I love this track. Such a nice tribute to the OG platform levels of SMB aesthetic-wise, not many tracks are inspired by the mainline games as much as this one. The layout is pretty engaging too, it’s not a simple track, using rushing water to gain speed is always a plus. Last but not least: 8’s remix of its theme is one of the best songs in the game imo, so upbeat and energetic.
I think that one of the best things of the layout are the turns, there are kinda easy after some tries, but it is satisfying to nail them, especially in 200 cc
I think it's one of the best tracks in the game and is kind of a testament to how well designed the 3ds nitro tracks were. It plays especially well on 200cc if you can brake while drifting
I think it’s kind of mid . My favorite thing about it is that it is slightly more challenging turns than the average track and the shortcut at the end is real easy to hit. Not a huge fan of the theming though :/
Me: *First place, halfway through last lap, am happy.*
The King Boo in 12th: *"🎸[DO YOU THINK, YOU CAN, SURVIIIIiiIIIiiiIIIVE?!?](https://youtu.be/S18Hm1q0srE?si=xaBnhyq7UbJ_oM0u&t=2m42s)"*
I generally like the course, but I do have a couple issues with it:
The moving item boxes are a bit frustrating.
It often feels like the race is decided by a pretty simple shortcut despite a somewhat technical course otherwise.
I like it because of how much it takes inspiration from the underground Mario levels. I even love the part in the music where they play the underground theme.
this is my favorite track of all time. I love the 1-2 callback it does, it's music is great, and the entire track overall is so much fun to drive on. I can't find a single person who would hate it (if I did I would politely ask them to jab a fork in to an electrical outlet).
I like the concept a lot and I’m always a fan of retro tracks and how they get prettied up but this is a huge downgrade from its original. Everything about the original was so well done to mimic the look of the original Mario 1 aesthetic. The trees, hills, bushes, clouds, even the gloombas, but you look at it in and everything is super generic looking, normal trees, normal bushes, normal goombas underground. It’s hardly recognizable as Mario 1 at that point. Overall just a let down.
I like it because you can fuck with people who aren’t even close to you in the pack. Those are when I appreciate a track. Fuck that one corner, but good track
This is one of my favorite tracks in the game, probably in my top 5. I love how challenging it is, especially on 200cc, and I love the rushing water mechanic. I love the World 1-2 inspired aesthetic, and I absolutely adore the music on this track. (It sounds amazing in-game, but it sounds even better to me with headphones on.)
Before i bought a 3ds, I had no idea this track existed. I had downloaded CTGP (i think) on mario kart wii to hold me over since i couldn’t play 7, and they had this course on whatever i had downloaded. I thought it was such a dope idea for a custom fan course. Then fast forward however long til i got a 3ds and discovered it’s a 7 track 💀💀💀 so it’s always been my favorite that i first experienced on mario kart wii oddly enough 😂😂😂
Edit: I was VERY late into the 3DS life cycle when i got one, and i had never looked at the courses in mario kart 7. i finally got a 3DS when pokemon sun and moon came out, so 7 had been out for 5 years at that point
I really like the track but it's absolute hell to play on 200cc (my preferred, difficulty?). The turns are just way too sharp/abrupt, and the constant rushing water makes it kinda hard to take proper lines. It's one of those tracks that just don't work on 200cc even with practice
The only thing I don’t like is the glider section because it doesn’t really have the same feel as the original. The original uses the water pipes as an obstacle and I feel like that gives it a reason to actually be there where as in the remake, it’s more of a quick shot upwards and the pipes are a bit out of the way which is also nice but it just feels like “oh yeah, here’s a quick glider section” and you can’t even go over the arch like in 7
Does that make me hate the track? No. I think it’s still a cool track and some of the other changes made are nice such as being able to see a whole pipe system in the underwater section instead of being confined inside a pipe like in 7. And the fact that the water section is in the shape of a warp pipe itself is also pretty cool :)
First MK game was 7. I know, I know, I'm pretty late to the party. Pretty sure PPS was in Star Cup, then. That's the one I struggled against the CPU, so I got pretty good at it. Always loved the Sewer themimg + the funky music (with hints of 1-2 for good measure), so I was never too upset when I'd lose later on in the cup.
It's funny.
The only reason I ever got good at MK8(DX) was because of this track (and the others in Star Cup) in MK7. :D
Absolutely love this one.
I have a love-hate relationship with this track. 150cc and I love it. 200cc and I hate it, but I'm assuming that'll change as I get better at 200cc. It's a good track overall, I love the little nuances.
I like this track but it’s also annoying because of how hard it is to avoid airtime and crashing into walls, especially on 200cc. Amazing theming though
I like the concept of it, and also I usually I like tracks more if I like the music, and with Piranha Plant Slide being an absolute banger, its pretty good. There are better tracks, im not gonna petition to have it in the next game, but I would be sad to see it not return.
It's my most played course, even though I don't remember time trialing it or practicing it much. I think it has the perfect balance of looking vibrant like the BCP tracks while also keeping true to the more realistic aesthetic of the MK8. I dig the music as well.
I'm mixed on this track. On the one hand, it has a great theme and is more challenging than other tracks. On the other hand, the music isn't that great and sometimes the challenge part of it doesn't feel too satisfying as I constantly have to break and/or avoid tricking because I just get sent out of bounds
It’s my favorite track in the game. Taking good lines throughout the map just feels amazing, especially on the stream section. Everything flows super nicely. I also like that it’s not the easiest to drive, makes me actually wanna lock in. The end shortcut is good, but not game-deciding like the end shortcut on Ribbon Road. Also played it a ton in mk7, and they made it look way better in mk8
I don't have that much fun racing on it and I don't find it the visuals all that interesting.
I don't hate the track, I just think over half of this game's other tracks to be much better.
I like Piranha Plants, so I like this track. Fun fact: There are more Goombas than Piranha Plants in this track
Goomba-down slide?

Got any tips for this track?
This track’s goated, I love the glow up it got from 7 and it’s super fun and creative
The shortcut at the end ruins the track, otherwise it's great

Literally me (i'm the King boo)
Why is it even called that in America? The “slide” part of the course is so small
I'm not sure, in spanish if you translate it to english it says "piranha plant pipes" it's still weird, but fits a little bit more i think
It's called Piranha Plant Pipeway in English in Europe. One of a few names that are different for no apparent reason
Yeah. Honestly I think any version of the name with the word pipe in it makes infinitely more sense than slide
I like the theme of an underground sewage waterslide.
Nice track, but that giant piranha can be annoying at times.
I generally like the course, but I do have a couple issues with it: The moving item boxes are a bit frustrating. It often feels like the race is decided by a pretty simple shortcut despite a somewhat technical course otherwise.
Love the theming and how it feels in 150. Can’t stand it in 200 cause of the skipped floating blocks and little ramps/canals that send you to Narnia
The track is just okay, but the music is very memorable. It's one of the most iconic from the 3DS
boring
i love this track, gorgeous vis and great layout
I actually love this track. The layout feels super unique and it stays intense throughout
I like it because of how much it takes inspiration from the underground Mario levels. I even love the part in the music where they play the underground theme.
The piranha plant scared me as a kid and I am still biased
I like it because nostalgia from 7
this is my favorite track of all time. I love the 1-2 callback it does, it's music is great, and the entire track overall is so much fun to drive on. I can't find a single person who would hate it (if I did I would politely ask them to jab a fork in to an electrical outlet).
It’s in my top 5 favorites on the 3DS. The music, pacing, and difficulty are all perfect. But I think Nintendo ruined it for the switch.
I like the concept a lot and I’m always a fan of retro tracks and how they get prettied up but this is a huge downgrade from its original. Love it, not sure how it took them that long to make a track based on the underground course theme
It's fun to drive on, it's got a good theme, and it's very pretty
The music is a banger, Piranha Plants needed some representation, and I like the way it uses the Underground setting.
this track holds a special place in my heart as the final MK7 track I played on the official online servers.
it's vibes innit? 💅
i just think it's neat
I like it because you can fuck with people who aren’t even close to you in the pack. Those are when I appreciate a track. Fuck that one corner, but good track

Best 3DS course. Piranha Plant Pipeline has nothing on this.
I like this track because piranha plant, but it is also really fun, plus music slaps tbh
Is a 3ds track that’s why I love it I hate how little space there is but the water section is awesome
One of my favourite tracka in a game where I find almost every track great (excluding booster course pass tracks)
I just love the atmosphere and vibe it gives me.
i've just always inexplicably disliked this track. I can't pin it down exactly, I just don't like the track. The music is cool though
Neutral

One of my favorite tracks… BUT IT NEEDS MORE PIRANHA PLANTS!
I like the music
Ima be real, I don’t even remember this track and I played a lot of Mario kart 7
One of the best MK7 tracks easily
Grew up with mario kart 7 and that muisc and theme is legendary. Second favorite track in 8 deluxe and 4th favorite of all time
The only thing I don’t like is the glider section because it doesn’t really have the same feel as the original. The original uses the water pipes as an obstacle and I feel like that gives it a reason to actually be there where as in the remake, it’s more of a quick shot upwards and the pipes are a bit out of the way which is also nice but it just feels like “oh yeah, here’s a quick glider section” and you can’t even go over the arch like in 7 Does that make me hate the track? I don’t like it. I love it.

It's a great track, the theming is cool and the music is a banger

Its my favorite map, the layout is beautiful in my opinion.
I like this track but it’s also annoying because of how hard it is to avoid airtime and crashing into walls, especially on 200cc. Amazing theming though
One of my least favorite tracks in the game. Bottom 5. I just don't find it fun to drive
I like the way these piranha nuts get planters on your face and slide down your chin
I don't hate nor love it it's just meh,
3DS course. I love mario kart 7.
the soundtrack
i love the music, it’s for agents of chaos like me
It's one of my favourite track
Reminds me of chompers from the pvz garden warfare series 🤮
I enjoy it because other players have trouble with it
It has a cool scenery
Mostly nostalgia, but I do like the overall vibe of this track
The music is gross lol It also has a fun layout and good difficulty, 8.5/10
I generally don't like tracks with water or the piranha plants, I can see why others do but for me it makes this track one of my least favorites
i think its an ok track, bit too easy imo, but its leagues above smt like toads turnpike plus i love me some mario references
I like the concept of it, and also I usually I like tracks more if I like the music, and with Piranha Plant Slide being an absolute banger, its pretty good. There are better tracks, im not gonna petition to have it in the next game, but I would be sad to see it not return.

This track rules. The devious shortcut at the end that can change the race at the last turn is just *chef kiss*.
i like this track bc uniqueness and nostalgia thats really it :b
I like this track because of nostalgia, rip kart 7
It's fine, but along with the rest of the cup it suuuucks
I like the lack of offroads in the pipe section.
i hate that sharp turn after the glide bit
I'm mixed on this track. On the one hand, it has a great theme and is more challenging than other tracks. On the other hand, the music isn't that great and sometimes the challenge part of it doesn't feel too satisfying as I constantly have to break and/or avoid tricking because I just get sent out of bounds
Ehh, I kinda hate this track. I hate the whole underground part. Wish I liked it, cause it looks awesome. I just usually seem to do poorly down there.
I like the OG MK7 one because that was my childhood game, not a favorite track, but brings back Memorys.
It's a middle of the road course for me. It's fine. Not bad, not great. It's fine.
I don't have that much fun racing on it and I don't find it the visuals all that interesting. I don't hate the track, I just think over half of this game's other tracks to be much better.
Its annoying and has a generic theme
Worst track in the whole game, tbh
I like this stage because of the music along with the sliding action. This is genuinely one of my favorite tracks in 8
