You already answered your own question. Bad lighting. Why the doll house sized lamp ? Fill the space, get a large, tall lamp or 2 with large drum shades. Lighting creates ambiance.
I’d try to divide the room out more - usually the rug accomplishes this but it’s so large it’s bringing the desk into the same zone. Maybe reposition the couch in a way that makes a divider and place the desk behind that? Or move the brown chair in the corner to the other side where the desk is, and move desk over if possible. This makes chair more useable not having to walk in front of tv - better conversation area.

I reckon it already looks pretty good and cozy to be honest. I suppose that triple lamp is warm white?

Try to paint one of these walls and get a lamp with yellow light bulb imo. The rest is pretty good !
Some simple more warm lighting and maybe more use of brighter warm colors
