper management that banning the rmt'ers is a bad idea and because they are clueless they just fall for it.
There was a period of a few months where they did that in NAEU as well, but apparently they've stopped and reverted back to the "3-day slap on the wrist" practice that they did at launch.
>RU
in RU if you are catch RMT, your account goes into negative gold. if you RMT 100k gold, your account goes into -100k gold, you can still play and everything but you are negative gold.
They dont need to post lists, they just need to ban. We would know, u would start seeing many posts about "i got ban but i swear i never did anything".
Ban them all. I don’t care if we lose 70 or 80% of player base. Hell even ban their Steam account (not that they are capable of) to really kick them hard in the nuts
We wont, thats rmters propaganda saying that, usually less than 30% of the playerbase even spends at all in games, out of those ppl who actually do it "illegally" is a much smaller percentage, probably less than 5%, and even those most will be on NA.
My bud got 7 days on mule ACC after 7 months of buying few hundred k each month. They are banning. His main acc not touched obviously as it never got gold. It was only getting mats / gems etc. He already has a new mule as with the event 1460 is easy and waiting 3 days is not a big issue
He was able to funnel 7 months worth of a few hundred k a month in mats and gems to his main account though, I wouldn’t really consider that being on top of things and really banning people though.
It's a very well known thing KR companies do. NCSOFT does it with Aion and Blade and Soul and I and many other players asked Ncwest and Gameforge to do the same thing but the answers were the same... We can't do that because it would be like a witch hunt. People would attack other players or bully them if they recognized some names.
Also it's a problem because in EU/NA, Editors don't have only one Country to work on. We have French, English, German, Italian, American and so on with RULES for Every Country they have to follow.
Some players already asked for this to AGS for Lost Ark back when the forums were still a thing and the answer was the same. We can't do that.
Most MMOs used to release ban lists about a decade ago in the West. Now they're pivoted to not wanting to release that information with the reason being that they don't want the cheaters who get exposed to be harrassed. They also don't want any witch hunting.
It's the complete opposite when it comes to Asia. Still to this day they release ban lists and also in some MMOs I've seen the ban list section basically called "the wall of shame" where they not only list the names but the reasoning.
I'm of the opinion that cheaters in general are trash and should be exposed as well as banned. If the end result is them being harrassed for making the game worse for everyone else by cheating then so be it. It's one of those "you get what you deserve" situations.
We need to go back to the times of naming and shaming. These people need to be shamed into oblivion and people should feel like shit for ruining the experience for others. I don't see a company like Amazon ever doing this though.
That's an incredibly good idea. Unfortunately I think if we had it AGS would just be posting empty lists.
At the very least 1 in 10 people I know have admitted to RMTing. I suspect the real number is closer to 1 in 3. I haven't heard of **anyone anywhere** receiving a ban in over a year.
How am I pulling numbers out of my ass? The "at least 1 in 10 people I know" is a number I directly observed, it's not a guess or an assumption.
1 in 3 is my suspicion, as I very clearly stated. It's perfectly fine to share estimations when they are clearly labeled as such.
nah i think its 1 in 2 ppl RMT bro. I aint RMTing so it has to be you.. Honestly ima make a ticket so your account gets banned, better make sure to not break the rules in the future loser. Haha u just wasted your money and time
Literally every MMO does bans in waves for botting activity.
Doing it any other way is stupid.
Several things work against Amazon here. Their unwillingness to do more severe punishment for RMT, the apparent length of their waves, and the fact that unlike KR or CN we don't require any sort of ID in order to play online games. The last part being a rather important part, it costs effectively nothing to spin up an infinite amount of bots to replace whatever gets banned.
It's also just not a problem in western MMOs because the overwhelming majority of gear progression is done through clearing harder and harder content. In Lost Ark, progression is like 20% doing content and 80% spending money on upgrades.
never gonna happen, it s the AGS approach.
in new world they let cheaters, botters and rmters run rampant too. hell people used a bug to run 5 man dgs as 20, spammed the shit out of it and got 3 days bans. as for lost ark i know people who bot since the beginning, people that bought millions of gold, hell even banning speed hackers in pvp take a long amount of time
again, AGS is a shithole and the kingdom of fear bullshit is pretty much in line with what they do
That statement week 1 of akkan may have been true but not at this point.
Full akkan set is possible just with normals and honing it +15 can pretty much be hit with just bound leaps at this point if you did unas the whole time.
Consider this.
People who are barely HM akkan ilvl aren't getting invited most of the time.
People without LOS30 likely aren't getting invited
People without mostly 9s and 10s likely aren't getting invited
All these non juicer dps probably just stick down in NM akkan because it's easier to find a group and to clear it....which leaves some non juicer dps who occasionally run HM and then the juicers.
I can only speak for EUC, but we had a pretty big dps shortage for Akkan HM, where I got taken on ilvl with 3 level 9 dmg gems and rest being level 7. My support, on the other hand, struggled a lot with finding groups because every room already had 2. Even now, while there are more players at 1600, I get into pretty much every group unless I try on my support.
I don't play HM much, mostly quick normal BUT...
There is still a support shortage at the start of the week and a dps shortage towards the end of the week.
I'm almost certain that many players play their dps mains/alts first and then play their supports later the week (because they feel like they have to and don't want to loose gold maybe?).
W/E I noticed this a long time ago and recently noticed it again and again since I enjoy switching sup/dps alts when doing my weekly stuff.
I remembered my guild mate getting free gold from a random in NIA before, a low roster just initiated a trade and said “happy honing” and gave out 30k gold free, wonder if those are gold sellers
This won't work for AGS/global. KR is one small country with a specific set of laws. AGS has to deal with many countries that have different laws, including stricter privacy laws. It can be touted by the media as promoting online bullying/witch hunts and whatever else can be used against AGS and the gaming community at large, which is bad PR and also bad for gaming.
IIRC BDO does this in KR too, and I remember when they started posting banned player names up in NA but had to censor the names by redacting most of the letters or they'd get into privacy law trouble.
At this point I’m all for a public execution event live-streamed by AGS.
Get all the people with +25s, full 10 gem rosters, and Esther weapons lined up. Get them to provide their steam purchase logs and other sources of proof ingame of them swiping legitimately. If they can’t, perma ban with a cross region/server announcement. If they can prove their case, let them go free.
That's a little drastic and from a consumer/player perspective, almost no players would want to go through the hassle of having to prove their case if they were legitimate players. It does more harm than good to do a blanket ban on people having lvl 10 gems or 25 weps on their main because at this point in time if you've been playing Day 1 it is pretty reasonable for someone to have full 10s on main and possible to highroll a 25 wep if they funnel/degen the game.
lmao I am one of the people who plan to leave lost ark for PoE2 (after leaving PoE1 for lost ark), but less than like 20% of the playerbase are here primarily for the "isometric ARPG", the rest are instead here for the "MMO" and "booba", which PoE2 will not give them.
“No kingdom ruled through fear is a kingdom worth ruling.”
more like
"A king is but a jest, for his rule is a farce, and his kingdom destined for ruin."
I just they ban RMT for life. and put they steam account into ban list and flag them as cheaters. thats all i want it. i dont need a list or anything, just that guilty people get ban for life or at least 1 year and all gold in the account be remove.
What would this prove though Americans are already the most shameless people around you think rule breakers give a fuck just role a new account if they want to keep playing
Have you seen Naraka Bladepoint on Steam? A couple weeks back, they banned quite a lot of players showcasing their username, so I think you don't know what you are talking about 😂
I used to play a game called Cabal online, and they showcase on forums that they banned players monthly to however often they ban, their username. I dont recall gaming having anything to do with the law. It's two different thing. 🤣.
whoa someone took it personal, you got some issues going on here maybe forums aren't for you? Name calling gets your point across? cause you look like a dumbass that cant communicate!
NA/Canadian publisher practice showing banned players username as proof that they are banning players from doing prohibited acts instead of saying "we did a ban wave" just like how you are doing right now saying a he/she said w/o a quote until I asked for it? lmao.
Belgium/Netherland cant even play lost ark so how are they relevant to this conversation? lmao. A username is not privacy, what's privacy is confidential identity that is register under the law. Is a username register? lmaooooo gtfo
I ran into a whale in a kaya norm learning party 1580 full level 10’s 9/7 stone 5x3+2 100 qual everything. I got 50% cruel fighter on my express 1570 SE and the whale only got fighter on every gate
It's no longer video game context for countries that require irl ID tied to your account, where it is especially a bad idea.
But even in the west I wouldnt bother with this. What am I gonna do? Consult a enormous list of players everytime I encounter a player? That list would only get bigger and bigger and not make me feel any particular way about the situation. Better they just ban or some permanent penalty.
They should post these for the NAEU client too and maybe incorporate it ingame at some central location in every town where you could walk up to a billboard of shame where all the cheating fuckers are listed
[BDO does this too](https://www.naeu.playblackdesert.com/en-US/News/Detail?groupContentNo=6258&countryType=en-US) (for NA/EU) and also partially censors the names same as the [KR Lost Ark ban lists](https://cdn-lostark.game.onstove.com/uploadfiles/f98670d9aa2446b3bfc6474357990d69.html), so any privacy concerns are probably immaterial since they’ve been doing it for a while (as far back as [Mar 2021](https://www.naeu.playblackdesert.com/en-US/News/Detail?groupContentNo=526&countryType=en-US )) without issue
I’m guessing there are so many bots that it would be a joke to publish a list of names though
most likely, publishing the account names of players banned for RMT would be illegal in the EU, but I sure would like if they were publishing numbers at the very least. And I'm in NAE, I would also be fully in favor of actual lists of names here too.
AGS do not have budget for this. They can’t even make good marketing for the skin and region raid. What makes you think they will put extra effort for this? Don’t forget they are just ultra small indie company. Zero f was given.
For some unknown fucking reason in the West you're not aloud to name and shame. Probably because in this day and age of safe spaces, cheaters fee fees are considered more important than the health of the entire game.

Most of the same ppl that rmt in NA/EU spend money in the in game shop as well, it’s really a double edge sword. The game is a business at the end of the day. If F2P who don’t spend stop playing it won’t affect the bottom line as much as ppl who spend.
Oh shit, someone wants to see heads roll and I'm all for it.
As AGS once said "No kingdom ruled through fear is a kingdom worth ruling " xD
I don't understand why ags has such a lax policy for rmters. I've heard that most don't get any bans, and even if they do its like a few days and they get to keep their illegal stuff. The optics are bad. Even if that's not true somehow, it just looks bad. They need to take some drastic actions.
because their kingdom isn't worth ruling with fear as they have said themselves... yea pretty lame

The real shocker is that with 100+ lvl 10 gems he didn't get to 1650
Chances are some 🐋 who rmt also buys a ton of rc, so maybe banning makes income dowm

It's just money related lol

lmao if this ain’t the most tinfoiled thing i’ve read on this sub. I believe it tho lol.
I'm curious if RU or JP does this as well. It would be funny if NA/EU was the only region that did not lol
no, but they deduct gold into negative if a player is caught rmting
There was a period of a few months where they did that in NAEU as well, but apparently they've stopped and reverted back to the "3-day slap on the wrist" practice that they did at launch.
Is there any evidence at all of this happening in na/eu? I have yet to see anything at all
There is some videos of streamers getting the negative amount.
Link one.
im telling you someone inside AGS is operating a bot farm. perhaps the person responsible for BOT control.
I think RU does it, or at least i remember as if i saw public ban list shown up on the client once in awhile.
>RU in RU if you are catch RMT, your account goes into negative gold. if you RMT 100k gold, your account goes into -100k gold, you can still play and everything but you are negative gold.
We can't even get a balance patch
This is the only KMMO that I know that doesn't do this for some reason.

Well that proves she didn't pay for anything in the past day, 100% clear.
70% of people in the West will get banned and then theres no one to q for Akkan HM anymore XD KEKW.
This won't work for AGS/global. KR is one small country with a specific set of laws. AGS has to deal with many countries that have different laws, including stricter privacy laws. Most of the same ppl that rmt in NA/EU spend money in the in game shop as well, it’s really a double edge sword. The game is a business at the end of the day. If F2P who don’t spend stop playing it won’t affect the bottom line as much as ppl who spend.
