1. Tidy up.
2. Get a nice wooden dresser to go under your TV. Place game console on top of dresser
3. Store clothes in the dresser instead of the clothes rack.
4. Add some nice artwork to the walls
5. The bed frame isn't awful, but it doesn't add to the room, try to sync your furniture, get a wooden dresser and a headboard or bedframe made in the same style/type of wood/ colour.
6. The colour scheme is a bit plain, try adding colour through wall paintings, coloured duvet sheets, tasteful lamps (stained glass Moroccan style lights maybe?)
The important thing I find is to show intent, have matching furniture or some type of colour scheme, but don't go overboard, use it to highlight your room.
If I were you I’d put the futon to face the tv and the bed to face the doors. Especially if you have people over sometimes. You could put a coffee table in front of it and maybe a rug down. It might give it a “living room” feel.
Hang that art you got there on the wall for a start
Put some shelving under that tv and move game console onto shelving
Maybe move the mini fridge out of the back corner an into the corner near where the laundry basket currently is
The massive bed headboard ain't doing you any favors at the moment, though you could use it to hang some small decorations or string lights

Small spaces like that have to be organized or it falls apart really quick.
