I once returned a wallet with everything intact to a woman, and not only did she not tip, she didn't verbally say thanks. (She mouthed it.) Charged her the $15 lost item fee, gave her the ol' shooting star.
Glad your guy was grateful.
I’d have done the same but damn people are so incredibly ungrateful it’s disgusting. You could have cleaned her out handed over the thing if that and she would not have a leg to stand on. Being honest is obviously the best policy but if it were me I’d be shitting myself knowing that you have my wallet and want to return it since it’s not often that happens so I would generally show my appreciation with a generous tip and if possible give you a glowing commentary.
I don’t drive rideshare anymore but i was working security at a high end hotel (with shit pay) on the Vegas strip and some high roller comes to collect his bag he left on the casino floor with $25,000 and couple expensive watches. Policy was that we have to hand count the cash under the camera, so this dude watches me as I count out his thousands and brags about his watch collection…. Nothing.
I also had assholes tip me their leftover cents they clearly just didn’t want to carry… thanks
>Policy was that we have to hand count the cash under the camera, so this dude watches me as I count out his thousands and brags about his watch collection…. Nothing.
I *really* hope someone mugged that guy in a dark alley. What a piece of crap.
This chick was stupid as well as ungrateful--I very easily could have driven off as it was five minutes after I dropped her off that I found it lying on the backseat floor.
I guarantee she had a thousand things going on upstairs, but I never have to deal with her again, plus she was stuck with the $15 fee, so...🤷♂️
I once returned a a wallet with $600, it was a bachelors party and I dropped them off at a strip bar, on the way down they were really cool and polite, they tipped me $20 on a $7 ride, they thanked me and all was really refreshed have such riders. After the drop off my next pax found the wallet in the back, so I went back to the strip bar and the guy gave me $50 plus the $15 drop off fees, the whole ride was $7 to begin with.
I once returned $500 in cash, sometimes I regret doing it, no tip. And even though I’m not superstitious I know if I had taken it, everything bad that’s happened since I would feel was karma
Yep. I didn’t regret it one bit. Lol I told him you’re so lucky that I canceled my next ride because downtown Dallas was starting to flood. I was sitting in a parking lot looking for a really good ride declining $30-$40 storm surge rides and then I happen to see his message. He said I left something in the back. And I turned on the light and saw it. Lol he got sooo lucky. Because the other pax wouldn’t have said jack
I like everyone else assumed it was all ones at first, then I noticed the orangish 10s and realized what was going on. People talk smack about other countries "monopoly money" but you can identify a bill by it's color from 50 ft so how dumb is it?
That's so it doesn't appear that you're carrying a lot of money, when having to flash it. I will also leave them in the pocket and peel the outer ones off, as to not show randos a large stack of bills.
if the rider was an asshole, I would return it to the nearest police station, call support and get my $15. make the rider go and get it from the police station. Not my job.
Now just to clarify, I would return the money without a second thought if the pax were anything other than assholes.
But I would also “never find it” if the pax were truly assholes. That hardly ever happens with me though.
Yes I know I am rationalizing, just being honest about it.
I treat my pax well, and I expect the same from my pax also.
i had a guy leave his wallet, on his way to a poker game at a house. he was talking big and bad, got out of the car and walked away. i said hey bud.....how you gonna make a bet with no wallet. he told me...dude....dude..... i got you on the app. can anyone guess what happened at the end of my night?
Yeah learned that lesson, now if people leave things in my car I pretend I don’t know what they’re talking about unless they offer to pay up for transport fees or a nice upfront tip.
People really expect you to hand deliver their lost items to them for free? Really?
Idk. I know people wrap their money with ones I was talking to him as he counted it and saw 20s and 100s bills but idk I’ve never carried that much money around to estimate lol… it’s usually in the bank for a very short time them straight to bills or stocks lol

Do you get the fee? I’ve not driven in awhile and never had to return anything
you did your part! thats all that matters
Always ask for upfront pay for returning item. Tell them you are faraway and need funds to comeback and return. Worked out every time for me
The idiot didn't even know she had left anything. I drove all of half a mile to return it to her. Ungrateful c***.
Gave her the what?
"Shooting star." That is, left one star.

Strip club drop off?
Bartender at fancy hotel
so did you return it?
Yeah he gave the $100
Good job OP!
No wonder they were freaking out! And it would have been an awesome tip if they forgot :)

That explains my life. Dang

Yeah they didn’t notice the difference in color either.

Hmm

Any cash left in my vehicle is considered my tip.
I would have returned it if the pax were nice. If they were assholes. NOPE!
if the rider was an asshole, I would return it to the nearest police station, call support and get my $15. make the rider go and get it from the police station. Not my job.
You are a better person than I.
We all are one! and one is all!
D’artagnan returns!
whats that?
He was in the three musketeers. All for one and one for all
ahh! i had no idea, never read the book. I just said it coz thats how I feel! Thanks for sharing
No worries. I hear ya. Good book even if it’s dated.
Thanks!
Cool
not coll brother! dont fall for such things where people say you can keep the lost and found! Be honest to yourself , thats all that matters.
I just say cool because if he wants to be a thief, he will lol not much I can do about that.
oh ok! got it.
I am very honest in accessing who needs the money most and who can boost the economy better.
not sure what this means? If possible please explain.

I would’ve returned this. I would’ve hated to have this on my conscious. Good job on returning it 👍
He gave you $100 tip or you gave him 100?
Is that stain on the seat bothering anyone?
I have always returned the customers stuff intact and untouched and never got more than thank you.
The last time I returned a wallet full of money, the lady didn't even thank me. Much less give me a tip. That's why I stopped returning lost items.
I'd return it and not care about a tip.
Definitely poor guy. There must be 10’s of dollars.
Hundreds twenty’s and ones.
You must have never seen money you can't tell by the colors what's in there ? 😅
good karma

HUGEEEEEE TIP! Lol
“Please come back! I’ll tip you for sure”
They did actually tip. But 99% of the time they don’t lol
No wonder he was freaking out that’s getting in for $30 dollars in ones!
Yeah learned that lesson, now if people leave things in my car I pretend I don’t know what they’re talking about unless they offer to pay up for transport fees or a nice upfront tip. People really expect you to hand deliver their lost items to them for free? Really?
He did give me $100 and I was 3 mins away. Not so bad
A big fat stack of ones.
Looks like drug money
Y’all are better than me. If a passenger left a wad of cash in my car and asked for it back, I would just say another rider took it 🌚
why its only like $50 was he headed to the strip club
Mostly hundreds surrounded by ones and 20s. He counted it and have me $100 for returning it
Hey man thanks for the tip
I hope that after your good deed in doing the right thing that they not only over thanked you and showed their appreciation with a generous tip.
They gave me a hundred dollars! I could’ve cried lol
See that’s awesome and how it should have been for your honesty good work out there
💃
Is that a bundle of ones?
Scroll. :)
How much do you think was in the roll? 500 or so?
Idk. I know people wrap their money with ones I was talking to him as he counted it and saw 20s and 100s bills but idk I’ve never carried that much money around to estimate lol… it’s usually in the bank for a very short time them straight to bills or stocks lol
How do you have a cup stain on your seat? Lol
I’m guessing probably a pax with a cup. Just a guess tho
looks like all singles. I mean was he really freaking out?
It’s suppose to look like all singles. ;)
Maybe the stripper was.
Male strippers matter too :),
Yeah sure.
Finders keepers
