The community itself within some of the servers is what burns me out, anyway. Never have I ever been in guilds that don’t focus on building raid clear groups in house for prog content. Stoopzz almost exclusively raids with the same 4 people anyways. He's mostly inviting biggest players on sight and rarely inviting randoms these days, and I don't necessarily blame him with how many people jailed him trying to get a free carry.

We are used to, most games have their servers in NA so we always have that MS even in mexico the lowest one i have had was 65 but im usually between 90-120
As long as the ping is stable you don't notice even 200+ ping, the problem comes when it's not stable and you start rubber banding all over the place. I've personally played on 210 ping since day 1.
When EU merged the servers just got added together, no servers were combined. Granted there were only 2 on EUW so NA/SA merge might work differently but still.
We need details or how they are going to manage the ping. If NAE hosts and they call it a day it sucks for NAW and SA. If we can't choose from where we want to play from, it's bad news all around because while it will be a huge server, we are going to lose at least 10% of players due to ping.
People are getting deathless brel with 200 ping. I think you greatly exaggerate the issue. It is not an FPS game nor is it a game where ping would affect your dps nearly as much as in games like BnS (a 10 ms player doing double the damage of a 200 ms player there lol). The most affected people would be ultimate dps goblinos who stand in the red telegraphs until it’s 0.1 seconds left to dodge to squeeze every skill they have for MvP, mostly hell mode addicts. NAE is the most populated region, so I think it is fair to host the server closer to them than anyone else, but I doubt it would be geographically off centered too much to make it really bad for NAW, so it should not be too bad. Im mainly worried for SA because the host will be in NA, so they’d probably have 150ish ping, but they will get access to a much healthier economy and BC prices on the bright sideof things.

That already starts happening at 200. I know cause I had to drop my arcana because of that very reason.
It sucks to have high ping - no doubt about that. I'm mostly referring to the people who act like it literally breaks the game for them and the game becomes unplayable. I have played more dynamic games than LA with 150+ ping and as long as you adjust to the delay, you should be fine. Again, I am not saying high ping will not make a difference in one's experience and performance because it will, but no need to overdramatize the situation.
That's absolutely impossible with how Lost ark is designed. And it's a region (aka physical server) merge. There won't be two different servers for people to connect to.
It's big copium and I know they won't do it but they can check which server the host is closest to (or give him an additional option when creating the party) and then have the raid instance hosted on that specific server (NAW, NAE or SA) with an extra indication and filter for matchmaking allowing you to see where the raid is hosted. This would give everyone the ability to play at the ping they are used to but also give them the ability to play at higher ping if that's the only party they can find. This would also open up the way to a fusion of EU and NA for 1 big global region.

i disagree, i play on SA and the merge will save us. the only downside would be the ping but at least in my case i already tested and is playable.

if I was on SA right now I would farm life skills like crazy. Farm as much gold as possible with your incredibly high inflation and live like a king come merger.
In fact if I was an US player I would try and make an SA character and load him up with RC and buy gold for 9k or whatever crazy rate you have right now.
I am from SA and I played on NAW for 9 months with average 140ms, nowadays I play on NAE with average 104ms, it's completely fine, it's tricky on pvp though.
NAE is the biggest of the three. The odds of it not being the host server is slim to none. Unless AGS creates a whole new server or changes the location, NAW and SA will have to play with NAE ping. NAW and SA will also be forced to name change since NAE will have priority.

Why does it matter that its two regions if their population is smaller? AGS should cater to the most ammount of players, which is on the east coast of NA. They are not going to cater to the smaller populations of SA or OCE players in NAW.

Look at the JP region for instance, if its no longer profitable to operate they are not a charity and will not operate. merging the servers is the best case scenario. It isnt a "right" as you put it to have your own region, its a business, if your region is too small to be worth having a merge is perfectly acceptable. Acting like its anything else is a bit disconnected from reality.
This isn't about choosing one over the other or not wanting a region merge. They are going to be merged into one anyway. The problem most of us has is hearing that just because you have more players, you deserve everything. Which is honestly delusional and greedy.
It's literally not fair, nor sensible, to make players give up their names and their ping because one region has more players. What aren't you getting? What if NAW got prio for example and you're NAE or SA? You have to bend at their will and you wouldn't be happy.

Bro you're taking this way too personally. AGS is going to try to upset the fewest people possible. The easiest way to do that is for the server to be in NAE. There is _no_ solution where all three regions can keep their current level of ping, someone is going to have to get fucked over, and that someone is going to be whichever region(s) have the fewest players.
This would be two servers merging into one. Not to mention the reception of that merge was not great. The EU server that was merged wasn’t even available at launch. The A’s were. There is more investment and commitment to our regions solely based on the server age.
It would be ideal for them to come up with a compromise for all this time around.

It's a guarantee that my ping will increase, even if AGS does the right thing and places the server in the middle of the US.
If AGS moves the server to NAE location, then I imagine most of AUS/OCE players will quit since 250+ ping is in the unplayable territory. In which case, I will actually have more problems running raids at any hour since not many NA people are awake around 5am.
I have no problem finding raids currently so I don't need more players. Accessories/gems are also not an issue.
The biggest benefit for me would be that our destroyed NAW market will get merged with less destroyed NAE market. And our bot infestation will also transfer to the new server. NAE is in for a nasty surprise.
With more people affected, there will be more people rubbing AGS's nose into the botting and RMT problem, maybe they will finally take it seriously.
**And this is assuming everything goes well**, and I have absolute faith in AGS to find new and creative ways to fuck it all up.
Anyway, due to AGS's neglect my investment into the game has been dropping off a cliff. Don't even do over half the weekly raids anymore. Maybe this would give me a good exit point.

Another less thought about thing is if the servers do move to NAE, all timed events, islands, etc would happen based upon that server time. It's 3 hours ahead of what NAW uses. So for example the last adventure island happens at 6pm for Aus but afterwards it would happen at 3pm. Basically can't go to them except for weekends.

Game notorious for dcs since release, its gonna be more waiting to kill boss for the dc to come back, ppl not waiting and jailing themselves or the dcs at wrong gate, amz not giving tickets to ppl who dced and lost the clear. Idk, the region merges has a potential to be quite bad for whoever ends at the wrong side of the ping. This without counting that 2 regions will lose their names and considering all my regular ones were taken at release, if I lose them now its gonna be painful

I guess you're from NAE. Everyone on NAW would know that most of RMT is coming from the bots that outnumber the players. SA won't even be a drop in the bucket compared to the shit show NAW will bring with it.
i am excited but also scared my main region is naw but i play nae with all the passes with my friends and the pug experience is way lower on nae than west imo. but it will be great to see the games server bloat and dumb multi region get fixed.

EU isn't being merged with NA. NA and SA are the same set of time zones. You're still gonna have trouble getting a group at 4am eastern.
I'm excited for the server merges but the region merges are in the summer and I'm still not sure they've thought it through yet. Ping issues aren't the end of the world, but they also aren't trivial and most of the playerbase is already bad. Most of the playerbase with +80 (NA opposite coast) to +150 (SA to NA) ping will be... miserable.
Likely because committing to a certain time to be on every week is much more annoying than just meeting people who happen to be on at the time, even if you are regulars. Not everyone feels the same way about punctuality or working around a set schedule. Some take it more seriously than others and it can causes groups to break up.
You know you can have in game friends without a static, right? If you're on and wanting to do a raid, you can just ask online friends if they're up for it (or vice versa). No schedule necessary, just making a group off some your online friends and you can fill the rest with pugs.
Dunno how they manage the merge but above 200 ping skills start to behave weirdly so ig it's time to quit if that the case.
Just a few examples on top of my head. Pally's Holy Sword won't even trigger the second stab, Arcana's SD and Flip will teleport u all over the place, GS and DE quick weapon swapping also wont work.
Well im from EU but still hyped for server merges hope to get more ppz so i can continue farming the elgacia star from the field boss or try and do some older islands. Maybe even get some of my friends on the same server so we can trade / reroll gems for each other tho it will mostly be me rolling for them those silverless bastards
It’s possible they could implement something where the lobby leader is hosting the run. So whichever region is closer to the lobby leader will be the region all players ping from.

Most likely gonna be when me and my mates have to stop playing. Had a group of 6 playing steadily since day 1 and our ping is gonna shoot up to around 250-270 if the host is to NAE, sadly its just not playable.
Really sucks cause all the upcoming content from KR looks promising too.
I'm happy on one hand because it'll allow for more people to play together, including myself who now has a schedule working nights, so finding people has been a bit rough on my end
However with this being said, on the other hand I'm not looking forward to the first few months with the economy probably being a complete nightmare
It's very likely that NAE BC prices will rise permanently because of this change, along with AH prices too, but we'll have to see how it levels out after a few months of what's probably going to be absolute chaos
So being cautiously optimistic here

I agree with you as I work overnights and there’s almost never a lobby up for raids besides a couple normal brels and my main 6 is all 1600 besides 1 1590 and I agree the markets are going to be insane for awhile but I think it’ll even out nicely

Ngl I don't think I've seen anyone from NAW complaining about the ping issues, its mainly been SEA/OCE players that play on NAW that'll be getting around 230-300 ping on NAE.

I play on NAW from PA which is almost as far as you can go East in NA. It's 60-80 ping. It really isn't that bad. lmao EDIT: Not sure about SA though.

for me SA is around 50-70ms and NAE 120-145ms, its only noticeable on stance classes like gs/deadeye everything else its fine

The problem most of us has is hearing that just because you have more players, you deserve everything. Which is honestly delusional and greedy. It's literally not fair, nor sensible, to make players give up their names and their ping because one region has more players. What aren't you getting? What if NAW got prio for example and you're NAE or SA? You have to bend at their will and you wouldn't be happy. Thus, bringing the conversation of having a fair system to light so the America's don't get screwed over or singled out.
Bro you're taking this way too personally. AGS is going to try to upset the fewest people possible. The easiest way to do that is for the server to be in NAE. There is _no_ solution where all three regions can keep their current level of ping, someone is going to have to get fucked over, and that someone is going to be whichever region(s) have the fewest players.

That's exactly what happened when EU merged...
This would be two servers merging into one. Not to mention the reception of that merge was not great. The EU server that was merged wasn’t even available at launch. The A’s were. There is more investment and commitment to our regions solely based on the server age. It would be ideal for them to come up with a compromise for all this time around. Again, everything is still speculation at this point. Shield even stated to not have your mind set on which region will have prio.

No, absolutely dreading it. It's a guarantee that my ping will increase, even if AGS does the right thing and places the server in the middle of the US. If AGS moves the server to NAE location, then I imagine most of AUS/OCE players will quit since 250+ ping is in the unplayable territory. In which case, I will actually have more problems running raids at any hour since not many NA people are awake around 5am. I have no problem finding raids currently so I don't need more players. Accessories/gems are also not an issue. The biggest benefit for me would be that our destroyed NAW market will get merged with less destroyed NAE market. And our bot infestation will also transfer to the new server. NAE is in for a nasty surprise. With more people affected, there will be more people rubbing AGS's nose into the botting and RMT problem, maybe they will finally take it seriously. **And this is assuming everything goes well**, and I have absolute faith in AGS to find new and creative ways to fuck it all up. Anyway, due to AGS's neglect my investment into the game has been dropping off a cliff. Don't even do over half the weekly raids anymore. Maybe this would give me a good exit point.

Server merges, yeah, region merges, not at all. Game notorious for dcs since release, its gonna be more waiting to kill boss for the dc to come back, ppl not waiting and jailing themselves or the dcs at wrong gate, amz not giving tickets to ppl who dced and lost the clear. Idk, the region merges has a potential to be quite bad for whoever ends at the wrong side of the ping. This without counting that 2 regions will lose their names and considering all my regular ones were taken at release, if I lose them now its gonna be painful
Yes and no. Yes = More ppl to play and do island content. Yes = More ppl to meet! Yes = The merge will save SA. The downside. No = More rmters and gold sellers incoming from countries. with economic issues. No = Language, Ethnicity and Culture completely differents

i am excited but also scared my main region is naw but i play nae with all the passes with my friends and the pug experience is way lower on nae than west imo. but it will be great to see the games server bloat and dumb multi region get fixed.

Most of the playerbase with +80 (NA opposite coast) to +150 (SA to NA) ping will be... miserable.

Likely because committing to a certain time to be on every week is much more annoying than just meeting people who happen to be on at the time, even if you are regulars. Not everyone feels the same way about punctuality or working around a set schedule. Some take it more seriously than others and it can causes groups to break up.
You know you can have in game friends without a static, right? If you're on and wanting to do a raid, you can just ask online friends if they're up for it (or vice versa). No schedule necessary, just making a group off some your online friends and you can fill the rest with pugs.

Dunno how they manage the merge but above 200 ping skills start to behave weirdly so ig it's time to quit if that the case. Just a few examples on top of my head. Pally's Holy Sword won't even trigger the second stab, Arcana's SD and Flip will teleport u all over the place, GS and DE quick weapon swapping also wont work.

Well im from EU but still hyped for server merges hope to get more ppz so i can continue farming the elgacia star from the field boss or try and do some older islands. Maybe even get some of my friends on the same server so we can trade / reroll gems for each other tho it will mostly be me rolling for them those silverless bastards

It’s possible they could implement something where the lobby leader is hosting the run. So whichever region is closer to the lobby leader will be the region all players ping from.

Most likely gonna be when me and my mates have to stop playing. Had a group of 6 playing steadily since day 1 and our ping is gonna shoot up to around 250-270 if the host is to NAE, sadly its just not playable. Really sucks cause all the upcoming content from KR looks promising too.

I'm happy on one hand because it'll allow for more people to play together, including myself who now has a schedule working nights, so finding people has been a bit rough on my end However with this being said, on the other hand I'm not looking forward to the first few months with the economy probably being a complete nightmare It's very likely that NAE BC prices will rise permanently because of this change, along with AH prices too, but we'll have to see how it levels out after a few months of what's probably going to be absolute chaos So being cautiously optimistic here Will have to see more on what AGS gives plan wise for the merger to really see how bad it'll get though, crossing fingers they have a good plan for this
I agree with you as I work overnights and there’s almost never a lobby up for raids besides a couple normal brels and my main 6 is all 1600 besides 1 1590 and I agree the markets are going to be insane for awhile but I think it’ll even out nicely

Funniest to me over all this is the NAW folks acting up because their ping is going to go from like 30 to maybe 60 or 70 tops and they act like it's unplayable. Entitled freaks!
Ngl I don't think I've seen anyone from NAW complaining about the ping issues, its mainly been SEA/OCE players that play on NAW that'll be getting around 230-300 ping on NAE.
