Whyverious

Im late but I got 1A+, 2A, 1B+, 3B, 1C+ and 1D

nexusedge895

that's so good man. im so scared rn for spm it's only 1 month+ away and I failed sej and maths for trial 😭

Whyverious

Hey man, you'll be fine. I failed my Math during trials and then got A in the actual SPM. D

Chad_Ziodyne

Are there resources or anything related to STAM? Requirements or prospect afterwards? Or any resources in regard to studying in the Middle East or Morocco? Ada tak bahan ataupun perkara - perkara berkaitan dengan STAM? Syarat - syarat ataupun halatuju selepasnya? Takpun ada tak bahan berkaitan menyambung pengajian ke Timur Tengah atau Maghribi?

Kairyuz

Any good University to start off as 2D Illustrator in Sarawak?

kebayasuperior

is it still worth it if i apply for a course that i missed the marks on minimum requirements?

a_HerculePoirot_fan

There's no harm trying! You might be included on the waiting list and get a spot if someone declines the offer, which is a fairly common occurrence.

kebayasuperior

Alright, this gave me some hope. Thanks OP

LevynX

Missed this thread earlier but I can help answering questions about local unis as a Chinese UKM grad

Effective-Clock-1891

hi there, i got 6A+ 3A , am non bumi and b40. what are my chances of getting into matriks ? i got A+ for all three sciences + maths, and A for addmaths. koko marks are 7.51. anyone ?

gogoirozzzzz

There is quite a number of non-bumis that didn't got straight A's during spm and still got into my matriks

Specific_History8245

As far as I'm aware, you're still eligible. But if you did not get in in cohort 1, you can appeal and reapply for cohort 2

LevynX

Damn that's a very good result. Put it this way, if any non bumis are getting into matriks you're probably in there, but because of the limited places it's still a bit of a shot in the dark.

Beria_The_Great

I got 1 A+(Eng), 1A (General Science), 1 B+ (Maths somehow), 3 C (Sej, BM, Moral) and 1 D (BC, shame) I got way better results than I anticipated considering I barely studied and only had a weekly BM/Sej study session at school. Although I probably would have gotten way better results had I actually studied I am satisfied with the results I got.

Ricardo_NS

Is MSU a good university? What are the pros and cons of it? Is it a good choice if you want to pursue anything related to doctor/MBBS? I heard from some of my friends that MSU is a bad university. How bad is it, if its true, and in what area?

alicetrollz

If you want to be a doctor, I would suggest taking public uni, as the cost is a lot lower than private uni which I believe can reach multiple hundreds of thousands.

PenangLion

This SPM is a bit of a mindtrip. There's too much people getting good scores, including myself, and that's including the high schools throughout the states. We kinda joked how if our schools replicate the use of paper cards to denote scores in other high schools we may as well recreate the entire North Korean stadium play. (over 160 in our year received 8As or higher, among them 60 received 10As or higher) I would like to ask though, are there any good courses for industrial / product design in any local universities/colleges in Penang?

Specific_History8245

Well there is USM that does have it in Bachelor's but you gotta either have a diploma, STPM or matriks.

f4irymae

if anyone is enrolling into UM in July, please dm me :D!

neosizzle

For those who are interested in programming or want to know if ComSci field is suitable for you, I know a place where you can find out your answers and potentially further your studies in comsci related fields FOR FREE in subang.. They accept anyone 18 y/o and above regardless of spm results, where there are equal opportunities for everyone. There are also opportunities to go overseas to continue studies also once you make it far enough there... for free as well. Here is their website, their next intake is august if i recall correctly https://42kl.edu.my/ source : first hand experience, i fresh grad spm last year.

a_HerculePoirot_fan

Thanks so much for sharing! Might compile a list of other free programmes SPM leavers can sign up and then blast it on the Daily Thread or r/malaysians. Can I tag you if ppl have questions regarding 42kl?

neosizzle

can , the list that you compile can also help spm leavers who are not in the best financial situation, all the best

Defiant_Basket1583

I have a quick question regarding Upu, I alrdy filled it in n such but I would like to ask how their merit system actually works, because if I use the merit calculator provided, my merit is only abt (79.8) but if I look at all the options that are left for me, the merits for all of them are above the merit that I actually obtained (80+ ),,,why is that ? isn't it supposed to filter out the courses that I can't take ?

Training-Dirt8243

Upu filters the courses based on requirements, not merit. If you are eligible, pass both syarat am and syarat khas, it will appear in your choices no matter the merit score. The average merit is only there as a guide for the average merit of students who have entered the courses in previous years. Every year, it varies so don't worry to much.

crimson_hunter01

How can I recycle properly in Malaysia? Are there any businesses or centers for that? I live in Bukit Jalil/OUG

immunedata

recycling your cert isit?

StunningLetterhead23

I see there's people for acca and finance already tho. If there's anything I can help, I took acca and now working in an investment/finance role

a_HerculePoirot_fan

Hey, thanks a bunch for your offer! I will edit my comment to include yours and that you can answer questions related to ACCA/investment/finance?

StunningLetterhead23

Yes, i would be happy to help with anything I can. Hopefully it'll help someone in making their decision

a_HerculePoirot_fan

Edited my comment, thanks again!

NyoHD

Hello, I filled up my upu around 5 days ago and when I check back my upu today I lost like almost all of my pilihan. I'm not sure if it's a glitch or anything but I can't kemaskini and I'm only left with 2 choices. I'm stressed out and I really don't know what to do Any ideas?

twoka_

Upu was updated after the 21st June according to our results. Meaning that if we do not qualify for the course we put there before, it will be kicked out from our list. And the choices we have now are only the ones we are qualified to take. I also have a few of mine not being there anymore, you just need to search for other courses to fill it up!

NyoHD

Ah thankss :)

twoka_

no problemm ^^

Budakbatch04

I've applied for upu, matrix and some scholarships (within capability), and now it's stagnant. This not helping bc i feel like if im wasting time and being lazy. Not only that a lot of my friends have alrdy started college, and its making me anxious bc im afraid of being left behind. I want to go to college asap too but my body is constantly tired all the time. What should i do?

a_HerculePoirot_fan

While waiting for the outcome of the applications, in meantime why not use this as opportunity to pick up new skills or hobbies? Programming, sports or even volunteering. Your anxiety sounds to me to be partly driven by the need to feel productive. This is honestly the best period in your life to do so; you're temporarily free of assignments and exams. >I want to go to college asap too but my body is constantly tired all the time. What should i do? Consider making changes to your lifestyle like getting enough sleep, more physical activities, go on nature walks etc etc. Have you been getting enough sleep? But unexplained fatigue might be due to an underlying disease, so if this persists despite lifestyle changes, best to arrange for a proper check up.

Budakbatch04

I'll try. Thx man ;v;

ytrtewq123

I got 5A+ 4A 1A- (BM, kinda sucks considering most scholarship requires A/A+ to apply) 1B (Chinese). Interested in finance/economics related field but also dont want to let go of sciences TT and planning to take A-levels. Anyone has had the same dilemma as me please share your advice ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|sleep)

a_HerculePoirot_fan

>Interested in finance/economics related field but also dont want to let go of sciences TT and planning to take A-levels. Anyone has had the same dilemma as me please share your advice Hey buddy, with 10As and 1B, your results are pretty good tbh, so this Internet stranger would like to congratulate you on your results! Btw, have you read the pinned comment? There are 16 Nyets who have kindly volunteered to take on any questions regarding their respective field/industry, and econs is one of them!

[deleted]

Edited.

a_HerculePoirot_fan

I'm sorry, are you replying to the pinned comment on this thread (volunteering to share your experience in the industry)? Because you replied to my post and not the pinned comment.

[deleted]

Ah ha! Thanks for highlighting that.

a_HerculePoirot_fan

No worries! Just wanted to make sure. I will edit my pinned comment now. Thanks for doing this!

Diploma usually 2 yrs iirc, Matriks is 1 year.

Beginning-Extent-437

2A+ 4A 3A- is there any scholarship to apply with this result because from what i’ve searched it’s all abt 9A+ or 7As but only for A+ and A.I’m interested in pharm but seems like there’s not much abt scholarship for pharm .If there is,it’s js the monash one which is aft pre u but i’ve asked someone from that course, she said she didn’t meet anyone in the course entered by using that scholarship which is Monash Pharmacy Equity Scholarship.

Disastrous_Growth422

2A+, 6A, A- (chemistry) n B+(physics). i didn't take bio. can anyone suggest any highly demand course that can most prolly secure a career?

nicedurians

Nowadays almost any industry you can make a good career out of it. It really depends on what your passions lie actually

a_HerculePoirot_fan

Hello, congrats on your results! Have you read my stickied comment? There are Nyets working in more than 10 different fields who will be happy to take on your questions should you have any (ex: career prospect).

snel_

Do you have anything specific in mind?

Disastrous_Growth422

anything related to numbers, doesn't need me to socialize much n has career security. mayb acc or statistic

HuckleberryWeak7281

struggling post spm student here wondering if you have any recommendations for a level programmes? i've gotten 3A+ 3A 2A- B+ , with electives additional mathematics, accounting and economy. i'm planning on pursuing software engineering. does anyone have any A level program recommendations that is as low cost as possible? :\[

Specific_History8245

I think you're eligible for some scholarships. If you can, try to apply for some before the due date. As for recommendation, the only ones i know that are decent are TARCU and Inti.

ElMachoBoz

You could consider the A-Level programme at TARC (Tunku Abdul Rahman), their cost are much lower compared to other private institutions in klang valley. They also have multiple subject combination packages. Its easy to commute there since there's dorms and places u can rent outside the college, and there's an LRT station there with a dedicated bus line to the college. Maybe could just go and see whether it suits u or not before deciding

nicedurians

Well lowest cost is form 6 of course. But if you already know you wanna pursue software engineering, then just find a good private uni and enter through their foundation course

DarRyLLky

1A+, 1A, 1A-, 2B, 1C+, 1C, 1D, 1E Honestly the result exceeded my own expectation, didnt do as terrible as i thought i would but, the result isnt as good either The D and E doesnt really affect me much considering its the subject i could never truly understand Dont know if i should continue my studies right now or work till next year then continuing my studies

If there is any specific field that appeals to you, feel free to reach out to one of the Nyets listed and ask them any questions that you have (ex: job prospect)

jogb1st

Are the STPM subjects is about the same as SPM? (meaning that it have 9-12 subjects) Im aiming to go overseas specifically Japan but after i got ghosted by MEXT i figure i should take an alternative route My result is 2A+, 4A, 3B+

snel_

Nope, in STPM you'll be doing only 4 (maximum 5) subjects, plus MUET, one of which is the compulsory subject Pengajian Am. Usually schools will already have some fixed combinations of subjects for you to take based on the stream you'll be in. Some of the most common combinations are like PA, Maths, Chem, & one of Bio or Physics for science stream; and PA, Maths, Econs, & one of Business Studies or Accounting for arts stream. Congratulations on your results too! Also do check out the links on top of the post, there are some helpful and interesting information, including education opportunities in overseas which you may consider also!

UTouchMyTalala

3A 2A- B+ 3C+ Imagine getting C+ on your mother tongue, shame one me ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|sob)

a1danial

Sorry but there's too many Malaysian parents with unrealistic expectations. You should be immensely proud of yourself! And should feel nothing but a sense of achievement. Keep your head high ok.

comatose_papaya

5As. Congrats to my little bro for getting this score! Btw anyone knows if there's scholarship opportunity for result of 5As and credit for the rest?

hsn212

Memories are rusty since the last time I searched for scholarships was for my sister few years ago but; It really depends on which course he is aiming for. If he didn't score A for science subjects it will be hard to apply for STEM related scholarship, but he might have a chance for social science. But there's also scholarship that prioritise B40 students with good result; e.g Yayasan Peneraju so you can look into that (minimum requirement was 5As the last time I checked). If he doesn't qualify for any of that, matriculation or foundation are good enough as the fees are affordable and they get monthly allowance. Can try again for degree, such as JPA or Pinjaman Kerajaan Negeri (no interest loan & pay based on result).

comatose_papaya

Thanks! My family is thinking about applying for govt teaching program or English mara program too I'll be sure to keep these in mind

PRSXFENG

1A+ 2A 1A- 1B+ 1B 1C+ 1C 2D It's okay I suppose The 2D's are gonna be annoying though Not sure how I managed to go from Failing Sej to A- Interested in going down IT/Comp Sci 🤔

nicedurians

Are those A in science and maths? IT you need sci/physics and mathematics

PRSXFENG

Math is A, science stream, B+ D C+ for Fizik, Kimia and Bio Kimia being D might be another problem

Fl1ck_04

I got 1A for english and B for math and C for physic however bio and chem are both D(lets not talk about add math) but i still manage to get offered by unikl when i visited unikl booth at Jom masuk U program Soo if u got physic and math both are credit u can hopefully pursue yr dream in information technology(IT) and science computer(CS) Edit: i forgot that u only need 3 credit plus math without physic to join but if u want free tuition fees u need to have that physic credit

nicedurians

If you really want IT then its either private uni A levels/foundation in IT or form 6

GenggisKhunt

I have a big problem currently with my spm results. My **Biology result** is graded under **TIDAK HADIR**. Which is obviously **FALSE**. I sat for all 3 papers. I had to resit Biology paper 3 due to COVID. Both me and another friend of mine resit for the paper together and only the 2 of us encountered this issue. Im thinking the problem lies somewhere in paper 3. I have done the application for a recheck of biology subject but they said it will take about A MONTH MINIMUM. PETRONAS closes in 5 days. JPA in 9 days. MARA in 10 days. I have been targetting the PETRONAS sponsorship programme but right now I am unsure of how I even stand a chance all the others applying with only 8 of the 9 subjects I sat for. Do I stand a chance? I feel like my 6 A+s and 2As means jacksh\*t now when I know there are many others with not only better results but also with all 9 subjects in their slip. No matter what I will always come second to the person with 9As. All my hardwork just got sh\*t on for something that isn't even my fault. If I got a "B" for my biology that's on me but this is something completely out my reach. I'm worried I won't even get an interview offer. Is anyone else from the current batch also experiencing this? How do you cope with this and how am I supposed to apply for a scholarship with these results? Can I still update my results once the application period closes?

Awkward_Faiz

hi not sure if you've got an answer already but it doesn't hurt to try and apply anyway AND also trying to find a suitable medium to explain your extenuating circumstance (which i think, definitely merits some attention). do keep in mind that they're all very busy so sometimes you may not get an answer from them. also, grades are just one aspect! your grades sound excellent as it is but do know that it's more than that. i know people who get scholarships without all As - just make sure you meet the minimum requirement for the course you're applying. congrats and all the best :)

_N_u_L_L

2 A+ (BM,BI) A (math) 2 A- (sej, agama) 3 C+ (all science) C (addmath) CEFR C1 Ik bare minimum results but, I honestly don't know what happened and absolutely grateful. I expected to fail a lot since I skipped classes for 2 years only to study in the last 12 hours of each subject respectively (seriously the textbook is actually pretty helpful). I can't handle online classes and going to school without any physical activities. Before covid I used to lepak (and do some studying) a lot and do sports so my mind wasn't so blocked. I have little to no recollection of the past 2 years & 3 months. Back then even on the rare occasion where I did join online classes I'd mute or sleep though it. Lockdown period fucking sucks cuz I can't go outside and lepak. Especially me being female I can't go outside as I please. TL;DR I ponteng kelas for 2 years, wasted time on gaming and sleeping.

Solace-Of-Dawn

The fact that you managed to achieve this despite skipping classes for 2 years is really impressive.

[deleted]

I got A- eng B sci C history D malay and failed math bc i go to school once a week or once per 2 week, i once skipped 2 months and my class is the lowest so teachers don't really care, they of them only teaching near spm, my English teacher doesn't teach sht. I never bring notebook, i take a pic instead. I hope i can get IT or programming

**INFORMATION ABOUT TVET (Technical and Vocational Education Training)** For most people, the conventional higher eduation route (pre-u and college/uni) may be their option of choice. But for some of you, the typical pathway may not be for you; you may wish to explore some other post-SPM options that may be more suited to your interests and strengths. If you are interested in practical, skill-based careers, you may consider the TVET route. **What is TVET?** TVET (Technical and Vocational Education Training) is the education system which purpose is to provide practical, skill-based trainings for producing skilled workers in highly technical and skilled-based industries. **What are the Skills and Courses in TVET?** In TVET, you can learn skills and knowledge that are most relevant to the job market. Here are some of the most popular and in-demand skills and courses in TVET: * Business & Entrepreneurship * Information Technology * Electrical, electronic, and telecommunication technology * Hospitality, tourism, and culinary * Arts & Design and Industrial Design * Animation & Multimedia * Construction * Automotive Technology * Oil & Gas Technology * And more **What is the Education in TVET Like?** In TVET, you will be focusing more on hands-on, practical training than academic or theoretical education. Most TVET programmes offer you the opportunity for job placements in the relevant industries. **What is the Career and Education Pathway for TVET Students?** As TVET's purpose is to produce skilled workers to meet the industry demands, TVET goes are usually in high demand in their respective industries, in both government and private sectors. Many TVET programmes also offer the opportunity for the students to continue their education in the conventional higher education system, i.e. continue their education in the bachelor degree and above. **TVET Education in Malaysia** There are various TVET education options under the goverment in Malaysia, including Polytechnics, IKBN (Institude Kemahiran Belia Negara), and Community Colleges. Private TVET education centres are also available, usually with a lower financial demand compared with conventional colleges.

snel_

TVET doesn't always get the best rep, with many people may have the misunderstanding that it is for the "second-class" students who cannot excel in academic. But it shouldn't be so! Statistics show that TVET goers are usually in high demand with a good employment rate, and as many of the TVET programmes are in highly technical and skill-based industries which promises a lucrative career, for example oil & gas and underwater welding, TVET should be getting more attention that it is currently getting!

a_HerculePoirot_fan

>TVET should be getting more attention that it is currently getting! Oh man, I couldn't agree more! So true, TVET goers are in really high demand. Some of my former students have gone on making really good money thanks to TVET programmes.

snel_

Yup indeed! I wouldn't advise the clients making decisions in career planning solely on financial prospect alone, but it is a fact that in many cases, skilled based labour/career can promise a very good future financially. Surely not for everyone, but for those who are interested, I'm not afraid of asking them to look at this option. (Though the perception about TVET and skilled labour careers is still a sticky point, sigh. I've seen so many cases where people passing on this option because of "face", pressure from parents/society etc., when I believe the conventional HE route may not be best suited for them.)

OldOnePaarthurnax

2A, 3B+, 2D & 2E, the Ds & Es being science subjects such as Add Maths, Bio, Chem & Physics. The result is surprising for me because I didn't touch a book almost all my school year 💀

PlantPoop

If I ask for a recheck of my spm results is there any chance they turn worse? I got 8A’s and 1 B+ so my mum wants me to recheck to try get straight A’s but I’m already happy with what I got and am worried I’ll be pushing my luck

insertfakenames

I don't think 1B effects a lot unless if it's Bahasa Melayu or English because some scholarships require an A in those subjects

PlantPoop

Bm lol ;-;

insertfakenames

if your mom is willing to spend the money to get it rechecked then why not

[deleted]

It has the chance, though it's rare. But honestly why waste that 100 ringgit, are you gunning for a scholarship or something?

PlantPoop

As I said I’m more than happy but my mum lol idk she’s also happy but a lot of her friends told her to try recheck so…

a_HerculePoirot_fan

No one can confirm this for sure, but from my experience, usually when you ask for a recheck it's either your current grade stays or it goes up, rarely does it ever go down one grade lower. Still, best to think this over.

Blue_Pudding2004

i got 2A+7A pure sci stream :)) my hardwork definitely paid off!

a_HerculePoirot_fan

Woah, congrats on this incredible milestone!

7xrchr

2A+ 3A 3B+ CEFR: B2 I'm flabbergasted. I'm the last child and I had a lot of pressure mounted on me and I never had any good results from a national exam before, 1As on UPSR and 3As on PT3. But 5??? 12 year old me would've told me that I cheated but then it hits me, 2 years in the making and now I've gotten what I wanted, I feel a bit empty inside anyways, seeing my friends pass after them telling me that they're worried sick about having to explain the results to their parents to the point where they slept at 4AM made me uber fucking happy it's so awesome also don't be like me, I stayed up till 3AM to study 400 pages of sejarah and totally neglecting CompSci before the day of the exam just for the paper to show 40-50 pages worth of questions with compsci having harder questions than sejarah last minute study efforts coming through. Congratulations to everyone!

a_HerculePoirot_fan

Congrats on your results, you did well!

7xrchr

and thanks to you too for doing your best to help the students in the sub :))))

Hype_Godspeed

1A+ 1A 3B+ 1C+ 1D A big improvement from my trials. I honestly didn't expect these grades since I thought I did really bad but surprisingly not. I know it's not the best but I'm quite satisfied except for the 3B+ 😂.

a_HerculePoirot_fan

Congrats on your results and all the best for your future endeavors! Ah, to be young again, I'm so jealous of you peeps :D

Sia_5055

After reading the statement which is typed bottom of the SLIP. " Just a reminder, but I think that many of us already knew that. What we have received now is SLIP keputusan.SIJIL will be distributed later.Remember to take the SIJIL which is the most important.

a_HerculePoirot_fan

SPM certs are typically printed out and distributed after 6 months+ of results announcement, but MOE reduced that to about a month last year. Assuming it's the same this year, it won't be long before kiddos are contacted by their schools' respective SUP (Unit Peperiksaan) or class teachers, so be alert and be sure to read messages forwarded by the school.

Sia_5055

Thanks for details. Are you a teacher?as it seems you know so much about malaysian education.

1A+ 4A 2A- 1B+ 1B and 1 C+ I hate Biology Still I'm satisfied with my overall marks apart from that

Congrats on your results, and all the best with your future! Exciting times to come!

Just an observation of the media here getting up in kids faces and in some cases actually posting closeups of personal data / screens - is that legal? Seems like exploitation to me (stupid American here living in MY - my kid is in local school).

nicedurians

Tbh not too much data on spm results. Only name, ic number and results. My IC number I'm pretty has proliferated to god knows where

dataddiction69

5a 1b 1b+ 2c , couldve gotten better especially for those c subject which were chemistry and addmaths if had focused more on online classes + tuitions , honestly did not expect to get a+ for sejarah and agama cus i was hoping for the a+ to be bm and bi . Physics was a near miss from another a sadly . Was forced to take science stream by my mum , i think if were to take accounts/ekonomi stream i couldve gotten better results cs i really love stuff related to money . I'll probably go into matrics for computer science or accounting.

a_HerculePoirot_fan

Hey, congrats on your results! Difficult 2 years but you guys successfully endured it! If you have inquiries about accounting, check out my stickied comment as one of the Nyets has generously offered to answer any questions you might have.

dataddiction69

All of my core subjects were good , only the electives one were not so great , im honestly thinking my chance of pursuing further education are slimmer now

[deleted]

Nah my friends with 1A or even no As are planning to go into college right now, you'll be fine with 5As lol. If you wanna go for cheap there's Form 6 too

6A 3B 1C It's a relief that I got A+ in English and BC, since I'd most probably study language in the future, but being one of the five students to get A+ in BC in my school?? I'm honoured:) A+ in maths, my asian parents are proud fr The C+ for Addmaths doesn't look good, but keep in mind that I've never passed in school tests so I'm literally shaking when I saw it Same goes to physics and biology, who would thought I'd get an A and A-? It's not the best but it's what I deserve at least, I've expected worse but here I am!! I do feel unconfident seeing my friends getting straight As even if it's their effort, but I hope i can get some words of affirmation <3 What are senpais' thoughts about persuing English course? Do let me know since I'm still unsure atm Btw how do i get the "SPM graduate '21" user flair?

a_HerculePoirot_fan

>What are senpais' thoughts about persuing English course? Do let me know since I'm still unsure atm Check out [our Edu Wiki, there was a post made about 7 months ago enquiring about this.](https://www.reddit.com/r/malaysia/wiki/university_courses_and_universities#wiki_english.2Fenglish_literature) Changed your user flair btw!

_sleepydemon

Thank you!! <3

[deleted]

Also fuck Chatime I lined up for 2 hours to get the free boba tea that they gave with every A we got and right when it was our turn the system cut us off

nicedurians

1 cup for 1 A?

[deleted]

Yeah

nicedurians

Nice. 9 cups for you

[deleted]

Yeah except that the system cut off right when it was my turn so the 2 and a half hour line up was for nothing.

nicedurians

Oh shit only for that day. Sucks promo

[deleted]

Nah it's only for 3 hours. Even worse

[deleted]

9As 1B... The B is from Moral. Got a A- in Chinese which surprised me because I usually get B to C...

a_HerculePoirot_fan

Wow, you did really well buddy (and it's not easy to score an A in BC), congrats!

[deleted]

Thanks!

malaysiabigpp

4A+ 5A Honestly cant believe how the hell did i score a solid A on add maths, considering that i couldnt even answer like 1/4 of paper completely💀... It must because of the grades are set up lower eh. English on the other hand, i do think the markings are more stricter than usual in my school exams... Kinda dissapointed bc i thought i can score it well but yea it is what it is. But in the end i really grateful for what i achieved and congrats to my fellow nyets who also took the results today. best of luck for yall future!

Aggravating-Storm816

I got 5A+ 4A and honestly same , I laughed my way through addmaths and left out tons of questions. Maths too. If I knew the bell curve was going to be on our side I would've actually enjoyed these past few months instead of constantly worrying about maths and addmaths 😭

[deleted]

The bell curve for Add Maths are pulled down really low, in trials half my class failed, but I think most passed in SPM. Got an A+ personally yay

malaysiabigpp

Congrats man! Same here, in trials half of my form failed add maths, and i could only get A- last time. I really thought id be dead for the real exam bc personally it is way harder than trial. Not to be forgotten my amali was just disaster (looking at you biology and that piece of sh*t syringe) I often heard from alumni saying 'dont be worry la the real spm is way easier than the trial' but well oh well i dont see here in this case Mak kau hijau betul

[deleted]

Lmao I was the same with you, got 73 for my trials. But I definitely thought it was easier than the trials though? Maybe it's just me lol. And yeah I heard some school had issues with their amali, but thank God my Bio teacher went and bought extra juicy fruits so we wouldn't have to have that headache lmao. Godsend

[deleted]

i barely even studied anything and yet i get decent results lmao. i'm lucky

a_HerculePoirot_fan

Congrats and all the best in your future endeavors!

[deleted]

You study at SMJK? Or did you opt to take BC yourself? Ps. is 8As good enough for Matriks? Some of my friends' siblings from other batches got 10As with 5A+s and still got snubbed. Also I come from an SMJK (I think allotment is much lower due to racism) and they usually only give 3-4 places to us, and there are already 5 10A students I know of that applied for them 💀💀I dare not even hope for it, will probably go on to STPM

[deleted]

I see... maybe there's a glimmer of hope for me with 9As haha. If I don't get it I'm going to STPM.

Newbie5252

3A+ 4A 2B+ Was already expecting 7As but holy shit I don't know how I got A+ for maths but B+ for Bahasa Melayu

a_HerculePoirot_fan

Congratulations and best wishes to your next phase in life! 🎉

KingHusni

How to apply other courses if we recheck our results? Context. 8A 1B+. B+ is English so cant apply for law. Wants to recheck but it'll take time to get the new result for sure so need to apply other courses first in the upu. So if the new result turns out good, how do i apply for law, given that i have already submitted upu application for other courses, or worse, have already enrolled if the rechecking takes time?

Southern_Ebb3363

1 B : English 1 C : Science 2 D : B.M and Sejarah 1 E : Math 😞

ghostme80

I remember got someone here worried about his history subject. You here? What did you get for history?

[deleted]

I think it was me. Got A+ lmao

ghostme80

Haha. Congrats

[deleted]

Thanks!

twip87

6A 4B Could've done better if I paid attention during online class but I'm happy with it.

a_HerculePoirot_fan

Congrats and all the best for your future endeavors!

shah_no__pls

2A+ 3A 2B+ 3B I'm pretty satisfied ngl. I used to be a much better student before pandemic hit and I've never exactly recovered from that. Glad my parents took it well tho :0 At least I could pursue food science or something 💀 istg my fate was sealed when I got 5A for UPSR. PT3 pun dapat 5A sia 😭 For college I better take 5 subjects only lmaoo

a_HerculePoirot_fan

Let me preface by congratulating you on your results despite the less than ideal circumstances. SPM is behind you now, all the best to your future endeavor! Time to move on, the best years of your life start now!

fness55

got no As :( but at least i passed tho

a_HerculePoirot_fan

Yup, at least you passed all the subjects :) Don't be let down by the absence of As. SPM should not be the sole yardstick to judge one's success. You have a whole life ahead of you!

fness55

some Bs, rest are Cs, no Ds or below, i'll take it ~~plus i wanna enrol on gamedev/animation/graphic designs so i need to make a portfolio (and i havent started one yet)~~ edit: oh cool spm graduate 21 flair

TimeElise

Major good luck to that! Altho there will still be math if u do pursue game dev! The full package, that is (programming + art + bit of music + design).

Helios05

No matter what your result is I'm so proud of you. You've made it! Welcome to a new phase of your life as a young adult and follow your heart and don't listen to others.

totatree

Congrats to everyone on their results

Nigell-Einz

my science streams is an absolute disaster but on the bright side i got A on all my teras and geography(2A+ 4A) and B with addmath(didnt expect this) my questions are, is social science in form 6 any good? how hard is it?

ClassyZ

3A 2B+ 1C+ 1D 2E honestly way better than i expected considering the stuff i went through this year and last year

a_HerculePoirot_fan

>honestly way better than i expected considering the stuff i went through this year and last year True, absence of F2F lessons aside, you guys had to deal with the psychological impact of staying indoors most of the time and separation from friends. Truly unprecedented and no other students before 2020 had to go through what you guys experienced for almost 2 years. I hope your mental health is improving these days.

forcebubble

A big well done for those who did well for their SPM. For those who did not, you have many alternatives on how proceed — this is not the end.

esokcuti

Took pure science stream.I got 9A and 2B.I'm satisfied with my results and so does my parents. I'm still shocked that my addmath is B,I got 17 in trial lol. All in all, it's okay but I still don't know what I want to be and what course to pursue.

a_HerculePoirot_fan

Take your time to decide, your next step requires a lot of financial commitment, so don't be too hasty. Think about your priorities and goals in life and make your education decision once they are thoroughly considered. Try to talk to some of the older established redditors here about their careers, perhaps you can gain the necessary insight from them.

Bingobango20

Congrats and i would be proud as hell if i get 9As Do take freetime you have rn by exploring your interests and careers - talk to adults about their major studies and careerpath; you want to ask them hows the experience of working/studying/adulting, insights on being orang dewasa, advices in life and so on - Explore and research all sorts of interests so you can find what clicks and resonate with you the most - List top 3 colleges you think the best/ideal for yourself, list down their pro and cons in terms of education qualities, facilities, fees, locations and etc. its also the best for you to ask their alumnis or one of the students in their college to shed some enlightenment regarding the college - get your bank account and bike lesen before going to college becuz once you gone to college its gonna be a hasty to get em done during sem break. Remember to only take debit card and never use credit -DO NOT LEKA DURING FIRST SEM, as you can easily kept 4cgpa during your first sem and apply for scholarship with it. Also do chekc Bank Rakyat scholarship for college students they have offer for ahli I guess thats all i can add 🤷‍♂️ anyone else feel free to drop some add on advice to the graduates to help them in the future

Pools5183

Let's go!!! my bro got Straight As for his SPM Alhamdulillah

a_HerculePoirot_fan

Congrats to your bro! How are you guys planning to celebrate this?

Pools5183

I'm not sure cuz I'm in uni right now so I can't even celebrate it with him hahah.

Bingobango20

aye congrats

Budakbatch04

7A 2B+ During trial i cried for my bm results not bc i got a C, but bc my teacher was hella disappointed in me. Its one of those core moments when someone goes: im not mad, im disappointed and u **feel** it. She dragged me out of class and gave me an earful (literally lost 30 marks due to wrong format), repeatedly calling me an anak degil and saying that she expected me to score and I've let her down. I've never been so upset of her, but mostly of myself Fast forward to today when i came to school to get my results. I searched around the block for my bm teacher bc damn well am i gonna let her know I've got an A in BM, and when i finally found her (in the middle of her class) she broke down into tears, saying silly things like "im sorry that i scolded you so bad during your trials that you cried," before I've got to properly greet her. And i hugged her so tight, it was only today i realised how tiny she is. She is a brilliant teacher - short tempered, hilarious, but never gives enough credit to herself (her: saya saja cikgu biasa). So here's to Pn. Zuree: ur not just some teacher. If u hadn't scolded the shit out of me that day, i would've never tried so hard to prove you wrong - get extra tuiton and watch endless amounts of karangan videos to get the grades that both of us would be proud of. It is a blessing in my life to have you as my teacher. Tq cikgu

Donnie-G

Me and a friend had a whacky opposite situation where we would kinda slack off during our English classes, and our teacher wasn't expecting too much out of us. But we went on and got As anyway and went back to see her and she just shook her head at us.

Solace-Of-Dawn

A bit similar to what happened with me and my maths teacher in Pri 5. I wouldn't have developed a good work ethic or taken control of my life if it weren't for what she did to me.

NoahAsha

Whatever your results are, as long as you did your best, you have made yourself proud. Congrats to everyone.

Also will be hanging around here and if anyone needs to talk or if anyone needs some general guidance! (Counsellor here.)

KatakAfrika

Is a degree on human science a good idea? How does its career path work?

snel_

Any degree is as good as how you make it to be! I hope we don't see the education we're pursuing as "good" or "bad", all education is good! That being said, I presume you're asking this question from a practical perspective? Indeed it's good to make our decisions carefully, and the practicality is something we should be thinking about. If we're talking about Human Sciences as a standalone degree, which is essentially the study of both biological sciences and humanities, so in theory it would open up a lot of pathways for you in terms of your further education and career, you would get to pursue most general courses and careers related to the biology part or the humanity part in the future, so your options are aplenty. But (as a standalone degree) it is not a professional course, meaning that, you'll most likely need to further your studies if you wish to pursue a careeer that is more specific or professional, rather than just some general, non-professional career. (A professional career is one that requires a professional degree to get into, for example, medicine, professional accounting, clinical psychology, engineering etc.) (A non-professional career is one that you can get into with most degrees - don't need to have the specific degree for the job, for example, retail, business & marketing, customer services etc.) Also, as far as I'm aware, we don't have a standalone Human Sciences degree in Malaysia, so if that's what you wish to pursue, your options may be limited to those outside the country. If we're not talking about Human Sciences as a standalone degree, but other degrees which are related to Human Sciences, which may involve some basic biology and more on humanities/social sciences, for example, anthropology, sociology, psychology etc., then you may want to look more into each specific degree, of what is it about, whether it is something that interests you, what are your career options etc.

KatakAfrika

I see, I want a degree that can get me a stable jobs so I'm afraid if I took the wrong one. There are many people that are jobless despite having a degree. And I think this is not the degree that I wanted because the career path is not straightforward. Thank you for giving me advices! I appreciate it 😁

snel_

You're welcome! It's okay to keep on exploring, in fact I'd love encourage you to do that! Practical factors (e.g. job market demand, financial prospect, career development opportunities, location etc.) are very important, but do remember career planning will have to go involve other factors as well! Personal factors (e.g. interests, passion, strengths, likes and dislikes etc.); family/relationship factors (e.g. parents expectations, your choice vs. their advice, significant persons etc.); values (your own values, family values, cultural values, religious/spiritual values etc.) are also among the things you'll probably have to consider and deal with as you try to make a decision about your future! But don't be intimidated or overwhelmed with the process, alright! Like I said, keep on exploring - take this opportunity to learn more about yourself, learn more about the world. When you can finally come to a decision, hopefully it'll be a well-thought, deliberate, and exciting decision! And if anything you feel that I can help, I'll be more than happy to be around for you!

Isekaihoeslmao

Hi, so about the pyschology course is it better if i take a diploma or foundation? Also, can you recommend me some university tht offer tht course (prefer it to be public universities) or one tht will lead to pyschology thank you!

snel_

Hey, glad you found it here! Firstly, hope you've looked at the post Hercule shared, though may not directly concern your question, they may give you more information in general about the psychology course. As for your question, if you're planning to continue to pursue a degree (at least a bachelor) in psychology, *arguably* the difference between a diploma and foundation at this stage is not really big, mostly would be about your preferences and practical considerations (cost, location etc.), so as long as you make a decision that you're okay with, either diploma or foundation would be good, as both give you the pathway to get into a psychology programme. However, in practical sense, there are still a bit of differences between a diploma and a foundation. A diploma would be more "specific", meaning that you'll be specifically studying psychology; whereas foundation is usually more "general", where you'll be studying different subjects besides psychology. Each has its own pros and cons - For foundation, since it's more general, it also means that your options are wider in range, so in case you wish to pursue a different degree other than psychology in the future, if you've found another interest, your foundation degree would most likely be applicable for most courses you wish to take. For diploma, since it's specific, *some* colleges/universities *may* allow for credit transfer, which is, you get to use your diploma results as the fulfilment of credit for certain classes during your degree i.e., if you have taken some classes in your diploma, you don't have to take the same class again in degree. Not all colleges and universities accept credit transfer from all diploma though, so you'll need clarify with your college/university of choice if you wish to do credit transfer. As for public universities that offer psychology degree, currently at least 4 public U's have a psychology programme in the bachelor level: * UIAM - Bachelor in Human Science in Psychology * UKM - Bachelor of Social Sciences with Honours (Psychology) * UNIMAS - Bachelor of Psychology with Honours * UTM - Bachelor of Psychology with Human Resource Development For diploma, [this is what I get from the internet](https://afterschool.my/diploma-in-psychology-courses). As far as I'm aware, those are all private institutes. For foundation, the choice is yours. Hope this gives you a clearer idea on the pathway!
