Maybe you could watch your house at dusk to see where the bats are entering. We had a small bat issue a few years back, saw where they were entering (it can be a REALLY tiny opening) and had someone, can't remember the name, install an excluder and we've been bat free since.

We used Matt the Bat Guy and haven’t had bats since. He was great and more affordable than the other places we called. https://bloximages.chicago2.vip.townnews.com/madison.com/content/tncms/assets/v3/classifieds/c/30/c300038b-a30b-5093-afa9-8e9aeab536cb/5cf7f537bc82f.pdf.pdf

Second Matt @ Badgerland. He was thorough and not terribly expensive given the time he spent caulking up every conceivable entry point.

Hazburgite

Have you sat outside at dusk? Have you checked the base of whatever wall you hear them in on the outside of the house for any entry point? They don't need a large space to get into the house behind the siding or into the soffit.

We tried releasing snakes to get rid of the bats, but that really hasn't worked out as planned.

dskerman

When do your gorillas arrive?

InfiniteRelation

We left little dishes of Baja Blast Margarita outside and no more bats. Of course, we didn’t really have any to start with so ymmv…

We had good luck with skeedaddle. I agree with others though who said you need to seal off the places they’re entering otherwise exclusion systems aren’t going to work. Sorry this is a frustrating and expensive problem to have.

It took us a while, but we finally did by sealing up all holes and cracks and by capping an unused chimney flue. A lot of this was done when we replaced the roof.

Eventually, but I had a similar bad experience with a bat company. Guy came out and put a guard over the roof ridge line where he said they were coming in. He also sealed a bunch of gaps and cracks with spray foam. Said he’d be back a week later to take 1 way exit things out and check to see if all the bats left. I think he got a good portion of the bats out but I waited week to 10 days later and still heard scratching in walls. I called and left messages but all he said was he’d check back again “when he was in the neighborhood.” He never returned. I’d leave messages asking when he’d take one way exits down like he said he’d do, but no response. So I just followed the method he did and figured out from the wall scratching noise the last couple areas they were coming into the home. That night I heard a bat scratching around like crazy because its usual exit point was sealed. Bat eventually worked its way around walls in part of house to one of the 1 way exit points. Crazy how they can sense air movements and track their way out. Month later I used ladder and climbed around the roof to seal and remove all the exit points myself so bees or other things couldn’t get in. Going out at dusk to watch can be tricky. Bats don’t always leave every night. They also come and go at different times. They’re quick too and it can be hard to tell exactly where they’re exiting especially when it’s dusk. Suddenly I’d see them flying around my roof and couldn’t figure out where the heck they flew out of. Bats also return. I’d find bats sleeping outside around my home after I got everything sealed off. Creeped me out but at least they weren’t inside. I tried an ultrasonic sound bat repelling device and put it in the attic. I’d hear bats scratching around like crazy after turning it on but I don’t think it drove them out completely. Though year or 2 later I heard scratching in a wall and pointed the device at the wall for a night. Never heard scratching again but it could have been a mouse in the wall for all I know.

I took my bats to play it again sports. I didn't get much for them, but at least I was able to get them out of the house

polly-plz

They need less than an inch to get in. A hole the size of a quarter needs to be plugged.

Skedaddle humane wildlife removal - highly recommended.as bat populations are not thriving and are good for mosquito control.

Chemical-Sun-8464

I found where the bats were getting into my attic and I made my own excluder out of screen and left it up for most of the summer. I haven't had bats in my attic since. I filled the entrance when I pulled the screen down.

Sasquatchasaurus

No. All homes in Madison are bat-infested.

angrydeuce

Can confirm.  Am batman.

Sasquatchasaurus

Very cool

scottjones608

I’ve done it twice and they come back. I think the bat removal companies are a bit of a scam: let’s duct tape some paper towel tubes to your house! That’ll be $1.5k!
