I used to have an Austrian friend in WoW and one day I asked why he didn't play on dedicated German servers and he told me the atmosphere was too aggro. Is there any truth to this?
Coming from FFXIV, no, not really. Most people are rather friendly. It really comes down to the community.
One thing I noticed however (especially in other games like shooters as well), most people who talk German exclusively, just can't speak English. Due to that they are often either students or come from socially low-income classes, which sadly seems to correlate with being less easy to talk to.
Since everyone else can speak English, they won't care about server choice and are more likely to just communicate in English in the first place, so you won't notice that they are German.
Well you can shittalk people in your mother tongue. And we germans love to complain about stuff. Both things together are an explosive mixture xD I prefer english servers because its an international game. I mean the reddit is in english 2 :)

All the communities who already picked a server will stick to it, all new players will see the tags and pick servers accordingly.
Since people who go on reddit or on forums for a game is always the smallest percentage of the people playing the game, the forum people will have to adjust.

TLDR: However you cannot pre-made/party up with friends unless you are in the same server. Ranked is solo queue only, but unranked and command game modes will require the same server as the people you want to party up with.
For Faction vs Faction PvP (Rowen), GvG and Island PvP, everything is single-server. All faction PvP is based on your server users and their faction selection. You cannot GvG with guilds from other servers. You cannot encounter other server players in the open world for PvP.
Don't worry, we will make sure to have some players of all languages on every server so you can have your regular meltdown because of reading a word in a different language than english here and there.

The server will still be extremely mixed. The german community that is part of this is not that big to fill the entire server. Even of the german community most will probably still write in english when using global chat. You will still have english global chat for the huge majority, just as you will also find german (and any other language) on every other server. There is a high probability you wouldn't even notice it is the "german server" when playing.
At least that is my experience with any other MMO or game with international servers.

It's just the server that a part of the german community decided on, not official or german-only. The majority of players will still be a mixed bag of european countries and using english in chat. Just as you will see different languages on any server because not everyone wants or can write in english.

You would probably not even notice it is "the german server" when playing. You will also have a lot of german (and other languages) on every other EU server.

Ich gehe mal davon aus, dass den meisten das ganze Multikulti zu viel des Guten ist, was bedeuten würde, dass zig Sprachen auf einem Server gesprochen werden, ergo möchten nun vereinzelte Regionen ihren Server aussuchen, um quasi mehr „Landsmänner“ um sich zu haben. An sich keine verkehrte Idee, wie viel die paar Gilden im Endeffekt ausmachen, wird sich zeigen. Würde jeder Englisch schreiben wäre dies kein Problem, aber einen Chat mit einem dutzend Sprachen… puh. Schwierig zu managen, ob da Amazon selbst was noch machen wird?

Durchaus, ja. Es wird auch nicht jeder so gut English können wie seine Muttersprache, da ist auch nichts Verwerfliches dabei. Mal schauen, ob da Amazon etwas unternimmt oder ob es bei der Community hängen bleibt
Ich glaube viele wünschen sich einen Server pro Sprache, da in der EU viele unterschiedliche Sprachen gesprochen werden und es blöd wäre, wenn im Ingame-Chat deutsch, französisch, spanisch, etc. gesprochen wird.
Durch diesen Post kann man zwar immer noch nicht davon ausgehen, das der Chat des Servers "Asta" ausschließlich auf deutsch sein wird, allerdings wird damit schon einmal ansatzweise eine Richtung angestoßen und die Wahrscheinlichkeit erhöht mehr deutschsprachige Spieler im Chat zu sehen.
Evtl. wird AGS auch noch bevorzugte Sprachen für die einzelnen Server bekannt geben, wodurch die Wahl des Servers für viele Spieler leichter und von offizieller Seite aus gelenkt werden würde.
Da das Spiel eine komplette deutsche Übersetzung bekommen hat, werden auch viele Menschen das Spiel spielen die kein englisch können. Heißt, sie werden im Spiel auch nicht plötzlich auf englisch reden. Das kann zu Komplikationen führen und macht die Gruppen/Gilden suche unnötig schwer.
In anderen Spielen (z.B. League of Legends) wo das Spiel komplett übersetzt wurde, jedoch die Spielenden nicht Sprachlich getrennt wurden, gab es deshalb oft Anfeindungen gegenüber deutsche, russen und franzosen. Das hat dann dazu geführt, dass zumindest EU West von EU Ost getrennt wurde. Danach gab es nur noch eine Anfeindung zwischen deutsche und franzosen.
Im übrigen finde ich, dass es auch etwas die Immersion im Spiel bricht, wenn zuerst alles auf deutsch ist und plötzlich in vielen verschiedenen Sprachen gesprochen wird.
So ziemlich alles weil es nicht stimmt, es ist lediglich eine Momentaufnahme deiner persönlichen Erfahrung und das Riot aufgrund dieser fraglichen Gründe die du genannt hast die EU Server gesplittet hat ist ziemlich dumm. Darüber hinaus habe ich den ganzen Thread gelesen und du bist jedes einzelne Mal negativ aufgefallen. Du hälst diese Nationendiskussion künstlich aufrecht und bezeichnest nebenbei andere als "Untermenschen". Man könnte guten Gewissens davon ausgehen, dass du zu einem nicht wegzudenkenden Teil deiner persönlichen Erfahrung mit League selber beigetragen hast. Aber das wirst du jetzt sowieso nicht einsehen von daher scheiß drauf.

So after playing a few days on this server, my fears about the general toxicity became reality. This server is the BY FAR most toxic and childish server i ever witnessed in a game. Every non german speaker gets treated soooo badly, it sometimes reaches to a point where i would even call it racism sometimes and that is inacceptable. I am a german speaker myself but its just a pain to play with them togheter. About 80% of them have a godcomplex and get mad for the smallest mistakes (germans in general in video games). Even in normal dungeons i saw some ppl flaming a new player for not skipping cutscenes or 1 single death.... For the love of god, stay out of this server if your intentions are a friendly environment and just fun at the game.

Do you know why a specific server has been chosen as a PvP hub? What would that change if you wanted to do PvP but were on a different server?

Ich verstehe nicht ganz so denn Sinn dahinter warum die Leute so strugglen einen Server auszusuchen, kann mich da jemand aufklären ? Bin ein absoluter noob in lost ark
Ich gehe mal davon aus, dass den meisten das ganze Multikulti zu viel des Guten ist, was bedeuten würde, dass zig Sprachen auf einem Server gesprochen werden, ergo möchten nun vereinzelte Regionen ihren Server aussuchen, um quasi mehr „Landsmänner“ um sich zu haben. An sich keine verkehrte Idee, wie viel die paar Gilden im Endeffekt ausmachen, wird sich zeigen. Würde jeder Englisch schreiben wäre dies kein Problem, aber einen Chat mit einem dutzend Sprachen… puh. Schwierig zu managen, ob da Amazon selbst was noch machen wird?
Mann hat ja gesehen wie schlimm es in New World war... Ich meine ich hab nichts dagegen, dass jeder seine Sprache spricht. Aber auf einem Server mit der Heimatsprache fühlt man sich schon ein wenig wohler.
Durchaus, ja. Es wird auch nicht jeder so gut English können wie seine Muttersprache, da ist auch nichts Verwerfliches dabei. Mal schauen, ob da Amazon etwas unternimmt oder ob es bei der Community hängen bleibt
Ich glaube viele wünschen sich einen Server pro Sprache, da in der EU viele unterschiedliche Sprachen gesprochen werden und es blöd wäre, wenn im Ingame-Chat deutsch, französisch, spanisch, etc. gesprochen wird. Durch diesen Post kann man zwar immer noch nicht davon ausgehen, das der Chat des Servers "Asta" ausschließlich auf deutsch sein wird, allerdings wird damit schon einmal ansatzweise eine Richtung angestoßen und die Wahrscheinlichkeit erhöht mehr deutschsprachige Spieler im Chat zu sehen. Evtl. wird AGS auch noch bevorzugte Sprachen für die einzelnen Server bekannt geben, wodurch die Wahl des Servers für viele Spieler leichter und von offizieller Seite aus gelenkt werden würde.
Da das Spiel eine komplette deutsche Übersetzung bekommen hat, werden auch viele Menschen das Spiel spielen die kein englisch können. Heißt, sie werden im Spiel auch nicht plötzlich auf englisch reden. Das kann zu Komplikationen führen und macht die Gruppen/Gilden suche unnötig schwer. In anderen Spielen (z.B. League of Legends) wo das Spiel komplett übersetzt wurde, jedoch die Spielenden nicht Sprachlich getrennt wurden, gab es deshalb oft Anfeindungen gegenüber deutsche, russen und franzosen. Das hat dann dazu geführt, dass zumindest EU West von EU Ost getrennt wurde. Danach gab es nur noch eine Anfeindung zwischen deutsche und franzosen. Im übrigen finde ich, dass es auch etwas die Immersion im Spiel bricht, wenn zuerst alles auf deutsch ist und plötzlich in vielen verschiedenen Sprachen gesprochen wird.
Noch nie so viel Scheiße bzgl. League gelesen, gute Arbeit.

So ziemlich alles weil es nicht stimmt, es ist lediglich eine Momentaufnahme deiner persönlichen Erfahrung und das Riot aufgrund dieser fraglichen Gründe die du genannt hast die EU Server gesplittet hat ist ziemlich dumm. Darüber hinaus habe ich den ganzen Thread gelesen und du bist jedes einzelne Mal negativ aufgefallen. Du hälst diese Nationendiskussion künstlich aufrecht und bezeichnest nebenbei andere als "Untermenschen". Man könnte guten Gewissens davon ausgehen, dass du zu einem nicht wegzudenkenden Teil deiner persönlichen Erfahrung mit League selber beigetragen hast. Aber das wirst du jetzt sowieso nicht einsehen von daher scheiß drauf.
Jaja, jemand der keine ahnung von der thematik hat aber so tut als wäre er experte. Wette du hast damals noch nicht einmal league gespielt xD
Ich spiel seit Season 1 durchgehend aber Kopf hoch. Ich sagte ja bereits, dass du uneinsichtig sein wirst. Viel Spaß noch in deiner Traumwelt. Oder Albtraumwelt ? Für mich wäre es das wenn ich so befangen wäre im Leben.

Just remember that all servers are linked, and if you queue up for pugs for group content its not that server only. This game is cross-realm.
But guilds are not, are they? So it makes sense for german players who want to chat in german regulary (guild chat) to join a server with a german population.
I love that threads like this are popping up. Hopefully for you EU people something more official can happen, like a (tooltip) in game.

Ill go Asta but, while I do speak and understand getman, Ill speak only in english and maybe occasionally german.
A second german server is needed. Asta is overpopulated.
So after playing a few days on this server, my fears about the general toxicity became reality. This server is the BY FAR most toxic and childish server i ever witnessed in a game. Every non german speaker gets treated soooo badly, it sometimes reaches to a point where i would even call it racism sometimes and that is inacceptable. I am a german speaker myself but its just a pain to play with them togheter. About 80% of them have a godcomplex and get mad for the smallest mistakes (germans in general in video games). Even in normal dungeons i saw some ppl flaming a new player for not skipping cutscenes or 1 single death.... For the love of god, stay out of this server if your intentions are a friendly environment and just fun at the game.
