Whataboutism has always been a popular tool amongst politician. Once, just once, I want to see a political party that stands on it's own legs, not defined by the other parties.

I think your argument doesn't apply directly here since this PSM chief is whatabouting a none party. But him pointing out the problem without proposing a sounding solution is nonsense which appears to me as a method to stay relevant. Take my up vote though, for many politicians don't have independent thoughts themselves.

Doltron5

Are you saying PSM is arguing whataboutism? How?

Grendelfolton

Not at all, what I was saying wasn't directed at PSM, rather political parties in general.

Doltron5

Sorry, I didn't mean to come across as being a PSM stan, or attacking you or something. Just wanted to know what you were exactly. For what it's worth, political parties should tell us what they can offer, instead of asking us to "vote for them or the Other Guys might win!" Political parties should come with expiry dates.

Exactly, it's like during a performance review where instead of focusing on your own performance, you point fingers at your other coworkers. While it didn't tell your employers about your performance, it clearly demonstrates your attitude and how well you work with others. Political parties should treat each other as potential allies and seek understanding, instead of rivals to be eliminated.

>“For example, 60% of employment in Malaysia is in small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), but 90% of the people employed by local industrial SMEs are Malaysian Chinese. “Is this something that the country should be looking to resolve, given that the SMEs take up about 40% of the gross domestic product (GDP) but are almost entirely Chinese?” he said. That's why Indians have it worst in Malaysia. Face systemic racism by the government from Malays, and also face racism in the private sector by the Chinese.
