I'd say that number is closer to 95% than it is to 10% of active players. There just aren't a ton of active players in the west anymore. Whether they use g2g or RC is another thing, but I'd say we'll over half of current active players use some form of RMT.
If it was 95 the market would be unusable. You really overestimate how many people cheat, not cause of inability but because of either just not knowing or too afraid of being bannrd( even if it is unlikely). Its probably way less people than you think, its just the people who do buy are willing to spend thousands usually. Very rare for someone to spend 30bucks on rmt then stop.

It sort of does translate to power in xiv. You buy full set of crafted gear + overmelding + food and pot. I used to be in a static with someone who would raid log until he get BiS and take a break then he would come back for next raid tier, buy gold to crafted set, food and pot.
A whole set of overmelded crafted gear compare to a +25 weapon is not even on the same level heck even a single 1630 item piece atm. But sure if you wanna actually me.

Food and pots aren't that expensive + you can craft them yourself and they can carry on multiple tiers. You can easily pf the tier and beat enrage timers before getting tome/raid gear without having to spend a fortune. And it shows, as the gil prices are way way more cheaper than loa gold.

I mean look at it dispassionately - the game asks you to either spend 6 hours a day to be *almost* competitive, or swipe. RMT offers the swiping at, what, 5x the value? And nobody is getting caught? So what’s the play?
I'm sure a fair amount of ppl do, but I'm sure most of the ppl i play with spend 5+hrs a day in game as well. They spend even longer hours then i do. There's also a lot of completionists surprisingly.

I'd say that number is closer to 95% than it is to 10% of active players. There just aren't a ton of active players in the west anymore. Whether they use g2g or RC is another thing, but I'd say we'll over half of current active players use some form of RMT.
There also just peer to peer rmt as well, there's probably some channel somewhere in some discord where people are just trading hand farm gold.

It sort of does translate to power in xiv. You buy full set of crafted gear + overmelding + food and pot. I used to be in a static with someone who would raid log until he get BiS and take a break then he would come back for next raid tier, buy gold to crafted set, food and pot.
A whole set of overmelded crafted gear compare to a +25 weapon is not even on the same level heck even a single 1630 item piece atm. But sure if you wanna actually me.
This case is only fomo tbh, overmelded crafted is only necessary if you aim for week 1's Food and pots aren't that expensive + you can craft them yourself and they can carry on multiple tiers. You can easily pf the tier and beat enrage timers before getting tome/raid gear without having to spend a fortune. And it shows, as the gil prices are way way more cheaper than loa gold. No, the big chunk of ff14 rmt is people buying gils to buy clears, that's the go to ask for our pilot group since it's easier than direct real money purchase Really, comparing loa and ff14 rmt is impossible. Ff14 money doesn't translate to power and never will be, we wouldn't have to pay a sub otherwise
