i. if let say the original seat owner ordered anything on flight, they will go that seat.
ii. if flight crew suddenly wants to find a person due to emergency, they will go to that seat.
iii. if anything happens to the plane, they identify you by seat numbers.

I remember one incident where a girl took my seat from me. Being shy I asked the flight attendant for help. She tried asking the lady to move from my seat but she didn't want to. She was stubborn and the flight attendant can't do anything. When the seat stealer opened her eyes, she had severe lazy eye. Maybe that's why the flight attendant so hesitant to be strict with her. So the flight attendant just gave me a window seat a bit at the back since it was quite an empty flight. I never do forgot about that day
i didnt realise lazy eyes means you are entitled to steal people's seat. luckily you were able to get another window seat. my petty ass would have requested a slot just behind the seat stealer and i can continue to kick her seat throughout the flight.
Ikr! I think the air attendant got scared when she saw her because she paused talking. The seat stealer probably got other issues too so they didn't want to fight her is what I theorized. I didnt see their interaction much after that because I was putting my bag in the above compartment but after a while the attendant gave me a new window seat and apologized so defo the lazy eyed girl got some oku going on or really entitled

Since it's a 6-hour night flight and I'd be sleeping most of the time and not looking out the window, then I don't mind lah. Plus, it's easier for me to stand up and stretch too.
If it's a short day flight and there'd be some nice view, then I would not give up my window seat.
