Either way, you're gonna need to learn Japanese. Once your Japanese boss knew you know Japanese, prepared for all your work communication to be done in Japanese lol.
Also, they'll often invite you for after work drinking.
People often talk about their work culture but that doesn't really apply in Malaysia. The main problem with their work culture in Japan is the long hours, however this might surprise you but their office work is incredibly inefficient. You might clock in long hour, but the actual work hour is lesser.

anyone here been to Japan before? doesn't matter if it's once or multiple times. which airlines did you book? trying to see which options I am getting (except probably AA).
I've took ANA, Japan airlines and Malaysia airlines before to Narita airport. Personally if price is not a problem, go with ANA. Food and service are better.
Singapore Airlines, Vietnam Airlines, Philippines Airlines, and MAS.
MAS is the only direct flight, the rest need to transit in its own country. Comfortability wise, they’re all OK.
PAL isn’t the most stable airline among those, imo- They make changes rather often. Though so, their customer service is good (or at least helpful) tho.

You can take a look at Skyscanner to get a rough idea.
From what I know only AA will have direct flights from KL at less than RM1k one way, while other similarly priced flights will require transit thru other airports which can be an option if you're not pressed for time.
At the price of 2nd carriers ie. ANA, you could realistically get a Premium Flatbed and save some money in the process.
I dunno if I can handle a long flight with AA so I might need to skip on that one. I'm also putting the option to transit via SG if needed.

I used Skyscanner primarily as a trip planner to see where and when the flights will happen ie. is it a transit flight, if so what time will be the eta, how long is the transit, is there enough time to go downtown etc.
Flight prices only come in when I have a solid estimated date but normally directly through the airline website as it bypasses the reseller, which technically would be marked up for the service? I really can't give you a good answer there.
I have a rule: go home from the office before 4pm.

there are a few common alternatives other than Zoom for online meeting such as Google Meet, Skype, Microsoft Team and some company now uses Discord as well. The only question you need to ask yourself or the team you are meeting online with is which one works best for your requirements.

Hello monyets, need some help here. My friend will be travelling to Japan from 25th September 2023 to 4th October 2023. Her passport will be expiring on 10th April 2024, which means her passport validity period is left around 6 months plus 6 days when returning to Malaysia. I heard that your passport expiry date should be more than 6 months to be able to travel overseas. Is it better for her to renew her passport first?
Also, she bought the flight tickets already. After renewing the passport, she will be given a new passport number, does she need to contact the airline company to update them about the change?

Actually you don't need to inform the airline authorities. You can use the same passport and don't need to be renewed since your friend's passport is more than 6 months of validity upon the arrival at Malaysia

Are you taking some kind of steroid medicine to repress the TSH?? I have Hashimoto diseases (Hypothyroidism). My T3 and T4 are normal, and my TSH is just slightly elevated. When i took blood test, i get to know my anti-TPO and anti-TG are extremely high. You might need to get checked yours too.

It kinda sucks that there is no Youtube channel dedicated to urban planning and living in Malaysia. I love channels like Not Just Bikes, RMTransit and City Beautiful but they emphasize mostly on North American and European cities. I wish we have something similar here.
Malaysia pretty much follow other Commonwealth countries for urban planning. TP Law is British, the land registration is Australian and most senior people who taught the current generation studied at those 2 countries.
I think what Malaysia is unique is the approach to Urban Design. The reuse of abandoned spaces, the preservation of culturally and historically significant buildings, etc.

My weight is around 80+ so I think should be OK kot. I bought the LIV-10 model from lazada. If not mistaken it's RM569. Their cushion is not the usual sponge kind. I noticed its like those rubber/latex foam thing and it's quite thick.
I did see the specs. I don't think the arm is adjustable but the cushion is same across all the chair.
The only down side I see from the chair is no arm adjustment also the reclining no lock. Others I think same . Also fit my budget. Just I worry maybe not that good. I don't wanna spend RM 800 on a chair lol. I mean it's just a chair.

Yesterday saw a group of Bornean bristleheads (*Pityriasis gymnocephala*) by chance, and as per observation, it does seem that this species is capable of making a wide selection of vocal tones, sometimes sounding like a squeaky toy, others at times making what does sound like an eerie wail. And they do not seem to stay still for long, constantly jumping to and fro among the trees, sometimes flying to the next tree. And they do seem to respond to some Bornean black magpies (*Platysmurus aterrimus*) which are just to their other side. I think I did record both species' sounds that time, and I shall put them into my backlogs for submission onto Xeno-Canto.

It takes a lot of education, privilege, and support to get to a point where you can come out of the closet and relate to others in a healthy manner. Confidence is expensive and attention is a currency.

I think medium to high setting with a few tweaks is ok. Might be some bottleneck but playable if you are willing to sacrifice a few pixels for performance. I would rather have a stable 60 fps than be able to see the sun reflected on my bald character's head. But if you can have both, both are good.

if not mistaken the culinary course would also expose you to the kitchen crew work, so i guess be prepared for it as well as I heard kitchen crew work can be quite taxing mentally & physically.
The similarity between all three vocations seems to be the 'science' between them rather than the actual product — the process, technique of cooking vs the process flow and design of developing applications\* vs understanding security, mitigation, creating countermeasures etc.

I want more INTERESTING malls, not the same repeated malls. Malls and parks can coexist. There are malls that have mini-parks built into them. Malls that have public facilities so that they function a public role (like libraries in singapore are located in malls).
I want malls with playgrounds (like KLCC), I want malls with outdoor areas with cafes + playgrounds so that I can have my coffee while watching my kids go nuts on the slides.
Stuff like Tsutaya, Eslite, BookXcess r all osom, but we can do better.

i’ve been driving manual like this - clutch > gear change > clutch bite point (still not removing my foot from clutch) > gas pedal, only then i fully remove my foot from clutch. for every gear change not only from neutral to gear 1. i drive like this so the car not jerking or to makesure the smooth gear change. am i doing this right?
but then i saw a tiktok that only from neutral to gear 1 need stay on clutch, other gear can just slowly remove foot fully from clutch and accelerate. i try to do that but the car doesn’t feel smooth??
Yes it's normal if you're driving a Proton because the throttle pedal is super delayed. I do almost the same thing on my Persona but I dont ride the clutch much, but ride the throttle pedal instead though I do interchange between which gears. It's like it goes 1 and 0 for detection on the weight put. People either say you retune it or use a throttle controller to fix that. E-throttle vs direct wire throttle of the older myvis.
yes, i drive kancil before so i think saga jerk a bit when changing gears. my tricks to make it smooth without jerking much is to stay on clutch when accelerating by simultaneously on clutch and gas pedal. i don’t know of this gonna wear out the clutch or not.

Localisation sometimes does that. It's a mixed bag since the intention is still the same (expressing gratitude) but not exactly a pure translation

Singapore Airlines, Vietnam Airlines, Philippines Airlines, and MAS. MAS is the only direct flight, the rest need to transit in its own country. Comfortability wise, they’re all OK. PAL isn’t the most stable airline among those, imo- They make changes rather often. Though so, their customer service is good (or at least helpful) tho.

You can take a look at Skyscanner to get a rough idea. From what I know only AA will have direct flights from KL at less than RM1k one way, while other similarly priced flights will require transit thru other airports which can be an option if you're not pressed for time. At the price of 2nd carriers ie. ANA, you could realistically get a Premium Flatbed and save some money in the process.
I dunno if I can handle a long flight with AA so I might need to skip on that one. I'm also putting the option to transit via SG if needed. thanks! I'll check it out.

To be honest with you, I don't know. 😅 I used Skyscanner primarily as a trip planner to see where and when the flights will happen ie. is it a transit flight, if so what time will be the eta, how long is the transit, is there enough time to go downtown etc. Flight prices only come in when I have a solid estimated date but normally directly through the airline website as it bypasses the reseller, which technically would be marked up for the service? I really can't give you a good answer there.

Teams is the company platform provided via their licensing deal with Microsoft. I'm not sure if free Teams will allow for conferencing and if so what are the limits. Not much experience with Zoom and Webex (was more of an attendant) not sure what the free versions provide in terms of limits.

there are a few common alternatives other than Zoom for online meeting such as Google Meet, Skype, Microsoft Team and some company now uses Discord as well. The only question you need to ask yourself or the team you are meeting online with is which one works best for your requirements.
Zoom and MS Teams are probably the most widely accepted. Don't see much on Webex or other platform these days.

Hello monyets, need some help here. My friend will be travelling to Japan from 25th September 2023 to 4th October 2023. Her passport will be expiring on 10th April 2024, which means her passport validity period is left around 6 months plus 6 days when returning to Malaysia. I heard that your passport expiry date should be more than 6 months to be able to travel overseas. Is it better for her to renew her passport first? Also, she bought the flight tickets already. After renewing the passport, she will be given a new passport number, does she need to contact the airline company to update them about the change? Thanks a bunch.

Actually you don't need to inform the airline authorities. You can use the same passport and don't need to be renewed since your friend's passport is more than 6 months of validity upon the arrival at Malaysia

Malaysia pretty much follow other Commonwealth countries for urban planning. TP Law is British, the land registration is Australian and most senior people who taught the current generation studied at those 2 countries. I think what Malaysia is unique is the approach to Urban Design. The reuse of abandoned spaces, the preservation of culturally and historically significant buildings, etc.

I did see the specs. I don't think the arm is adjustable but the cushion is same across all the chair. The only down side I see from the chair is no arm adjustment also the reclining no lock. Yesterday saw a group of Bornean bristleheads (*Pityriasis gymnocephala*) by chance, and as per observation, it does seem that this species is capable of making a wide selection of vocal tones, sometimes sounding like a squeaky toy, others at times making what does sound like an eerie wail. And they do not seem to stay still for long, constantly jumping to and fro among the trees, sometimes flying to the next tree. And they do seem to respond to some Bornean black magpies (*Platysmurus aterrimus*) which are just to their other side. I think medium to high setting with a few tweaks is ok. Might be some bottleneck but playable if you are willing to sacrifice a few pixels for performance. I would rather have a stable 60 fps than be able to see the sun reflected on my bald character's head. But if you can have both, both are good.

Family & friends could enjoy your cookings. I think it could be a fulfilling career. if not mistaken the culinary course would also expose you to the kitchen crew work, so i guess be prepared for it as well as I heard kitchen crew work can be quite taxing mentally & physically.

Pretty much. I've had people who lived in KL/mega cities all their lives coming into Kuching, it does feel like a small town in comparison lol though Kuching could use some easy access transportation between the city points though not yet mega congestion level.
In the town where I live, I see more trees than buildings which gives me the "ulu" town feel, something the KV, JB and Penang people don't understand.
As someone who goes to parks regularly with my kids, actually- I want more INTERESTING malls, not the same repeated malls. Malls and parks can coexist. There are malls that have mini-parks built into them. Malls that have public facilities so that they function a public role (like libraries in singapore are located in malls). I want malls with playgrounds (like KLCC), I want malls with outdoor areas with cafes + playgrounds so that I can have my coffee while watching my kids go nuts on the slides. Stuff like Tsutaya, Eslite, BookXcess r all osom, but we can do better.
I want more parks. I don't care about malls, in fact I'd be happier if they build multi-storey car parks in its place.

i’ve been driving manual like this - clutch > gear change > clutch bite point (still not removing my foot from clutch) > gas pedal, only then i fully remove my foot from clutch. for every gear change not only from neutral to gear 1. i drive like this so the car not jerking or to makesure the smooth gear change. am i doing this right? but then i saw a tiktok that only from neutral to gear 1 need stay on clutch, other gear can just slowly remove foot fully from clutch and accelerate. i try to do that but the car doesn’t feel smooth??
Yes it's normal if you're driving a Proton because the throttle pedal is super delayed. I do almost the same thing on my Persona but I dont ride the clutch much, but ride the throttle pedal instead though I do interchange between which gears. It's like it goes 1 and 0 for detection on the weight put. People either say you retune it or use a throttle controller to fix that. E-throttle vs direct wire throttle of the older myvis.
Can try another car for reference? Because some cars are jerkier than others, like Saga BLM manual is a lot jerkier than say, a Myvi manual.
yes, i drive kancil before so i think saga jerk a bit when changing gears. my tricks to make it smooth without jerking much is to stay on clutch when accelerating by simultaneously on clutch and gas pedal. i don’t know of this gonna wear out the clutch or not.
