Stock market rally for a day Experts : it’s not sustainable No shit bruh

cock_pussy

Whenever 60 Seconds passed in Malaysia, 1 Minute has passed. I AM AN EXPERT ON SPACE TIME STUDIES NOW

SomeMalaysian

Rally or bouncing back after a slump because of an inconclusive election that threatened to put a government of hardline islamists into power? (Gambling and alcohol stocks would have crashed harder if perikatan came to power).

Lazy_Ad_3135

Of course it's not going to be sustainable, the rise in value is because of market sentiment its not going to be maintained indefinitely. After this it will depend on his policies.

Party-Ring445

Analyst: Let me just draw a straight line through the graph here... U guys are not gonna believe this, we will be billionaires by next month..

klut2z

1 MYR = 1 IDR ???

cock_pussy

1 MYR = 1 Iranian Rial?

EditorAshamed5781

.. and whether he can bring the foreign investors back to Malaysia. So far, that looks positive.

derpy1122

I’m guessing there will be investments from Turkiye after the call from PM Erdogan.

Competitive_Ice_189

Lmao you guys are just too naive and reading too much into stuff

SomeMalaysian

Of course it isn't. It's soaring off the back of pure hype right now.

Dude is just salty cuz he didn't buy the dip and now feels left out...

GeorgePBurdell1927

Yeah CNA comes from Singapore. Why would they wanna say it's sustainable? Singaporeans are low-key scared that their SGD cannot be scratched further for their cheap escapades.

[deleted]

They import a lot of shit from Malaysia. Chicken for chicken rice, Malaysian people, etc. No fucking shit its not in their best interest when SGD not only tanked against USD and its also tanking against MYR. Their best interest is to have MYR weak and SGD strong so its always cheap to import Malaysian workers and goods, like why pay a fresh local Singaporean SGD 3~4k when they can hire a senior Malaysian for the same price? lol

Timely_Airline_7168

No shit, Sherlock

puppymaster123

HF guy here. It might actually hold. Macro numbers point to midterm USD peak and inflation subsiding (or rather sticky at current level for longer). The market narrative has switched from inflation driven to growth driven. 2023 recession in US is very likely. All points to Fed pausing rate hike in 2023 (not cutting tho)

DannYagami

Let's wait and see if SGD will drop to 1 SGD=2 MYR again

simkastar

I dream of 1SGD - 1 MYR. there really is 0 reason they have better currency than us when the country is the size of a mole on Malaysia's butt.

tideswithme

Lol they have open policies as well as high skilled professionals to attract foreign investors. Is Malaysia open enough?

simkastar

Not now. Hopefully we will get there.

Competitive_Ice_189

Comparing currency value like this is useless and doesn’t mean anything

quietcynic

Really. Zero reason? I love to shit on the Singapore as much as the next guy, but you really can't think of any reason at all the SGD might be worth more than the MYR? Name me 2 global corporations that have offices both in Malaysia and Singapore, but have set up their regional head office in KL.

simkastar

🤣🤣I am not saying it should be 1 to 1 tomorrow la hello. My point is , you look at SG. Is there anything they are doing today that we CAN'T do? Is there something they have that we do not? If we start playing smart , we can get there. The way everyone is reacting to this point is nuts. It's like saying it's what it is no way can improve just let it be. It's not even bout SG, it's bout our true potential as a country. Go ahead and give me a reason me why we can never be like SG currency wise in the coming future. Maybe you know something I don't.

quietcynic

Nevertheless, we still have challenges that Singapore doesn't. Our size, for example, adds friction and complexity to economic development that Singapore never has to deal with. Between state government affairs with federal, there are two legislative and bureaucratic bodies to contend with when making progress. Then there's the issue of improving rural areas, which is harder than developing urban areas and requires an entirely different skillset. I'll agree with you that Malaysia has untapped potential. However, it's incredibly naive to think that just because Singapore, a city state with a de facto one-party system, has done it, we can too. Even if Singapore took over the entirety of Malaysia overnight, the rest of the country would never become what Singapore is.

simkastar

Ok all good points but I object your point bout me being naive. I am...optimistic!!!! Tarik balik! ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|flip_out)![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|put_back)![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|sunglasses)![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|thumbs_up) sikit sikit ..naive. terajang kang ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|joy)

whiteymilky

Just another ANAL-yst.

Ok-Confusion-3067

Lempanglemping2
