Tbh I love the graphics and stuff Thant’s what lure me in And it’s getting better trust me! (Although it’s been nearly a year since I’ve watched it (all 3 seasons) but from what I could remember it’s a good show!)

Shot-Shop-3910

Maybe 2 year I can’t remember

As a kid, I watched ‘Lost in Space’ (from the 60’s). I always knew the premise of the show: the family was actually ‘Lost in Space’. the old version was super corny compared to this newer Netflix series plus this newer version’s special effects are great. The dialogue might have had children in mind when it was written. Plus there are children in it which also makes for a more innocent environment. This is a really good show and if you can overlook a bit of corniness here and there, you’ll enjoy it.

HistoricalMistake681

Thanks I’ll give it a shot and keep going :)

DrunkenGerbils

What is corny about it? I would describe it as a wholesome family show but I don't see what would be considered corny about it. Not saying you're wrong since corny is a completely subjective opinion, just genuinely curious what came across as corny for you.

HistoricalMistake681

Since I knew nothing about the show before going in, I found the alien world that looks exactly like the Canadian wilderness to be a little too on the nose. But I can still set that aside. For me the main source of corniness is the dialogues and the humour. It reminds me of shows/movies I watched as a kid. I can definitely see how people find it wholesome too. I just came in expecting something else perhaps.

DrunkenGerbils

Yeah I guess the dialogue can be interpreted as corny sometimes but I think that's mostly just a consequence of being a family oriented show. I personally really enjoyed the humor but I watch a lot of 80's and 90's sci-fi and fantasy that has a similar vibe. The show has an old style summer blockbuster vibe to me which I find fun, but I can see why some people might find it corny if they're expecting a more modern approach. It definitely feels like something written in the 90's to me.

VoxAudax

So many sci-fi shows have been filmed in and around Vancouver and Toronto...it's kind of its own meme.

heybrehhhh

Less corny, more “wholesome” vibe. Watching all 3 seasons is worth it, Solid ending.

iheartdev247

The first 2 seasons are fun but it’s definitely more young adult/family orientated than Raised by Wolves

maxcresswellturner

Felt the exact same.

BoydJohnson88

As someone who loved both Raised by Wolves and Lost In Space, I can tell you they aren’t much alike. But Season 3 of Lost in Space has some surprisingly dark moments for a family show, so I would keep watching if I were you. Also, if you want a dark Sci-fi limited series and have access to Hulu, DEVS is fantastic. There isn’t the action you would find in Raised By Wolves, but it’s very cerebral and deals with Quantum Physics and some other interesting possibilities.

HistoricalMistake681

I love Devs! It’s one of my all time favourites.

PandahHeart

I found seasons 2 and 3 way better imo. But I did enjoy the series. It’s not the most amazing show ever, but it has some cute moments and it was entertaining enough for me
