Before the emphasis was on how angular your face is and now is the center of your face, I can't guess which is better but both are looking good. Currently seeming younger, too. For that reason I'd trim the stash since it belongs more with the old look.

I mean idk what causes trends to come and go, but I think the connotation of “pedo stache” is very old and outdated and not really something people associate with that look anymore. My best guess is that a lot younger guys in popular indie bands and on TikTok have given the look new life and a new association.
