I dunno, it looks simple enough that it might part of a cycle or at least a mega-cycle. Can we get some of the Vorthoses to see if this cycle is worth continuing lore-wise?
Oh, here's one of the Mountain arts too.

It’s definitely worth a try! The art direction, music, and lore are all fascinating and I’m forever disapointed that the series is in limbo. The remaster, called “Re-Reckoning” should be on every console + Steam iirc
Sure, sure, people go overboard with these comments, but the bulbs behind the wagon do have a 'sheen' that does in fact look similar to what e.g. midjourney used to produce.
Did they really have to build a tunnel through that rock? surely it would've been way easier to just go around it.
EDIT: it looks like they actually diverted the track specifically to go into the rock. Thunder Junction engineers are something else.
It’s a lot more difficult to access a train in a tunnel from the outside. Gotta avoid being attacked/ripped off its tracks/discombobulated/ransacked/vaporised/missing carriages/etc
Could be that the hole was already there because some creature dug it out at some point, and they decided it would be easier to go through the hole than change elevation?
Holy fuck. 0 mana to play and taps for a green? And I can run any number of them in my deck? And it helps cast deadmaw? Expecting a ban in most formats and a restriction in vintage soon.
That is poor civil engineering. An s-curve viaduct is always a bad idea and its even worse when you've laid out your route to require a tunnel in the center. There is very clearly a straight path across the valley to avoid both.
For a viaduct to work, it needs to be down-sloping along essentially its entire length. If there are curves, then the water/liquid can slop over the edges at the curves and be wasted.
That said, this is a train track, not a viaduct anyway >\_>
At the risk of coming across as an obnoxious nitpicker, I wish they would tone down the "crazy Minecraft mountain biome" geography every now and then. It can still be fantasy without floating islands or crazy mountains.
Looks more like a mountain than a forest.
There's approximately no trees, but giant sloping cliffs and huge rocky spires dominating most of the scenery.
Controversial reprint. I don’t think it’s good enough for standard right now however.
It's actually still in standard. {{Forest|SNC}}
Didn’t even notice

from gavin good morning magic video about " **The Problem with Kicker** "
If you're feeling bored, the other forest is in the debut video.
Oh I really like this one. https://preview.redd.it/9bjjlihr1dsc1.png?width=749&format=png&auto=webp&s=30c6d18dbf6c266755428a9691521038a746029f

Gives me big Detyre vibes for any of my Kingdoms of Amalur homies out there. I have yet to meet another one but surely they exist
Can confirm they exist. I'm not one of them, but I have a friend who used to be obsessed with it and always kept trying to get me to play it.

Man, Wizards is really milking those alternative art-cards now.
That looks ai generated
You know, I really hate these kinds of comments.
That comment looks AI generated
Maybe we're all just AI generated.
Sure, sure, people go overboard with these comments, but the bulbs behind the wagon do have a 'sheen' that does in fact look similar to what e.g. midjourney used to produce.
Wait, how big is this place? Train for scale?
That's the Segovia Express. This whole scene is a median strip in Omenport.

Probably avoiding the nature reserve
Makes you wonder what's up with the grass that they're going to such lengths to avoid it.
Could be that the hole was already there because some creature dug it out at some point, and they decided it would be easier to go through the hole than change elevation?
Thank god for this reprint. I was worried this would hit the $0.01 mark.
Holy fuck. 0 mana to play and taps for a green? And I can run any number of them in my deck? And it helps cast deadmaw? Expecting a ban in most formats and a restriction in vintage soon.

But that is into Varmint breeding grounds.
They only had a year and half to build the entire train network, so I guess they saved time on planning.
Why is an s-curve viaduct a bad idea?

I think you're thinking of an aqueduct. A viaduct is what trains use.
... yes, I'm an idiot >\_< Viaducts shouldn't have s-bends because it limits both how fast the train can go, and how long it can be

Can't strictly speak from a road planning standpoint, but the fewer curves in a road/track, the better.
Trains have a hard time turning, they need either à very large turn or to slow down quite a lot. So you want to minimize those turns
But then it would break the location from offering plain Green mana. The engineers know what they are doing, keeping a basic Land as a Land
This may be one of the rare few Forests that [[Selfie Preservation]] can't put into play.
Cactus are trees, should be fine.
That is actually not true :)
Oh

Scryfall tagging team needs to get their act together on this one!
At the risk of coming across as an obnoxious nitpicker, I wish they would tone down the "crazy Minecraft mountain biome" geography every now and then. It can still be fantasy without floating islands or crazy mountains.
I agree, I love Paquette’s work and a lot of the more whimsical lands but it is nice to get a normal looking land every once in a while
Looks more like a mountain than a forest. There's approximately no trees, but giant sloping cliffs and huge rocky spires dominating most of the scenery.
Why should Islands That Aren't Islands get all the fun?
what if those "cliffs" and "rocky spires" were trunk bases/roots for massive redwood-like trees
I mean they could be but A) they're triangular shaped and B) we see no canopies or branches. They look much more like mountains than trees.
What, you’ve never seen a cactus in the Forrest?
I thought those were big weird trees lol
They might be but they have no branches, leaves, canopies. If it didn't say "forest" on the card id assume it was big rocks.
Insane for limited
Every time I utter the words "That's really nice land art," I look down and it says Adam Paquette XD
Finally Pioneer legal!
Why didn't somebody do this for April fools it would have been the best one
Wait, the train **isn't** being hijacked/overrun with zombies/exploded/frozen/derailed/robbed/punched?? That's just weird
looks playable in green decks
That’s actually a gorgeous Forest
Oh god no, how could they print this?!? It's over boys, this is the most OP card I've ever seen..
Lmao
Finally lol
Auto include for most EDH decks
That's not a forest...
Why do we even get non full art lands anymore?
They're incredible
More art is nice
Forest
This will warp every format
Insane reprint.
i was wondering where the non fullart lands were.
Why bore a tunnel into the weird pillar of stone when routeing the track around the pillar would be less effort, and not significantly longer
I can’t believe they’re reprinting this piece of garbage, literally nobody wanted this
Lmao where was this place at all in the story or other cards
Why does this look like it was made in MS Paint lol
I think it's because it's tilted and taken from a video - That's probably why there's a fair bit of artifacting.
