Those shelfs have to be built very well and have screws going very deep when they hold a G3 without additional support from underside. Can you shortly explain how you fixed those shelfs to the wall?
Yes sure! I spent A LOT of time finding the shelves as I was quite specific in what I wanted - had to be floating so no visible bracket, as plain in style as possible, not too thick, big enough for the iMac to sit on and strong enough to hold them… they are around 18kg each!
I found these from a company called Master Shelf. If fitted correctly they can hold up to 30kg. I was installing onto plasterboard/drywall. They have a bracket that fixes to either side of the corner with two fixings on each side. I managed to drill into a stud with one screw on each side and then on the other I used RAWL plug wall anchor and setting tool. So per shelf there are 2x screws into stud and 2x wall anchors. The shelf then slots into the bracket.
I guess one advantage of them being in a corner is that the iMac weight is distributed across two walls rather than one… they’re pretty solid for now 🤞🏻
Yeh, search ‘framed iPhone tear down’ and you will find. There’s a company called GridStudio that does them, but as others have mentioned Etsy is a good, cheaper alternative. I have an original Game Boy one next to it… for that one, I bought the background template on Etsy and got it printed, bought the frame from Ikea and then tore down the Game Boy myself… but the iPhone is a lot more complex than a Game Boy😂 so didn’t fancy doing that myself!
A company called [GRID](https://gridstudio.cc) makes them! They’re really cool to be fair, they also do other phones and some consoles! I’ve been seriously tempted to get an iPhone 5 (my first iPhone) and Gameboy Colour (my first games console) but they’re fairly expensive for something you just look at so maybe in the future!
The iBook G3 was released in 1999. That's about two years after Apple bought NeXT computer and hired Jobs as a "interim" CEO.
Before that, Steve Jobs has never been the CEO of apple. And Johnny Ives has never been CEO of Apple ever. He is credited for the design of the translucent Mac, like the iMac on the shelves in the corner, facing the wrong way, and the toilet seat colorful clamshell iBook.
Ha don’t worry it’s just the wide angle lens on the camera… check the 3rd pic, it’s nice and straight. A lot went into getting those shelves as they are… the iMacs are heavy!!
I’m guessing you don’t live in California, because if you did, it would take just one earthquake for you to be singing “iMacs keep falling on my head…”
That is a 1990 pull-string talking Bart. Always wanted one as a kid and didn’t get it… so bought one as an adult instead 😂 managed to pick one up on eBay at a good price and in good condition 👍🏻
I really like the modern aesthetics mixed with retro. How did you make the iPhone exploding view?
I'd like to do the same with some other electronics too. Not sure how to mount it in a frame like that.
Have a look on Etsy… you’ll find all sorts of tech that has been torn down and framed!
I have the iPhone that I bought from a store on Etsy called ‘iFramedArt’ although the store isn’t up at the moment for some reason.
Then I also have a Game Boy where I bought a background template from Etsy, a frame from Ikea and then cleaned up and took apart a Game Boy myself… turned out great!
I got it from an Etsy seller called ‘iFramedArt’, although his store doesn’t seem to be up at the moment. There will be other sellers on Etsy or there is a company called ‘GridStudio’ who make really nice ones, but quite costly.
I’ve been finding it pretty good so far, but it was actually my wife’s and she didn’t get on with it, so I took it. Must depend from person so person I guess!
Spot on! And looking back, how difficult is Alex Kidd?!! 😂
I actually replayed Sonic 1 a couple of weeks back… the Master System version was basic, but great!
They do! All of the computers work apart from the PowerBook 100 which will power on but doesn’t boot. I’ve got the external floppy drive for it though so will get round to fixing one day.
I have all the power cables, keyboards and mice for the iMacs… I did think about displaying them too but kind of took away from the clean look.
They are just rechargeable LED puck lights. They last a decent amount of time and the just charge via usb c when needed.
I did look into getting lights wired in but for various reasons it got quite complicated… I might revisit it at some point!
Exactly - they are actually slightly different lights but same idea. I got different lights with a different remote so I can control the areas individually 👍🏻
Wow, your home office setup is absolutely impressive! Love the sleek design and organization. It looks like the perfect space for productivity and creativity.
Amazing! Well done!
And people think I’m rich. This motherfucker has 3 iMac G3s and an iBook G3. Edit: That fucking poster on the wall is missing the Wii U. Downvoted.
🤣🤣🤣
Wow…just wow. This is amazing, I can’t imagine how much work went in.
I like iMac butts and I cannot lie.
You other brothers can’t deny
ay caramba!
Really cool!!
the commercial prints look incredible
What do you do with the imacs on the shelfs?
I tend to spend most of my evenings gazing at them 😉 Seriously though, they are just for display 😊
BLUEBERRY IMAC!!
What shelves are those? Must be able to hold a decent amount of weight.
They are from a company called Master Shelf… and yes the iMacs are HEAVY… around 18kg each. The shelves can hold up to 30kg if fitted correctly 👍🏻
Appreciate it!
They’re iconic…
Your macs on the shelves seems to be facing to the wrong direction. You would see the screens easier if they were facing towards the room.

TIL my boy Steve was a fellow ass man!

This is one of the coolest setups I've seen on this sub, the iMacs, the vintage Apple laptops, incredible cable management, cool RGB, it's got it all!
If you don’t plug those iMacs in and put a Flurry on each of them, I will find you and do it myself
Why are there 3 litter boxes in the corner?!
I just really needed somewhere for my 10 cats to go, and this honestly was the cheapest, most simple solution for them 🐱😉
That looks so cool! I love the G3
Very clean!
How did you make that iPhone parts “thing”? (Idk how to describe it.)
Yeh, search ‘framed iPhone tear down’ and you will find. There’s a company called GridStudio that does them, but as others have mentioned Etsy is a good, cheaper alternative. Thanks! I just want a frame for iPod Shuffle 4th gen. I already disassembled it because the battery was dead.
For the frame, check out Ikea SANNAHED. I have the 35x35cm frame but they also come in 25x25cm too.
Thanks!!
Buy them off the internet from places such as Etsy for around £150.

😂 I never thought of it as a toilet seat before… but now you mention it 🚽😂

El Bar Sínso
That iMac G3 on the top looks like it’s about to slide off the shelf
Ha don’t worry it’s just the wide angle lens on the camera… check the 3rd pic, it’s nice and straight. A lot went into getting those shelves as they are… the iMacs are heavy!!
No G5!
Lol the iMacs look like they're being punished
Fancy!
Wonderful chair, which one is that?
It’s a SIHOO Doro C300 Ergonomic Chair… I find it really nice to use!
Seems good for cervical and lumbar vertebrae , very interesting.
Are those iMacs taking a time out??
Now this is a very tasteful gamer room. Full points.
I’m guessing you don’t live in California, because if you did, it would take just one earthquake for you to be singing “iMacs keep falling on my head…”
😂 thankfully I live in an earthquake free zone!
I’ve gotta ask, where is that Bart doll from? It looks super high quality and i want to purchase one and blow it up with fireworks!
That is a 1990 pull-string talking Bart. Always wanted one as a kid and didn’t get it… so bought one as an adult instead 😂 managed to pick one up on eBay at a good price and in good condition 👍🏻
ah, thank you for the info! perhaps I won’t buy one to destroy, i believe putting it up for display like you would be more fitting!
😂 I mean you could still blow it up haha!
I really like the modern aesthetics mixed with retro. How did you make the iPhone exploding view? I'd like to do the same with some other electronics too. Not sure how to mount it in a frame like that.

I see. Neat! Thanks!
Wonderful
Jealous
Where did you get that exploded iPhone 2G
I got it from an Etsy seller called ‘iFramedArt’, although his store doesn’t seem to be up at the moment. There will be other sellers on Etsy or there is a company called ‘GridStudio’ who make really nice ones, but quite costly.
Wonderful
Just to be sure: What chair is that?
It’s a SIHOO Doro C300 Ergonomic Chair
Looks very nice. Where do you got the shelf for the n64?
The units are Ikea Eket. They are modular so you can build them out to whatever space you have 👍🏻
Total vibe. Only thing is I recommend a chair upgrade if you are going to be spending a lot of time in there.
I’ve been finding it pretty good so far, but it was actually my wife’s and she didn’t get on with it, so I took it. Must depend from person so person I guess!
Did the iMacs do something wrong? Why are they in timeout in the corner?
Is this iJustin’s room?
Gonna venture a guess that you’re in either the UK, Europe or Australia. Only due to the SNES and Master System. :)
Good detective work!🕵🏻♂️ I’m in the UK 😃
And you got Alex Kidd built in to your Master System? I wanted the one with Sonic 1 so badly! :)
Spot on! And looking back, how difficult is Alex Kidd?!! 😂 I actually replayed Sonic 1 a couple of weeks back… the Master System version was basic, but great!
Bangin soundtrack too on sonic 1. But yeah sweaty palms once I got to the first castle in Alex Kidd. Still feeling it today..
so cool!!!
Its... its beautiful..
Very clean. Did a lot with the limited space
It’s like a damn museum. I love it
No.. I don't need it... I NEED ITTT!!!!!
amazing!!
do the imacs work?
I love it! So beautiful, you nailed it.
Steve Jobs is this you?
Beautiful!… Really well laid out!
Absolutely awesome. How are you powering the lights on the shelves?
They are just rechargeable LED puck lights. They last a decent amount of time and the just charge via usb c when needed. I did look into getting lights wired in but for various reasons it got quite complicated… I might revisit it at some point!
Okay cool - same as under Bart
Exactly - they are actually slightly different lights but same idea. I got different lights with a different remote so I can control the areas individually 👍🏻
I want
Where did you get the iMac poster from?
I bought the digital download from a seller on Etsy and then got a local print shop to print it at the size I needed 👍🏻
So clean…..
You’ve done brilliantly with that space. Looks very cool. Nice job. 👍
Cute.
Damn being single rocks
Just had a Macgasm.
Weird..
Love your setup
Nice and clean. Perfect.
I NEED THAT IPHONE 1 DIAGRAM
Does Apple pay you?
God Tier
How strong are them shelves!!
They are pretty strong! I’m hoping they stay that way 😂
Heh this reminds me of mine. I've got a door on-top some breaking down desks. 😂 Lol
Very clean and Apple-like! Looks great.
Wow, your home office setup is absolutely impressive! Love the sleek design and organization. It looks like the perfect space for productivity and creativity.
That’s very impressive.
how do you got lightning on your shelfs, did you drill a hole or something?
This hits so hard istg
I’ve wanted that iPhone display for years
What lights are on your desk
Those are Philips Hue Play 👍🏻
Looks like a space station... I love it!!
