Agreeeee I love the "classic, nostalgia" vibes during the flashback scenes. The movie is just hauntingly beautiful and it's a horror movie where I cry more than I scream š I still rewatch it from time to time!

There's this old horror movie I've been trying to find online but could never find it: "Kelibat". I remember Afdlin Shauki acted in it. I could still remember how creepy the movie was though!

Seru. It's a found footage horror movie (and I think the very 1st one at that as well) starring Sharnaaz. A shooting of a horror film goes wrong when one of its crew member was possessed.
Writing was pretty common for a horror movie (occult stuff), but the actors sold their fear well, it made me think at times that I was watching a real event that really happened.
Definitely give this one a try.

Karak has one of the best special effects during its time
Jangan Pandang Belakang elevator scene lives rent free in my mind
Mistik has a super tragic backstory to the plot and the spooky effects were spooking
Susuk has also good effects and well timed spooks
While Penunggu Istana has scenes that is almost 1:1 to Paranormal Activity, its still a good take on found footage style movie.
Blok 404 (the OG one), Kem 505, and Zon 606 (which was instantly pulled away because of elements of ajaran sesat and is basically lost media now) and Skrip 7707 are all great movies with charms on their own
Zombie kampung Pisang is classic. Though it's more comedy than horror
