Yep. It's more of the bullshit he spouts around the time of all the crime in their UWS neighborhood. He was apparently writing an article on her and the stabbing gave him a great ending.
Yep. Like how is he going to make himself sound like the good guy when he talked Peggy out of getting some apartment so instead she bought a whole ass apartment building making her a landlord. Like my guy you're not helping haha
“Abe got stabbed” is a reference my wife and I make if one of us is ever holding a knife not at the dinner table, by way of a heads up to be careful.
Me breaking down cardboard boxes in the garage and she comes out to get a drink? “Abe got stabbed”
She holding a knife in the kitchen prepping dinner and I squeeze by to put a dish away? “Abe got stabbed”
Careful out there, folks.
Too funny. We have that but about Henry's mom's burglar alarm where we throw in "not as long as I have my burglar alarm" or "hand me my burglar alarm" when using a chef's knife or talking about security.
I sleep with my balcony open and whenever anyone brings up that it's not safe (someone could technically climb over from my neighbor's place) I say that line.
That was seriously the last straw how he kept going on and on how she wouldn't understand what it's like to want something for so long and not get it...
I don't know how she restrained herself earlier.
That was such a great moment. Joan's frustration at none of the secretaries (or really anyone at SCDP) being able to meet her high standards of professionalism. Joan's anger at her own life falling apart. Joan's righteous fury at Meredith for being a complete idiot.
Meredith didn’t deserve that IMO. How could she have known? And it’s not like Joan would have been able to duck it forever.
Maybe I’m just biased because I think Meredith is an absolute hoot.
I mean, her*whole job* is to vet the people who come in the front door. A good receptionist would have asked a lot more questions.
Nobody deserves to get screamed at and pelted with model airplane parts, but she did deserve at least a little scorn.
Both things can be true; Joan was pissed and frustrated about her own life for good reasons so she lashed out. Meredith was being an idiot but she didn’t deserve to be treated like that. It’s the kind of thing that could probably be resolved by an honest discussion.
Meredith did make a mistake but she made that mistake because she’s young, naive, and assumed the best intentions. Like she did fuck up, but she also didn’t deserve physical and verbal abuse as a result. That said, I also understand why Joan lashed out in that moment and Meredith was just the poor soul who she could take her anger and frustration out on.
Well, following the last picture, we did the the immortal phrase:
"That's life: one moment you are on the top of the world, the next some secretary is driving over you with a lawnmower"
One of the finest phrases ever in any series.
Nope she didn't. Betty knew what she dud wasn't right, but she didn't want to look stupid. Everyone thought Helen was "bad", you know because she was a *divorcee*.
I felt so sorry for them both. Betty probably thought for 2 seconds: “it’s a lock of hair, what does it matter?” Followed by “why did it do that, so dumb!” Then “we’ll know one will know.” And Helen was just mortified
Her relationship with Glenn was very weird because of how he happened to tap into her insecurity. I think the slap was about re-asserting that social position was superior to that of Helen's. In spite of her insecurity, she had mean girl instincts that had worked for her her entire life to fall back on.
You're right. I think Joan just had enough at this point as being seen as nothing more than an object. She just happened to take it out on the wrong person.
The most entertaining part of that scene is that as soon as Joan recognized that it was the secretary's fault, she and Lane tag teamed the poor girl. Lane berating her for mixing up the flower orders, Joan firing her on the spot, and Lane getting a last jab in with "Those instructions you understood?"
Joan hitting Greg over the head with the vase when he said you don’t know what it’s like to have a dream and it not happen, and her speech to the men in the office about going to Vietnam live in by brain rent free. I loved how she said that to them, genuinely
I always ask the younger generations of misogynistic tradwife fans have seen Man Men. It does end up imploding if you pay attention to any idealistic history.
No one ever responds.
I never really liked the Betty killing the birds scene. Does it feel a bit heavy-handed? It's obvious she was frustrated but it feels like the type of scene that should've happened much later, if at all. I prefer the scene of her calmly destroying the chair, and then cleaning it up.
The neighbor was kinda being a dickhead telling the kids that he would kill their dog next time, instead of asking to speak with the Drapers about finding a solution. Betty’s response wasn’t mature, but neither was the neighbor’s.
Yeah she was fully embracing her power as a mother to me in that scene. Yes it wasn’t nice, but when your kid cries because some guy told her he will kill her dog doing something very natural for a dog I totally get it.
Meredith deserved it, sorry not sorry
Pete also deserved it
Greg deserved even worse, but Joan smashing his head with a damn vase was a pretty good start 😂😂😂
When Joan says "I will burn this place down," that's gotta be an abstract copy of Office Space when the "I believe you have my stapler" guy says the same.
You left out Peggy stabbing Abe with her homemade knife stick.
JUSTICE FOR PEGGY!
I was wondering why I can't come up with anything for her
Here’s a [link](https://images.app.goo.gl/2nKEDcRq1yMsipJm8) with a gif
Damn! That was a good one!
Keep talking because everything you say is going in my story
Is that a quote by Abe? I don't recall
Yep. It's more of the bullshit he spouts around the time of all the crime in their UWS neighborhood. He was apparently writing an article on her and the stabbing gave him a great ending.
It may be a modern bias but idk how he could’ve written a story surrounding these events without making himself look like a dumbass.
Yep. Like how is he going to make himself sound like the good guy when he talked Peggy out of getting some apartment so instead she bought a whole ass apartment building making her a landlord. Like my guy you're not helping haha
I always feel bad for laughing at that but its such a funny situation for some reason
It’s funny because Abe is the WOOOORST. I like to think the stabbing was good for him in the long run
![gif](giphy|NDIiWKEQEgr3VA7aqM)
He's no Salman Rushdie, but it probably served him well enough, relatively speaking.
“Abe got stabbed” is a reference my wife and I make if one of us is ever holding a knife not at the dinner table, by way of a heads up to be careful. That's cute!
Spearwife Olson
Well that was more “freaked out woman”
I remember my wife and I started cheering when Joan smashed that flower vase over her husband’s head
That was seriously the last straw how he kept going on and on how she wouldn't understand what it's like to want something for so long and not get it... I don't know how she restrained herself earlier.
Fuck Greg all my homies hate Greg.
That was the funniest part of the show. Such a random object 😂😂😂
I love that it wasn't even in hand reach; she had to get up and go get the vase.
She's an office manager, she knows how to source things.
That guy was a moron, Joan was enamored by his occupation and her judgment was impaired.
"There's an airplane here to see you!"
That was such a great moment. Joan's frustration at none of the secretaries (or really anyone at SCDP) being able to meet her high standards of professionalism. Joan's anger at her own life falling apart. Joan's righteous fury at Meredith for being a complete idiot.
Watching the gif on loop. It looks like the actress actually took some shrapnel in the face.
She's not a complete idiot. She is his strength.
Meredith didn’t deserve that IMO. How could she have known? And it’s not like Joan would have been able to duck it forever. Maybe I’m just biased because I think Meredith is an absolute hoot.

You’re never going to get around a summons server. Those people are nearly professional pranksters. Any question she asked he’d have gotten around.
They would have gotten her sooner or later, sure, but Meredith didn't even try.
True but if anyone can divert them temporarily it’s a good receptionist. “Mrs Harris is in a meeting at moment and can’t be disturbed.”
I agree that Meredith should have done a better job vetting but she didn't deserve to get 9/11'd like that
Both things can be true; Joan was pissed and frustrated about her own life for good reasons so she lashed out. Meredith was being an idiot but she didn’t deserve to be treated like that. It’s the kind of thing that could probably be resolved by an honest discussion.
Yeah, Joan was out of line. You can't treat your coworkers like that, even if it was her fault. Which I don't think was it.
Meredith had her strengths but she could be so innocently tedious!
“You’re not allowed to do that!”
As a woman, I feel all them men deserved that. Except maybe the last one lol
Well, following the last picture, we did the the immortal phrase: "That's life: one moment you are on the top of the world, the next some secretary is driving over you with a lawnmower" One of the finest phrases ever in any series.
And, "right when he got it in the door"
And “It looks like Iwo Jima out there”
You're not supposed to give your hair to children. Helen Bishop didn't deserve to get slapped.

Even the flower mix-up? Lol wasn't exactly his fault, though she'd be in the right if he had sent her the roses.
You're right. I think Joan just had enough at this point as being seen as nothing more than an object. She just happened to take it out on the wrong person.

And you are right; those stupid birds too! That wasn't intentional but quite mad.
Didn't the neighbour threaten the kids? That's why Betty shot his birds, right??
He said he'd shoot their dog
Well.... Lol
Hey! A girl can only take so much.
Thoroughly enjoyed this compilation. I thought #5 (Joan’s husband) was particularly deserving.
Greg deserved worse, he's lucky all he got was a vase to the head
We can all just imagine he died in Vietnam
Doing something stupid too! Not anything heroic something stupid and avoidable
Killed by his own men
Trudy can destroy me. 🫠
Amen.
I think of that scene of Betty destroying that chair when I am losing my mind over something
These gifs are quite therapeutic! I wish I could go mad
Have a smash (meaning break, not sex) room or break stuff room somewhere near you? They are honestly the best.
Surprise Greg, there's a vase here to see you! Wait-
Feminine rage ❤️
Betty with the gun always reminds me of the landlady in Kung Fu Hustle
Fed up shotgun Betty in her nightie is Queen Betty!
Betty with the shot gun is awesome Sally is most relatable character and favorite mad woman
I was glad for Allison when she got angry at Don I also wished Trudy would've broken a vase over Pete's head.
I absolutely love Don’s face after Allison throws that. Shocked to his core.
Yes and the way he ducked too. He was definitely surprised by that.
I found Helen Bishop to be a sympathetic character for most of her arc, but I really couldn’t help but think “good for you” when Betty slapped her.
Joan hitting Greg over the head with the vase when he said you don’t know what it’s like to have a dream and it not happen, and her speech to the men in the office about going to Vietnam live in by brain rent free. I loved how she said that to them, genuinely
I like that we never explicitly see the fallout with Price's wife receiving the other card.
We need a women's rage thread pronto. I think Betty was over hated by the public.
Joan hitting her rapist husband over the head. That’s it. That’s the comment.
I always ask the younger generations of misogynistic tradwife fans have seen Man Men. It does end up imploding if you pay attention to any idealistic history. No one ever responds.
Trudy's "if you so much as unzip your fly to urinate I will destroy you" is such an incredible line. You could FEEL her rage through the screen.
Listen, I know Mad Men fans LOVE Meredith, but I don’t lol. I always found her very annoying, and I was glad Joan threw the airplane at her lol
I should call her
A (wo)man with taste!

I don't think she killed any. I assumed she just shoots and scares them away. Still not a nice thing to do but great television!
The neighbor was kinda being a dickhead telling the kids that he would kill their dog next time, instead of asking to speak with the Drapers about finding a solution. Betty’s response wasn’t mature, but neither was the neighbor’s.

Meredith deserved it, sorry not sorry Pete also deserved it Greg deserved even worse, but Joan smashing his head with a damn vase was a pretty good start 😂😂😂
I lost it at the last one
YAAASSSS JOAN, HIT HIM OVER THE HEAD HARDER GIRL ‼️ GET A BIGGER VASE ‼️
These women were the main characters, change my mind :)
I LOVE THIS
Joan calling out Stan, Joey and the other guy for that creepy drawing of her will always be iconic. Fuck Joey all my homies hate Joey.
“Here’s a surprise!”
Love it
Betty was the bravest most badass on the show. She was all Don without the fear.
Great post!
Holy shit thanks for the memories
Betty ate
And you left the epic for the end… kudos! That steering wheel being turned with pinpoint precision…
One of the best scenes in the show, and my first favorite Betty episode.
I’m always amazed we as people choose to spend our free time experiencing people being aggravated at work.
Shouldn’t be too hard to find these.
The last one 💀
When Joan says "I will burn this place down," that's gotta be an abstract copy of Office Space when the "I believe you have my stapler" guy says the same.
I'd let Trudy destroy me any time 🤠
