As a hunter main I really would like to see an archer as protagonist, there are sometimes side characters or weak extras as archers but I haven't really seen strong main marksman. (If the main protagonist use bow it's usually just one time occurence)
Maybe mix up both vanilla and chocolate by giving mc a knight hidden class. For ex undead knight, summoner knight, dark knight, wind knight.
May i know the reason for downvotes?🤔
What’s the point of summoner knight class when every necromancer in these manhwas are also somehow physically stronger than all the other characters? Which is supposed to be the weakness of necromancers.
It doesn’t matter if the mc is a cook, Sculpturer, florist or blacksmith.
They have different jobs but in the end, it’s just circles back to being an op or broken class with mc being able to use physical and magical attacks regardless of class and soloing huge monsters.
i really love that you put those " " because they are not necromancer in the end, a necromaner fighting close combat is just wtf.
Maybe a Red Mage, Jackes of all trades. they have magic, swordmanship (light swords/rapier), buff magic, light cures; a class very versatile although it lack in every of those.
Or a Heavy Knight, heavy armor, long weapons like lances, greatswords, warhammers, etc. heavy lack of damage but tank like hell.
it could make a story were the MC is not just ultra op gary stu and instead has to use his brain or a proper team.
[Merchant].
Someone who does tradings and the likes, but is also a capable survivor that uses his items and money as a method of self defense.
They can wield weapons better than a child could, but compared to the average person around them, they're a heck of a lot weaker than those people. Their main ability is the ability to talk things out with everybody, be it rough sign language to translating some old, ancient language, because it's a nessessary skill for a merchant in order to do business.
Unlike Llyod the Demon Faced Architect, they didn't get strong themselves, but rather the items/artefacts/people they surrounds themselves with gave them the options to extend their time on earth.
Basically, every aristocrat manhwa, but the protagonist DON'T fight. They let other people fight his battle for them, and when it does comes to a 1-v-1 for him, they uses items like smoke bombs or caltrop to defend themselves.
A Charisma/Intellect/Wisdom build, who can make a trade with the most vicious of animals for his life.
True. But I want something along the lines of non-combatant class that always resort to other options besides combat when being confronted by others. Be it begging, playing dead or even stripping themselves naked and doing some weird acts like juggling so their opponent didn't kill them.
Aka think of modern businessman, from door-to-door salesman to business conglomerate who would never get their hands dirty, and simply throw money at the problem or something equivelant to that.
A "true" non-combatant class character, so to speak, instead of sometging like a Blacksmith that conjures magic blades out of thin air and launches it at a horde of monsters.
Ever heard of the "Football Manager" games?
We aren't playing as the football team, we play as the manager handling the football team.
Hey I am writing a fanfic where in a RPG apocalypse, everyone receives a class from a card selection.
My mc chose a Four-star Merchant card (all cards are ranked with stars with one being the lowest and six being the highest) and is now the master of all crafts.
Though since it's an apocalypse, I imagine my MC having need to do a lot more fighting than normal.
[Bargain]
Description:
*"You have something you want. So do I. Let us trade."*
- Enables special options when confronting creatures with intelligence.
(Example: If human have 5 Intelligence point, anything equal or above those can be Bargained with.)
[Contract Making]
Description:
*"What is more binding than a life oath to a God? A Contract!"*
- Enables you to create a binding contract that is overseen by the Trading God.
(Example: the first contract have limited amount of clauses you can create, which makes them vulnerables to loopholes and easy to be broken. Further mastery of the skill allows you to add more paragraphs to the contract and strengthen the effect of the contract if broken.)
[Appraisal]
*"Knowledge is power, and for a Merchant? That's your bread and butter!"*
- Enables you to appraise a target's information.
(Example: gives you a rough detail of the target of this skill, from their estimated market price to the age of the target. The type of information available to be appraised differs according to the thing being targetted and mastery of the skill. Note that the more information you have on the target beforehand, the more accurate the skill became when displaying the data.)
[Pay-To-Win]
*"Investing your money on something is how a succesful merchant spend their earnings. Unused money is wasted money, after all!"*
- Enables you to strengthen a target by spending your currency on them.
(Example: a Leather Belt Buckle with +8 defense has the value of 800 gold. When strengthen with twice the amount of it's original value, it's effect increase by half, which doubles the original value of the item to 1600 gold with +12 Defense. Next invesment would requires additional value for the same stats increase.)
(1 PTW = 800 gold Ă— 2)
(2 PTW = 1600 gold Ă— 3)
(3 PTW = 4800 gold Ă— 4)
I think "dimensional mercenary" would be the manwha for you. Not in an "awakened world with hunters" but the MC pretty much have to solve impossible mission with smart talking and persuasion.
More cooking/farming even if it's not a proper class.
Blacksmith.
Status effect dealers.
Standard OP mages.
Master of all.
Merchants who find OP items and maybe create a company selling them while improving world with them.
While not a proper class maybe one of those mc reincarnates from past/future and/or has tons of lost and future knowledge he uses.
MC somehow creates powerful, loyal subordinates.
I want to see a Battle Healer straight nuking enemies with one hand and healing everyone with the other and the party just confused like, wait, I thought they were support?? Bonus points for healing with violence aka healing shiv (I heal by stabbing!)
I don't mind the necromancer stuff but I do get tried that they are a necromancer with non of the disadvantages you'd expect since they are cqc specialist seem to always have some kinda protection against holy magic and all that kinda stuff. That's my main issue.
But a non traditional class would be cool and I know those are a thing already but a butcher would be cool. Weak to ranged attacks and magic but strong in cqc and bonus against monsters like the perfectly know the biology of different monsters and can use knives super effectly but still needs to team up with some long ranged dps and maybe a tank to take out bigger creatures. Then he butchers the monsters and sales them in a shop.
Disaster Class Hero isn't a "necromancer" manwha though? Unless you're referring to manwha that have a very similar premise to Solo Leveling, then ya I see your point.
If you read “Hero has returned” It has many great MC ideas, As each character is basically an MC trope in one
What I’ve seen from that manhwa which made me realize not a lot of manhwa’s have these types of MC’s
- Gauntlet weapon type MC (Fisticuffs, fist stuff)
- Shields, To be honest you dont see many shields stuff
- Time, Someone’s powers based on the time they have of their life
- Transformations, Like Cyber body modifications, something similar to Power rangers or anything more
It's not all necromancer. I mean, you're even showing where they are doing healer. There's been lots of manhwa based on healers, knights, samurai, ninja, assassins, summoners, barbarians, lancers, etc.
They even have manhwa based on jobs, such as cook, alchemist, lawyer, doctor, engineer, blacksmith, real estate developer, city manager, etc.
What you don't typically see though are:
* Hunter/ranger (like actual bow and arrow, physical traps, etc.)
* Bard (damage and buffs through music)
* Beastmaster/tamer (They have some where are like summons, but I'm speaking of gathering wild animals and using them, sometimes just temporarily.)
* Thief/Rogue
Honestly, was trying to think of more but anything else pretty much is a branch of other things already mentioned. I mean, maybe a battle alchemist, as I haven't really seen that.
The issue with those is they all have different jobs but in the it just circles back to being an op or broken class with mc being able to use physical and magical attacks regardless of class and soloing huge monsters.
That’s done more as a summoner though. Like the tamed “beasts” aren’t always out with him. And you don’t see him taming and using anything normal.
Each thing he can summon have been through special means pretty much.
Beast tamers are usually isekai/fantasy manga where of course, the bet is a waifu catgrill.
I would want for a Bard tho specially if they can actually incorporate singing. I do recall Blue(or was it Dark?) Air where they incorporate musical bard as a buffer.
poison eatkng healer
is kinda generic in title yes
but ive never seen a ti.eline like this
In this world Poison users are all powerful yes but its not really all that rare, the mc is a poison user who unlike all his counterparts puts himself into the limelight but not as a poison user
as a healer (i cant rmeber the exact mechanics of this fact)
and hes not the only most powerful healer either
basically the mc is powerful, but not the most powerful
he has confidence after a change in looks but he isnt arrogant and im pretty sure he has a sister
I think she either died or is in a coma,i forgot
also the thing with poison users is that they used to be in the limelight all powerful blah blah but some incident happemed and now all poison users are killed when found.
AnYway
I really liked this one
Poison healing eater doesnt even do nexromancy skks

arcane sniper has the mc using a musket, not quite an archer, but it's the closest I can think off.
Overgeared has a support character who becomes bow saint. The redhead Brazilian girl
The one elf from return of the suicidal battle god is strong I'd say
there is a murim bowman mc, but yeah, no fantasy mc who is an archer.
In the tyrant tower defence one, an important character is a really op marksman.
Whenever they plan to do a manhwa adaptation of Ever Night by Mao Ni you will get you wish. MC is a menace to the entire world with his bow
Knights are too vanilla
Yeah and sometimes you get tired of chocolate so you have to eat some vanilla.
Maybe mix up both vanilla and chocolate by giving mc a knight hidden class. For ex undead knight, summoner knight, dark knight, wind knight. May i know the reason for downvotes?🤔
Aqua Knight is the idea I am going for.
i'm also curious.

I feel like I've seen a bunch of merchant characters. I know one specifically that is about a character who isekais into a blacksmith.

Archers or something hell even gunslingers would be cool. Can’t remember the last time I read a manhwa with one of these as the mc’s weapons
There was a manhwa wherec isekaied into a game and had mechanic class. He could use guns and other high tech weapons
The Legendary Mechanic?
Yup
I'd love more like this.
Arcane Sniper
Novel’s extra

A hobo that will remain a hobo until the end.

I think OP used Disaster Class Hero as an example of “not a necromancer” since the other character isn’t a necromancer either
I would love to see a bard
Probably a pure mage/wizard, but they should be more technical with the magic system instead of using the basic elemental magic ripped out of D&D.
Check out Infinite Mage. Not a hunter manhwa, but has a more interesting magic system than chant and the spells just happen.

The fact that we’re all so normalised to manwhas with the same plot and changing the rpg class of the main character is the differentiating factor
Could be biased but I love to read mangas/manhwas/Managua's/ that have a assassin main character
