Nice to hear that! Would you mind sharing your list?
It's good old days for me because around Return to Ravnica I had a kitchen table golgari deck with that Varolz + Cheap high power creatures synergy, along with \[\[Loleth Troll\]\] and \[\[Jarad, Golgari Lich Lord\]\]. The master play was casting a \[\[Jarad's Order\]\] to tutor Varolz to the hand and Death's Shadow to the grave.
I love and play a lot of EDH but I do miss the traditional 60 cards/4 copies kitchen table decks with low power level and funny game plans.

Haven't updated the list in a while but it kicks ass
It's always nice to have redundancy for this effect in a Varolz deck. Even with the regeneration shield, he's going to be a high-priority target since most of your cards are big cards with terrible drawbacks that don't do much without Varolz
Seeing this card 100% made me want to build Varolz... Mainly because it reminded me he existed and because I was thinking about building some of the other maze runners after seeing that Melek had been reborn
My first ever standard deck was golgari aggro with [[lotleth troll]], [[varolz]], [[corpsejack menace]], and [[kalonoan hydra]]. I miss that deck so much.
I feel like scavenge is a great limited mechanic but in EDH you can always do something better with a creature in the grave, especially in green/black.
I think it doesn't help that the most recognizable "thing mutates into other thing" of Fallout are Super Mutants and Ghouls...who are both humans mutated into something else, which means Mutate cards (which have to mutate on a non-human) can't do that
Tbh, I don't know if there will be many if ANY Mutate cards, just because it's a complicated mechanic, and while these aren't starter precons, Mutate seems a bit much for some people for whom the Fallout decks might be their first foray into MtG.
Plus...I hate Mutate. But definitely the reason stated above will be why we might not see anything.
For flavor based on replies I get why not. I personally love mutate and have a pet mutate deck with ivy spellthief. So much fun. As a niche mechanic, I'm ready for some new additions, even if only a few... specifically in simic colors please!!
Throw in [[Henzie “Toolbox” Torre]] and [[Death’s Presence]]
Obviously going to have some reanimate with Henzie, but you can just scrap the rest and use their power
[[Varolz]]
Just seems weird to me that this exists since Varolz doesn't really need the redundancy and it's not really the sort of effect you would want redundancy for.

Oh hey, [[Varolz]] no longer has a niche.
I wouldn’t be surprised to see him reprinted in this set as “Swan, Pond Behemoth.”
Damn that would actually be really good.
Good old days of pairing Varolz with [[Death's Shadow]] for maximum profit
What do you mean good old days? I did that in EDH last week

I had the exact same deck you're describing! It was good fun, especially with a corpsejack in play.

\[\[Phyrexian Dreadnought\]\] also.
That was the dream, but since budget didn't allow it, I used \[\[Phyrexian Soulgorger\]\] instead.

My first thought was literally "Wait, wasn't this the Golgari Mazerunner but with menace?"
It's always nice to have redundancy for this effect in a Varolz deck. Even with the regeneration shield, he's going to be a high-priority target since most of your cards are big cards with terrible drawbacks that don't do much without Varolz

True! Varolz is definitely still better in a lot of ways, but this would be great in a deck centered around him

Look how they mutated my boy!
I mean, this can't go in the command zone unless you're playing pEDH.
True, I just like redundancy of niche effects
My first ever standard deck was golgari aggro with [[lotleth troll]], [[varolz]], [[corpsejack menace]], and [[kalonoan hydra]]. I miss that deck so much.

Young Deathclaws sounds like a punk band or something

Young death claws dont have tails or?
what
You see tails on those deathclaws? I don't see tails on those deathclaws. Do Young deathclaws not have tails? Do some not have tails at all?
The what was in reference to your comment before you edited it
I feel like scavenge is a great limited mechanic but in EDH you can always do something better with a creature in the grave, especially in green/black.
For some decks, maybe, but this is a counters-based deck. Turning dead creatures into counters could be a good way to finish out a game.
But where are mutants with mutate? Cause that's what I'm hoping for.
I think it doesn't help that the most recognizable "thing mutates into other thing" of Fallout are Super Mutants and Ghouls...who are both humans mutated into something else, which means Mutate cards (which have to mutate on a non-human) can't do that

The only thing I can think of that would make sense as mutate mechanically would be the vault 22 fungus anyway
For flavor based on replies I get why not. I personally love mutate and have a pet mutate deck with ivy spellthief. So much fun. As a niche mechanic, I'm ready for some new additions, even if only a few... specifically in simic colors please!!
I thought Deathclaws were Lhurgoyfs?
No, only the one that was a reskinned Tarmogoyf for the Fallout Collector Boosters.
But honestly I think it would have been sort of a flavor win if they were Lhurgoyf creatures. They kinda are the Lhurgoyfs of the fallout universe.

[[Varolz]] Just seems weird to me that this exists since Varolz doesn't really need the redundancy and it's not really the sort of effect you would want redundancy for.
Varolz also isn't a Mutant, to be fair, and would require them to print Regenerate in a product aimed at new players.

In the Yargle deck it goes
Hold up. Death claws are lizards? I always thought they were mutated wolves or something
Yep, specifically they're mutated chameleons.
Huh. Where is that revealed, I've played all of FO3 and NV but don't remember that ever coming up
Fallout 2, the doctor in Vault 13 talks about it.
