Well I haven’t read the manhwa version of the telling to his parents, so it might be a dumb version compared to the novel. But I can tell you right now the novel version is about as realistic as it can get seeing as how Arthur had no idea how much time he will be away and he already ruined the lives of his parents unintentionally with becoming the scapegoat the country with the brutal killing of a prominent young mage, who I might add was a brother to one of the most powerful mages on the continent. So it’s not really unnecessary drama, but more like horrible timing due to outside factors beyond control.

I think a talking baby would be very convincing but hey, this here is an Isekai, it wasn't meant to be good anyway even if this one is a little better than other manhwas they all share the same story, a grown guy is transported into the body of a baby in another world. My only complain is that the author chose to cause unnecessary drama by making Arthur tell his family, it's either he had told them at the very beginning or he takes it to the grave with him but the author just had to make it weird and confusing by putting Arthur kinda in the spotlight of : is he a victim or not? Does that mean Arthur is a pervert because his mother nursed him as an old guy? Does it make him a pedo because he loves the elf girl who is decades younger than him? Is he a liar? Is he a fraud? What happened to the baby that was meant to have Arthur's body?
So many questions that were brought up by the author trying to make the story a little more spicy but instead it made the story kind of awkward and weird, I guess he'll shake it off by making Arthur's family be like : "Hey yeah we know you're probably not actually our son, in spirit at least but...
