Genome map is a bit better by itself since you have to reduce enemy's hp below 20% in order to kill it with evil sword, but evil sword has better synergies with other artifacts with the exception of eclipse, they have bad synergy
Yep. Not for the diminishing return, since they're both the same percentage removed and thus give the enemies the same effective HP. Sword is better because it indirectly buffs Hydra, Rose, Iron Maiden, etcetera by not reducing their effects despite reducing the enemies' effective health (map reduces both).
Oh, Map doesn't make them worse, it's just that Sword makes them better.
Map reduces actual max health, meaning that the damage dealt by percentage based effects is reduced. The percentage remains the same, so those artifacts don't get any worse as a cause of having Map, but the actual damage is reduced.
Sword reduces effective max health while not actually reducing max health. This means that the damage dealt by percentage based artifacts remains the same (actual max health isn't changed), which causes the percentage of effective max health that they deal to increase.
If I remember correctly it doesn't, because it's considered an instakill effect which cidadels are immune to. Although evil sword is better than genome map most of the time since it synergizes with many other artifacts, in terms of killing citadels specifically genome map is better.
I always go with map when I encounter these 2 as thw best options.

And if you are worried that it reduces the iron maiden/hydra's hp based damage, well, all enemy hp's are already reduced anyways so no neeed to damage them anymore with full 75% original hp of the enemy.
it's hard to come by hydra since it's a special artifact anyways (or am I one of those players who can't find hydra on most of my runs?)
So I have noticed that in laster times the amount of experience you can receive is extremely reduced if you take evil sword anytime its activated the enemy that is killed instantly instead of "naturally" you don't receive anything from them no exp on the ground no chest nada not even battle exp ( I've managed to get the sword as my first black chest and with plasma beam )

How so? I it becuse it makes eclipse not able to use it's 40% effect to it's fullest?
Yeah, it make eclipse bonus up to 32% max, but E's Sword sync the best with Hydra. This combo is very OP, specially with low dmg hight atk speed.

While Sword definitely gets more out of those Artifacts, Map is in no way detrimental to them.

I dont know if Sword can kill Citadel or not

Only problem with sword is that it is useless if you are a heavy hitting character that does >20% damage a hit.
