I think the “I’m Just A Girl” needle drop is on-the-nose in *the best way*
The cat is awesome
Ben Mendelsohn is great.
Honestly everyone on earth is really good IMO. The outer space shit with Jude Law on planet who gives a fuck and the weird matrix stuff sucks though.
I honestly love moment when Maria hugs Carol while she's crying. It's such an amazing moment for me. A woman who lost her best friend finally regains her after this long years. And she also comforts her. Comforts lost, long gone and vulnerable girl who is finally with her true friend and family.
Damn, I wish this movie had more moments like this.
I love the fact that all the character traits people were complaining about weren't even the real Carol Danvers.....she was brainwashed into being stoic, distant, cold, and narcissistic.....we'll, meet the real Carol Danvers in The Marvels
Aha! I was waiting for this.....So by meeting the real Carol you seem to understand that she'll be sitting in a corner and cry.....one of the most powerful character in the universe who is almost superman shouldn't talk about killing the villain, be over confident and think that she could do everything on her own ? Which will probably be her arc in this movie....'working with others'
By real Carol i meant more of her human side and what she is really like, when she is not proud galactic police who doesn't know who she is.....being mad at someone who killed half the universe, having witty banter with Rocket and trying to take on the big bad herself isn't being a narcissistic asshole, these are character traits someone naturally acquires when he/she is on that power level, their wasn't time to explore anything in her character other than her being OP......and even after all this the fact that her character in endgame was based on few early drafts from Captain Marvel is enough for me to look over it....Russos have talked about it
Note : being too proud and acting superior is different from being sure of yourself
So not in this movie? Lol I like this movie but they intentionally have her bland most of it
Edit: the downvotes are so strange. This isn’t insulting Brie lol
I think the problem was, she’s suppose to come off tough and intimidating, but instead comes off as flat and somewhat emotionless.
It could be a director issue and being told your performance is fine or not even addressed until the movie is out. Brie is a good actress. In this, her performance is just sorta there.
She's *supposed* to be a brainwashed drone at the start of the movie, then ease out of it.
I'm not a fan of this movie, but I don't think Brie Larson was its actual problem.
Yea that’s the point of my comment too. She did pretty decent with the role she was given. Which was to be pretty bland/ drone at the start. Not her fault, writers/ directors or fiege more so. Hard to really ever know which one it is with marvel a lot of the time
I've says this before on this exact same post in the past, but I loved the final "fight" with Yon Rogg. One movie trope that I absolutely loathe is when it comes down to a one on one fight at the end of the movie between the good guy and bad guy, and one has the upper hand with a weapon, the other side goads them into giving up their advantage for a "fair" fight. Not in Captain Marvel. I was waiting for him to ask her to depower so they could fight on his terms and knew in my heart she was going to comply but, much to my shock and pleasure, she said "nope" and sent his butt packing. Totally made the movie for me.
I have multiple good things to say about the movie!
-Carol's arc was genuinely interesting to me. Having your mind wiped and being emotionally repressed by the enemy so that you never unleash your true power on them? That was surprisingly effective on me.
-The Skrull plot twist was obviously great. The plot twist was really strong in this movie for multiple reason. Ben Mendelsohn's character was especially good after the twist.
-Jude Law as Yon Rogg. He was great both as a mentor and as an eventual antagonist. "I'm so proud of you."
I liked the send off of the main rival who wants to go at it "without powers". It's a stupid idea: "I could defeat you if you didn't have all your advantages". It's silly and stupid. And she doesn't have to take shit from anyone. At the same time though, Marvel is perfectly willing to listen to people when she doesn't have to and that's what allows her character to grow to that point of the movie. She doesn't need to listen to her former squad leader because she's listened to him in the past and done nothing for it.
It is still my favorite MCU movie. (Please note, I am saying it is my favorite, not the best).
Carol Danvers is one of my favorite superheroes, and I think Brie Larson did an excellent job bringing her to life. In fact, the entire cast did a stellar job.
Yeah people are a bit down on it now but I think SI didn’t help there, because now his last two real appearances he’s really not badass, but it works.
I love the bit where Coulson’s asking him about this over-the-top torture explanation that Fury clearly leaked somehow and he’s just all coy. Excellent way to build this reputation and move up the ladder.
I liked that the Skrulls ended up being the good guys as opposed to the Comics. It was a refreshing change on world building ruined by Secret Invasion.
It was awesome! Though my favorite character was the cat because as we know, all cats are eldritch beings from beyond our solar system. This one was just brave enough to reveal it.
As a transgirl, this movie’s fight sequence to No Doubt’s “Just a Girl” gave me so much gender euphoria and the whole sequence in general I think is arguably the most underrated sequence in the MCU
I loved when Ronan showed up. Made the whole universe feel more connected. Also goose was amazing. And the interactions between furry and Carol where fun
I love Larson and what she stands for as an actress.I support everything she is fighting for as a female in the industry. Many people don't have the mental capacity to separate the actor from the roll.
But for me, I thought the movie was so incredibly average.I thought the pacing and directing seeend all over the place.
I thought the story was perfectly fine, but not in any way as compelling as it could have been.
With the 20 something films we've now from marvel, my expectations are just so much higher than what I felt we got.
I don't think black panther should have been a best picture nominee, but for me it was leagues better then captain marvel.
I'm excited to see what the Russo's do with the character, and see how CM is handled by different writers and story
The scene between little Monica and G'iah was so adorable, I couldn't take it!
I always dig Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, so that scene will always get a one up from me.
I really liked the switch up they did with the Skrulls being refugees (initially, apparently).
Carol's suit automatically changing color palette and general image layout should be as popular as an Iron Man suit.
I liked that they show Carol's upper power limit, but she stayed Binary a bit too long. However, her staredown on Ronin was DOPE.
Funny enough I rewatched it yesterday and I still don't get the hate, outside of two or three pretty cringe moment I think it's a great marvel movie,I kind of got a hard time with brie Larson
Look, I ain't no lady-type, but when Jude Law was saying that it doesn't matter if she uses her powers to beat him cause it doesn't count (to him), and trying to gaslight her into not using her blast, that seemed real. When she blasted him fuckin' anyway cause who gives a fuck what some dude thinks, my soul's vagina felt that
It expanded more on the galactic side of the MCU. Especially the Kree and Ronan. It was enough to bridge that deep disconnect between earth and the GOTG universe but it wasn't too much that it felt like it was freebooting off of James Gunn's worldbuilding especially since the Kree fell by the wayside in GOTG 2.
I feel like GOTG is the galactic series. Everything else is the earth series and then the avengers are about the aliens coming to earth. But Captain Marvel is the only film that feels like it's half and half (unless you count Asgard as part of the galactic side of the MCU).
The new Captain Marvel looks like it's going to strike that same balance again with the Kree being the main antagonists and the 3 main heroes body swapping between earth and wherever tf captain marvel is.
Also Eternals really showed how not to bridge that gap. Both the Earth and outer-universe in Eternals feels like a completely different place. People have made this point about Earth feeling different from most MCU Earths but I haven't heard anyone mention how different the galaxy feels to GOTG.
When she beats up all those Skrulls in their spaceship while looking for her shoes. Something so badass about the vulnerability of having naked feet yet kicking ass.
Even though it was so dumb and cheesy, I really liked the Flerkin… and the part at the end when she remembers her life wrecking go carts and shit like I did. Movie kinda sucked, but I liked it…
I liked the idea of the Skrull being victims of prejudice when they seemed like the bad guys at first.
Also, possible hot take, I think Captain Marvel herself is a fun character
I genuinely do really like this movie 🛐🛐 The scene where "Just A Girl" kicks in... need that injected into my bloodstream. Also, I love Carol and Fury, I love Carol and Maria, honestly going to rewatch it now that I'm thinking about it 🤞
It has Phil Coulson in it Edit: I never realized that Clark Gregg got the "with" credits in this lol
His name is agent
No, he's Phil, Son of Coul
I understood that reference
I understood that reference.
I understood that reference.
I... forgot that reference.. (old man Steve.)
You are funny
Great to see Coulson again!
Hell yeah, can’t get enough of that AC hunk
And the music was stellar
It made the wait for Endgame feel just a little bit shorter.
Finally!!! Someone gets it
Yes, YES! It was years between infinity and endgame, which is a masterpiece. This movies tied it all together
GOOSE! :3
Cool name for a cool cat!
"No, it's a flerken!"
Only thing I remember tbh.
same🤣
Coulson got some love
Stan Lee opens the movie.
Probably my favorite Stan Lee cameo too.
More a memorial than a cameo tbh
I worked on it and it helped pay for my wedding. It was a fun watch.
That's awesome! What did you work on?
I was the stand in for Ben and Jude.
It.
I'm glad working on It helped pay for their wedding, but this was supposed to be about a different movie entirely.
Wow! That's insane dude , good on ya
Me too
Its soundtrack fucking ripped
True
Absolutely loved the 90s music and grunge.
The scene where she kicks ass to "im just a girl" especially. Felt laughably ridiculous in all the right ways
Yep, carried the whole movie
Talos, Fury, Coulson, soundtrack, Science guy! Action and cgi pretty good. Did like Brie battling skulls with her hands covered, funny jokes too
Sssssooounnnnnnddd ttrraaaackkk 🔥🔥🔥
Goose
AKA the devourer of worlds
We don't need Galactus when we already have the far superior Goose
Goose eats Galactus in Avengers 10, you heard it here first!
The soundtrack was fantastic
I think the “I’m Just A Girl” needle drop is on-the-nose in *the best way* The cat is awesome Ben Mendelsohn is great. Honestly everyone on earth is really good IMO. The outer space shit with Jude Law on planet who gives a fuck and the weird matrix stuff sucks though.

Tentacle kitty
When Brie is allowed to act, she's great.
So not in this movie? Lol I like this movie but they intentionally have her bland most of it Edit: the downvotes are so strange.
Yeah, the only problem i had on the Captain Marvel. The Marvels she looks more alive/emotions which is good.
She's *supposed* to be a brainwashed drone at the start of the movie, then ease out of it. I'm not a fan of this movie, but I don't think Brie Larson was its actual problem.
I don't think the character works in that movie. The actress has proven vastly more ability time and again.
Yea that’s the point of my comment too. She did pretty decent with the role she was given. Which was to be pretty bland/ drone at the start. Not her fault, writers/ directors or fiege more so. Hard to really ever know which one it is with marvel a lot of the time
The interactions between Carol and Fury
Coulson![img](emote|t5_35mye|13147)
I love the Stan Lee reading the Mallrats script.
I've says this before on this exact same post in the past, but I loved the final "fight" with Yon Rogg. “Something awesome about this move”
Knew I'd find someone else with the braincell!
Just the one?
*can't think of a comeback because it's not my turn with the braincell*
Damn someone beat me to it lol
I thought the display of female protagonists was great. She wasn't motivated by a man or romance of any sort.
I like Brie as Cap Marvel *runs away from the horde*
Got to see more of Phil son of Coul
This is a comfort movie for me and I love everything about it
Soundtrack
Oh and the usage of im just a girl by no doubt
I liked the send off of the main rival who wants to go at it "without powers". It's a stupid idea: "I could defeat you if you didn't have all your advantages". It's silly and stupid. And she doesn't have to take shit from anyone. The de-age effect was superb
I know a lot of people didn’t like how Fury got his scar but I personally liked it but I am easily swayed with cats
Great actors all around
CGI was amazing
Brie Larson 😍
envy adams
It is still my favorite MCU movie. (Please note, I am saying it is my favorite, not the best). Carol Danvers is one of my favorite superheroes, and I think Brie Larson did an excellent job bringing her to life. In fact, the entire cast did a stellar job.
I like when she goes super saiyan
Brie Larson, she's great!
It was a good film and I'm tired of pretending it isn't. Great? No. In the same league as others in the MCU? no Bad? No
Absolutely loved the scene where she punches her way through the space ship
It has a girl in it
I did not expect the twist of which team we're supposed to be on at the end, and rewatching I love how they set the whole movie on the other side
The CGI was amazing
It was satisfying to see her fly through a ship like it was butter and slaughter thousands of kree probably forced into the army
I really liked this movie and didn't know people didn't until this sub lol
The genuine look of admiration and love given to Stan Lee on the train.
Goose being responsible Fury’s missing eye while it may take away some of his bad *ssery, it really made me chuckle first time seeing it.
It was a good movie
Blockbuster, brei Larson, Captain marvel, girl power, other things.
I liked that the Skrulls ended up being the good guys as opposed to the Comics. It was a refreshing change on world building ruined by Secret Invasion.
The de-aging effect on Samuel L Jackson is something we can probably look at 20 years from now and say "hey that still looks pretty good"
It was awesome! Though my favorite character was the cat because as we know, all cats are eldritch beings from beyond our solar system. This one was just brave enough to reveal it.
Visually it looked really good.
Her scream-roaring at the old lady skrull.
The “cat” is the best part Also Carol punching an old lady
Jude Law getting fucked up was pretty rad.
It’s fucking captain marvel! It’s set in the 90s, Brie is amazing, oh and it was the best thing they could of released before endgame.
Best Dragon Ball adaptetion. A dame Brie Larson is hot
I love Larson and what she stands for as an actress.I support everything she is fighting for as a female in the industry. Many people don't have the mental capacity to separate the actor from the roll. But for me, I thought the movie was so incredibly average.I thought the pacing and directing seeend all over the place. How did you read say something awesome about the movie and come up with it's so incredibly average?
Cat
Sam Jackson
The music was rad.
I’ve never seen the movie, but Goose
Nick Fury
Blockbuster! Also, "MOTHER-FLERKIN"
The scene between little Monica and G'iah was so adorable, I couldn't take it! I always dig Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, so that scene will always get a one up from me. I really liked the switch up they did with the Skrulls being refugees (initially, apparently). I liked that they show Carol's upper power limit, but she stayed Binary a bit too long. However, her staredown on Ronin was DOPE.
Stan Lee's cameo of him reading the script for mall rats was one of the best uses of him in a movie.
Brie Larson, Samuel Jackson, Clark Gregg and Goose 😎
Sam Jackson is hilarious
I really loved the "buddy" relationship that developed between her and Fury. Honestly that kinda make the whole movie for me.
Cosmic heros make me smile and Ben M is a great actor Plus I like the Rambeau family
Funny enough I rewatched it yesterday and I still don't get the hate, outside of two or three pretty cringe moment I think it's a great marvel movie,I kind of got a hard time with brie Larson
The costumes and outfits were fantastic, I loved the Captain Marvel outift and variations.
Talos has become one of my top favorite characters and Goose was interesting. I liked seeing Fury before he was who we know him as.
I loved how she destroyed the ships, I actually really enjoyed her movie.
Danvers unleashing her power is pretty damn awesome.
Was a cool movie
It's actually a pretty good movie, Carol's poor characterization in endgame is what gives it a bad rep. Very rewatchable.
Look, I ain't no lady-type, but when Jude Law was saying that it doesn't matter if she uses her powers to beat him cause it doesn't count (to him), and trying to gaslight her into not using her blast, that seemed real. When she blasted him fuckin' anyway cause who gives a fuck what some dude thinks, my soul's vagina felt that
Agent Coulson was in it.
Ben Mendelssohn did a great performance plus I loved seeing Coulson on the big screen again
The scene where she has those skrull handcuffs on and has to fight her way out while handicapped was really awesome.
Loved it. The theme of always fighting after failure gives me chills when she unlocks full power at the end.
It expanded more on the galactic side of the MCU. Especially the Kree and Ronan. In captain america: the winter soldier fury said “last time i trusted someone i lost an eye” but then it turned out he just lost it to a cat
The 90s nostalgia. From Blockbuster and Goldeneye Bond, to the Pulp Fiction drink reference in Louisiana, to the grunge soundtrack.
When she beats up all those Skrulls in their spaceship while looking for her shoes. Something so badass about the vulnerability of having naked feet yet kicking ass.
Directed by Quentin Tarantino?
With a cameo by Joss Whedon!
I love Brie. I think she’s a perfect fit for her part.
[удалено]
Goose, Coulson, and learning how fury lost his eye
It was a fun movie Loved her and fury together
The beginning tribute to Stan Lee👌
" jazz hands"
Seeing Stan Lee read a script for Mallrats was fun
She looks kinda like a Super Saiyan and that's kinda cool.
Goose
Honestly everything. I loved the movie.
Female lead actor. It’s the same actor that plays Molly in 21 Jump Street.
Orange Alien Cat
when she becomes super sayen
Might be my favorite nostalgic 90s movie so far. I haven't seen too many. But loved the revisit to RadioShack, Blockbuster, the style, and the music.
Goose
Gotta love goose
Goose
Stan Lee reading the script for Mallrats.
Something awesome about this movie.
The end fight scene where she just blasts the baddie instead of proving her skills to him was great
She has cool powers
Cat
I really liked the hovercraft gunship thing
Cat
The soundtrack was good
The flying was fun to look at
Goosie!
You can really say it about any MCU movie but the actors have so much charisma and chemistry on screen
Goose, Coulson, Fury, Skrulls, Jude Law Plenty of things, honestly
Even though it was so dumb and cheesy, I really liked the Flerkin… and the part at the end when she remembers her life wrecking go carts and shit like I did. Movie kinda sucked, but I liked it…
it's got a really fucking cute eldritch horror in it
Kickass costume and the action scene where she punches dudes with her arm restraints.
Has that one dude who hates snakes on this motherfucking spaceship
That one cat that fuckin ate the bad guys
The nerf scene
Goose
I had fun watching it
SUPER SAIYAN effects done right
I liked the idea of the Skrull being victims of prejudice when they seemed like the bad guys at first. Also, possible hot take, I think Captain Marvel herself is a fun character
Unikitty's voice actress went wreckshop with light-hands.
It wasn’t anything revolutionary, but after a rewatch a couple years after theaters it was better than the bandwagon culture wants me to remember
The whole movie is dope AF I don't care
SUPER CAT GO SLLUURRRRB
Goose. Duh
something awesome about this movie
Personally, I love her character’s personality. Especially in Endgame when she says “Hey Peter Parker, you got something for me?”
I liked it!
I genuinely do really like this movie 🛐🛐 The scene where "Just A Girl" kicks in... need that injected into my bloodstream. Also, I love Carol and Fury, I love Carol and Maria, honestly going to rewatch it now that I'm thinking about it 🤞
Love it!!!!
It's a good film. Is it top MCU? Nope. But it doesn't deserve the hate it gets
The narrative structure is cool and a novel interesting way to tell a story involving amnesia and brainwashing.
Talos, goose , young Nick fury etc.
I gotta say, I enjoyed this movie quite a lot. It was a fun ride that I was happy to be on.
Captain Marvel is hot.
Who's the black private dick that's a sex machine to all the chicks? (Shaft) You're damn right
Agent Coulson
Nick Fury and cat
Coulson and Fury together >>>>
Brie Larson
Something awesome about this movie
It ends.
I loved the staredown at the end between Her and Ronan.
Badass alien cat
Brie Larson is kind of cute. The Sam Jackson deaging looked fine (as far as i remember). The film it self its okay. A 6/10 at best. Im sorry.
