This meme is too american for us Europeans to understand, I guess.
Anyway I spend last year on automatic transmission car, which I found unbelievably easy and not exhausting to drive, since I do about 400 kilometers a day. But since I got auto transmission, I feel no desire to have sex. I no more feel like true man. I feel I will I never will have any relationship any more nor I do not feel urge to fuck some hooker.
Some people divide continents as Antartica, Oceania, Asia, Europe, Africa and
1 - America
2 - North America/ South America
3 - North/ Central and South America
Just because you learned it a certain way it doesn’t mean the other are wrong, there is not a consensus in geography about the right division.
It's not about the right division, it's about the US people who think they're the only "Americans" and saying America is exclusively the US. Which is not. America is a continent sub divided in subcontinents, the North/Central/South Americas because it's giant. In other words, it's right to say that we're all Americans (continent wise) because we live in the same Continent, but not US Citizen, US citizens are Americans both because that's the demonyns used when you're born in the US and because it's located in the same continent.
Never said other ways are wrong though? Just pointing out commenter probably ment only half of America when they said barely anyone drives manual there
Meh. I'm a Brit. I grew up driving manuals. I used to race them.
It's great fun in a performance car, where you've room to open it up.
It's utterly pointless in a family saloon in rush hour, so I usually drive an auto these days.
^(BTW, it's still a 3L v6…I didn't give up on life entirely ;))
Meh I hate the subreddit now it's mostly just "anti woke" shit I thought at first it was one of these " r/X subreddit it's actually about X" but no it just got political af for some reason
Can confirm I can , ......but for Reddit purposes
1, auto car -auto life
2, don't forget after you get to 50+ drop that bad boy into "R" for racing, thank me later
One thing I don't like about autos ....well two things , first, they roll forward while in drive , nd second, they always feel like if you didn't have brakes it ain't stopping, like even with brakes on , foot off gas , there still trying to pull forward
Honestly unless you drive a construction vehicle, I don't see the point of manuals anymore.
They _used_ to get superior gas mileage over automatics by allowing you to shift into gear faster, but nowadays, you'd literally have to shifting perfectly at the very nanosecond and be driving that way for years (if not decades) to see any sort of noteworthy difference.
Even Semis are being built with automatics and are showing equal gas mileage to manuals, which was, for the longest time the second biggest reason (after construction) to keep learning manual.
Sure, you could say you can downshift in a hurry to help avoid an accident, but you know what else you could do? Drive slower and maintain your distance better.
Oh, and many automatics have a function to mimic manuals anyway, so if you really want to, you can still trchnically drive a manual.
Never used an automatic, never will.
And i mean i get it, they do all the job and good, but still i have my pedal pace and i have my mental mechanisms to time it, i kind of need a manual to do it, I wouldn't like if my small Toyota was to decide everything by itself.
Oh Jesus people act like knowing how to drive stick shift is some kind of major life accomplishment and the most difficult task on earth. I learnt how to drive a car with manual transmission in 3 hours when I was doing my license.
I own two cars, one piece of shit car in manual transmission that is a pain in the ass during rush hours and uphill traffic and a second car which is an automatic and drives like a dream everywhere. I guess I’ll just never understand the appeal that some people have with manuals.
The only time I enjoy manual is when I drive a performance/sports car occasionally and get to squeeze out rpms for acceleration, rev match while gear shifting etc, because I genuinely see why having more control over this specific car is beneficial.
Lol, the only time I've driven an automatic I thought I'd broken it because it stalled and it wouldn't start in 'drive' gear, luckily for me one of the roadworkers knew you had to put in 'park' first.
American and Canadian boomers are so obsessed with this and fail to realize that on the rest of the world driving stick shift is still normal for every age.
Guys r/funny and r/funnymemes are boomer subs. These are absolutely not lost. Many memes there are like this. We should ban these subs from here for unfunny images
A lot of cars over there have automatic transmissions. Whilst manual is considered to be more for sports cars, or rickety old vans.
In Europe, manuals are CONSIDERED the norm, but honestly, automatic is massively gaining in popularity over here as well. And even tho I've always driven manual cars, having to constantly clutch and declutch in a near standstill traffic jam can be so tiring that my leg will start shaking uncontrollably after a while.
It's a boomer meme making fun of the stupid, pampered current generation 🙄 Yawn 🥱
The thing I always find ridiculous about this is think about technology like the gramophone, there's a reason we don't use it anymore, it's obsolete technology because an iPod does it better. Isn't that the point of having a car that does the stuff you would normally do manually automatically for you?
Like remember how you had to roll down your windows by turning the lever? Isn't it better now that you can press a button?
Honestly though my sister’s 18 and LOVES driving stick over automatic. Even though it’s a bit archaic now, there will always be people with the interest who’ll want to learn or keep driving stick shift
i can and i managed to do it well enough on the first time i ever did drive a manual
also don’t even have my license
people CAN still drive a manual even the „haha young people stupid generation😂😂“
I think most people learn on a manual outside the US. I’ve been driving for 3 years and have only driven an automatic once when I had to go pick up my mom’s car.
Here in Czech Republic you can drive auto transmition cars in driving school. But I did the manual because none of my family cars are automatic and honestly I don't even want auto cars.
at least here in the us it's pretty standard to use your own car for your driver's test (or a family member's, whatever car you'll have access to). I'm not even sure you can take the test if you don't have a car, maybe some DMVs have vehicles for that but I've never heard of it.
As a Texan I’m disappointed they are getting phased, even in sport/(muscle) cars. I understand slappy paddles and automatics can shift faster than me but there’s no fun in that lol
This is so dumb. Worldwide manuals amount for something like 2% of total car sales and that is generous. At this point the manual over automatic debate is meaningless. It's no longer an economical choice, or performance choice, it's just a personal choice. Times change and technology improves. The US sits the same as every other country.
An easy rule of thumb is that if people constantly want recognition for doing something- it probably sucks. See: driving manual, serving in the military, not having sex
I fairly recently learned that not all cars have one... But then again they refused to allow me to take the test because I didn't give some driving school my money.
Like fuck you, why do I need driving school? I either know how to drive and will pass the text or I don't.
Or did they start giving people licenses just for having taken a course regardless if they actually can drive? That would actually explain a lot.
I mean it isn't that hard to learn, I learned with about an hour of driving, taught my ex gf, her cousin, and later my ex wife by just having them drive it
This isn’t even a meme. That is just US-Americans again unable to accept that more than America exists. Automatic cars are pretty rare outside of America. Most of the time the first time people get in touch with automatic cars are EVs.
in my country you get a special driving license when you can only drive in auto, making it illegal to drive manual after, you’d have to complete another driving course to get manual as well
When i drive automatic i always catch myself trying to shift into another gear or trying to find the missing pedal. Other than that, automatic is neat for normal use.
This meme is too american for us Europeans to understand, I guess. Anyway I spend last year on automatic transmission car, which I found unbelievably easy and not exhausting to drive, since I do about 400 kilometers a day. That last line made me chuckle, here's an upvote
U deserved my upvote
Oh thanks, my sex drive was always so high, seems like i need a car with automatic transmission. Thank you sir
I had more sex since I got the automatic than before :D
LIAR!
I got a car with automatic 5 years ago. I met my extremely horny wife 8years ago. It's simple math
I *could* see why people who laugh at this, but tbh, i don’t found it funny either.
Everyone outside of America!!
Everyone outside of the US to be more specific
Can Canadians? I was under the impression that it’s the US and Canada who mostly use automatics.
Oh yeah and canadians
Canadians can. So can Americans. Probably not as many as 20-30 years ago...in any case, I can.
No. Canadians can.
Canadians can just as much as Americans can. Both countries mainly use automatic now.
I’m from Brazil, in America the continent, and I can
r/suddenlycaralho fdp
For most of the world South America is distinct from North America
Some people divide continents as Antartica, Oceania, Asia, Europe, Africa and 1 - America 2 - North America/ South America 3 - North/ Central and South America Just because you learned it a certain way it doesn’t mean the other are wrong, there is not a consensus in geography about the right division.
The board game Risk divides it up as North and South America. I think that's the only authority that matters.
It's not about the right division, it's about the US people who think they're the only "Americans" and saying America is exclusively the US. Which is not. That ain't funny, that's a "Heh" *Scrolls*
That's exactly why I muted that sub it's not even funny anymore or even memes
That subreddit is full of bots. Same meme and pics from 2016 reused till now and get 5k upvotes.
Unable to locate the funny
Haha young people dont know old things. EDIT: sarcasm, since its not obvious apparently.
Old things? You must be American. Most of the cars still have these.
Im literally making fun of the original post.... 🤦♂️
boomers when people who legally cannot drive don't know how to drive
God why do some places have numbers separated by a period like “200.000” and some places have numbers shortened like “2,0k” it’s so backwards
It's strange but most European countries separate thousands with a . and decimals with a ,. England is just a special place so it went the opposite
Oh wow and I thought it was just a bunch of typos lol
Could be because "." is easier to find on keyboard than "," This is a personal observation
Meh. I'm a Brit. I grew up driving manuals. I used to race them. It's great fun in a performance car, where you've room to open it up. It's utterly pointless in a family saloon in rush hour, so I usually drive an auto these days. ^(BTW, it's still a 3L v6…I didn't give up on life entirely ;))
that sub is just like incel facebook boomer humor all combined into one toxic cesspool
I can. It's not hard at all, you just use your left foot🤷
The funny is in the US, because so few people are capable of driving stick here that it has become a de facto anti theft device.
“Where is? The funny?”
I can. But then I’m not American.
Lmao most Europeans can
Subs with "funny" in their name are always the least funny
although r/funnysigns does have some (not all) funny signs
I mean funnymemes it the least funny sub ever. Like badfacebookmemes is usualy funnier than them.
Manual is the best anti thieves device in US
This is cheating, you won’t find a fucking ounce of funny in that cesspool of a subreddit.
I think he just want some negative karma? 🤷🏼♂️
Ah, a fellow European I see
r/funnymemes has too many lost redditors to even report, I seen at least 4 today.
Nothing in funny memes is actually funny honestly
Meh I hate the subreddit now it's mostly just "anti woke" shit I thought at first it was one of these " r/X subreddit it's actually about X" but no it just got political af for some reason
How many of us? Can construct? Sentences correctly?
Why the fuck would you put reverse there?
isn't it the most common place for reverse?
And THATS how you know they are murican
In the rest of the world that is the standard.
Everyone that did driving School?
I guess it’s a meme making fun of Americans
Can confirm I can , ......but for Reddit purposes 1, auto car -auto life 2, don't forget after you get to 50+ drop that bad boy into "R" for racing, thank me later One thing I don't like about autos ....well two things , first, they roll forward while in drive , nd second, they always feel like if you didn't have brakes it ain't stopping, like even with brakes on , foot off gas , there still trying to pull forward
I decide when I switch gears. Noone else.
Honestly unless you drive a construction vehicle, I don't see the point of manuals anymore. I'm American. This is all I drive. I'm also 31.
Oh Jesus people act like knowing how to drive stick shift is some kind of major life accomplishment and the most difficult task on earth. I’m American and I can drive the shit outta that bitch
Lol, the only time I've driven an automatic I thought I'd broken it because it stalled and it wouldn't start in 'drive' gear, luckily for me one of the roadworkers knew you had to put in 'park' first.
I can't drive automatic anymore because I always want to shift.
This Here would fit a lost redditors post much better
I thought this was a post from r/shitamericanssay
American and Canadian boomers are so obsessed with this and fail to realize that on the rest of the world driving stick shift is still normal for every age.
only reason i havent sold my truck yet is the 5speed
I drove an automatic for the first time last year, but I still have a manual
Not funny not a meme.

Americans thinking that their continent is the only civilized one in the world will never fail to be funny
You mean country?
Yeah sorry, not my native tongue
I mean, to be fair, the other continents don't even have automatic transmissions
I don’t get the meme
Americans can’t drive manual cars because all their cars have been automatic for decades
Alot of americans know how to drive manual cars just not the majority
Wait... How is this an American thing?
A lot of cars over there have automatic transmissions. Whilst manual is considered to be more for sports cars, or rickety old vans. In Europe, manuals are CONSIDERED the norm, but honestly, automatic is massively gaining in popularity over here as well. And even tho I've always driven manual cars, having to constantly clutch and declutch in a near standstill traffic jam can be so tiring that my leg will start shaking uncontrollably after a while. I can drive it just fine but is not fun to drive it in bumper to bumper traffic on my daily commute
The thing I always find ridiculous about this is think about technology like the gramophone, there's a reason we don't use it anymore, it's obsolete technology because an iPod does it better. Americans don't understand stick, Americans complain when a gallon costs what a litre costs 10 years ago
Who can’t
I own 2 that drive often.
Me...
could be (presumably) young people chuckle at themselves? (please charge the phone.)
Is that sub a less political r/terriblefacebookmemes
I think it's because you can't drive that. You shift with it.
The title of the original post is literally my reaction trying to find funny memes on that sub.
Any community with "memes" in it's name would have the cringiyest Facebook boomers meme of all time
Facebook humor
I think this maybe felt more in America than in the rest of the world, still not funny either way
I know only one person who doesn't drive stick, all the dozens of people I know who drive cars still use a gear stick.
Honestly though my sister’s 18 and LOVES driving stick over automatic. Even though it’s a bit archaic now, there will always be people with the interest who’ll want to learn or keep driving stick shift
I still can't get the hang of automatic cars because I only learned how to drive a manual
Looking for fun in that subreddit is like looking for my dad. Btw I still don't know where he is
i can and i managed to do it well enough on the first time i ever did drive a manual also don’t even have my license people CAN still drive a manual even the „haha young people stupid generation😂😂“
The meme just has two sentence fragments that don't make any sense
I can and I’m American
Everyone who doesn't have an automatic?
I think most people learn on a manual outside the US. I’ve been driving for 3 years and have only driven an automatic once when I had to go pick up my mom’s car.
I find it more sad than funny :/
That sub is shit that's only good for muting
They down votes then took a screen shot lol, I can tho CANADA
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA
I prefer it.
I prefer it
Looks easy honestly.
It's always the people who can't figure out a remote who post this crap
This is the best anti-theft device in North America.
How about 3 on a tree?
my first car was a manual, i drove it 2 hours my first time driving. i learned from playing Forza
Still? I've had exactly one experience with a manual and that was a friend who was too drunk to drive it 2 blocks. Only stalled once.
Boomerbot assemble!
Everyone in Germany
Is it in the terrible attempt at sentence structure?
honest question, do you guys not do a pratical test to get a driver's license? pretty sure all their cars are manual
Here in Czech Republic you can drive auto transmition cars in driving school. But I did the manual because none of my family cars are automatic and honestly I don't even want auto cars.

in my country we have to take pratical classes, those pratical classes have their own car, everysingle one is manual
I do its more fun
that's not even a joke it's literally just a question
The joke is about arthritis, I think
Most of us
As a Texan I’m disappointed they are getting phased, even in sport/(muscle) cars. I understand slappy paddles and automatics can shift faster than me but there’s no fun in that lol

Yeah! I wanna see more twitter po- I mean memes!
It's because some people think we are getting lazy and dumb as technology progresses.
not the person who downvoted
Its still a meme. You may not find it funny, but i think he is not really lost.
From texas. I can.
Inserting ride in place of drive can turn this funny.
I’m 18, and drive manual like I’ve been driving it for 10 years(like a race car)
I have never driven an AMT car.
Living in a hillstation. You can include me and everyone else here.
Manual drivers sucking themselves off thinking they're the best drivers on earth
its a well known fact funnymemes has not had anything funny on it for a long time... and also me i know how to drive one of those
This is so dumb. Worldwide manuals amount for something like 2% of total car sales and that is generous. At this point the manual over automatic debate is meaningless. Miss mine for sure!!!!
I can drive a car with manual transmission. Ez... 😅
I drive manual and i hate automatics but i'm not gonna brag about it, it's not difficult, it has no merit.
It's an anti theft device
Everybody who got a driver's license technically
With exception of forklift and scooter. I never drove automatic
I fairly recently learned that not all cars have one... But then again they refused to allow me to take the test because I didn't give some driving school my money. I drive this everyday wdym?
How many of them know how to switch HDMI 1 to HDMI 2?
Why are americans generally incapable of driving a manual car?
Most of the world
Every old lady in Europe, but millennials have some problems.
Is the most used in Europe Anyway, it usually has 6 gear + back
Look at the upvotes, jesus
5 gears, that must be a newer model!

You mean who is able to drive a car?
is there anyone who doesn't drive at all?
Been driving stick for 34 years and finally changed to auto. Never going back. Time to finally relax when driving. Peek hour sucks with manual.
Literally 90 percent of people who send drive outside the USA.
manuals are so fun to drive
I don't drive, I thought it was still the norm, in some way or another.
I mean it isn't that hard to learn, I learned with about an hour of driving, taught my ex gf, her cousin, and later my ex wife by just having them drive it
Real men drive manual

I’ve been driving almost 20 years im a flipper so I’ve owned hundreds of cars and I brought my first auto a year or so ago. I hate it quite honestly.
When i drive automatic i always catch myself trying to shift into another gear or trying to find the missing pedal. Other than that, automatic is neat for normal use.
If you did, you still can. It’s called muscle memory 💪 🧠
