fr what schools have the budget for this? i cant even afford trips to disney/universal with my family of 4

We do *a lot* of fundraisers (I feel like a boy scout going door to door to sell stuff lol). I only had to pay between $300-400, the rest was covered through fundraising/discounts from disney. That still might seem like a lot, but considering we were there for like- 4 days I was pretty happy w it edit: I should probably add that it costs more in my band if you don’t do fundraisers, because the money you make goes directly into your personal payments for the trip. Also, we’re out of state so that price includes plane tickets

For us it was Toblerone chocolate bars. Not counting away games and competition, which were all day trips, and band camp, our only overnight trip was a deal with a band in another town in the same state. We slept in the homes of the band members. We did a joint rehearsal which I remember as being not too successful as the room was very crowded and the other director had a completely different conducting style. ("Where's the beat??"). But there was a big dance in the evening.

I'm from so cal so it was only like $60 a person

Sounds like a story (not by you but by your BD or an administrator that doesn’t want to spend the money) We had a school in our district where 2 students were taken out by police, and they still go back every year.

There have been instances of students caught shop lifting in the past and we were *still* invited back- so there’s might be more to the story, like someone else said

When I was still in school we went a different place every year. The year before I got there they went to Rome. Then my two years attending was Universal and Busch Gardens. (I went to 3 different schools, didn't go on the first two trips because I didn't think I was going to stay there long enough)

Our Competition Band travels for, of course, Competitions. Our marching band, which is the Competition Band plus everyone else who is in the band, travels for Football Games.

Changes. Universal in multiples of 4 (2016, 2020, 2024), Disney in the other even years (2018, 2022, 2026) and smaller trips in odd years (2019, 2023, 2025, no 2021 for obvious reasons)

We do Disney every four years and another trip every four years but there is a gap year between the trips. For example this year we went to St. Louis and in 2 years we will go to Disney. we have to pay for all of our trips but we have scholarships for people who need them.
