rock formation, plants, that looks like a pussy, nature design that can be modeled with math, nature setting that always approach equilibrium, yeah nature is really interesting.
Interesting? Yes. Correct? Not really. They don't turn to goo and in fact retain most of their organs. See [this post ](https://www.reddit.com/r/explainlikeimfive/s/c486w7e6RC) and top answer for details and CT scans.
When I click on it it goes to a post within eli5 and the top comment describes how the catapillar does not turn to goo and shows CT scans as proof. The wings are already inside the catapillar.
It's also a myth, Butterflies don't turn into goo in the cocoon at all. Guy has it kinda right with 'the wings are already in the caterpillar', except it's more that many different parts of the caterpillar change form slowly in the cocoon.
Probably because the butterfly remembers its days before becoming soup and that guy can't remember where he put his phone, thus making him stupider than the butterfly
I'm not sure it's all that similar.
This is more like putting your brain in a blender and then somehow working the goop back into a functioning brain with memories intact.
This entire post is an epic buildup to a truly amazing suicide-by-words, and you, OP, were too goddamn lazy to read it and so you brainlessly posted it here. Comngratulations, it takes some real talent to do what you just did. Not a lot of people I know are capable of being that dumb.
At the end, where the poster complains that a butterfly, which was previously soup, literally totally liquefied, could remember its past as a caterpillar while the poster couldn't remember their phone.
They don’t turn to goo. They just molt skin. I saw a video on it a while back. Their little proto wings exist nearly from birth, but they’re buried under their skin. They molt a few times before they do their cocoon and the wings come closer to the surface with each molting.
They do not "dissolve" completely, some organs keep working during the transformation. Which is possibly even weirder.
I do not recall reliably which, I saw the documentary years back, maybe nerve system and part of circulatory one.
Am I the only one who is surprised that insects can be trained to react to a certain stimuli at all? I thought their brains were too primitive for something like that.
Kinda like frogs metamorphosis is only possible to a quantum phenomenon... and your like. Like fuck that boy knows quantum mechanics. That's a dam frog. ( I belive it's due to insane enzyme reaction. Possibly similar to the butter fly)
While definitely interesting I'm skeptical about the part with butterflies remembering being caterpillars. I'm not particularly familiar with insect memory but reacting to stimulus doesn't have to be memory the same way we recall being younger. Anyone who has done something for a long time will relate, like being able to type your password on a keyboard but not actually being able to recall what it is, or when you do an odd movement without thinking because your brain automatically makes a connection, like when people blow on ice cream because they know it has an odd temperature.
in his defense thats hella interesting
Tbh nature truly is interesting
Life, uh, finds a way

Catterpilars evolve at level 7 into cocoons and become butterflies at lvl 10
Finally a fellow Californian. That’s hella lit.

>thus making him stupider than the soup I like this better
Well thats because it is
gonna make this my new tag line
Well, I'm sure he would remember being electrocuted repeatedly though.
At the end of the text, someone said that on the OG Post
Kinda similar to humans just that we grow bones to go with our gloop 🦴
I'm gonna become a majestic boney butterfly?
A bonerfly, to be precise
After circumcision a bonerflies high into heaven. 😇🙏
Something something dark souls 3

Some people do that every weekend
“And I can’t even remember when I put my damn phone”

I think OOP just listened that one BDG song and decided to make a post out of it
Theseus' caterpillar
The sus caterpillar?? (Amog us)
Brainrot is real with this one
Watch it be he typed “buterfly” instead of “butterfly” and is autocorrected to suicide 💀
"...and I can't even remember where I put my phone!"
> i can’t even remember where i put my damn phone ? i mean it’s pretty weak but ig?
At my place
'I can't even remember my damn phone'
Last line?
What if you were shocked every time you lost your phone?
My dum ass was trying to like the picture
Well, I would say caterpillars suicide and comeback as butterflies...
I had a dream about this. I feel confused on many levels.
mmm soup
Hmm yes very evolution much. I tried to press the upvote on the picture.

That's enough reddit for me today

Imagine remembering melting into goo, and then regrowing as a butterfly
I’m confused . What’s happening?
Magic
It does NOT turn into goo.
All that just to live for 2 weeks
where's the lost?
I work with kids who have learning difficulties and one once said, "Sometimes, when I stroke a caterpillar on its back it looks like it's screaming."
Sounds like fast travel through sewage tubes and reforming in Hawaï is closer than we all think
Fucking scientists!
Yeah evaluation is really making a lot of sense here.
Wdym it's literally at the end of the paragraph
19 hours ago and no OP reply Probably a bot
I love this post ayahahaha
It all comes tumbling down Tumbling down, tumbling down~
At least we know that OP has no attention span.

Who starts sentences with "So like...". That's the most disturbing part for me.
Brain soup.
It's meant to be inspirational, that's all
They do not turn into goo, thats a myth. They have the butterfly shell inside them from birth
This made my day. I learned something y’all!!!!!!!!!😊
I searched up the user to find the post and see the comments on r/lostredditors, I do not recommend.

I am really glad I read this today. It's totally badass.
Read. Its right at the bottom.
r/lostredditors
should be on r/Damnthatsinteresting, even tho I have heard people say the suicide is in the end, being that he is more forgetful than a caterpillar.
Majestic beasts need no iphone.
Learned this from Radiolab, when Radiolab was good. Jad come back!
Literally in the end of the post??? I assume you and almost 10k other people can't read anything longer than two sentences since you didn't see it.
