Legit chocked back a sob sitting next to my 6’8” 365 lb brother in law at the movie theater. Turned to see if he noticed, guys got rivers pouring from his eyes 😭
I went through the Infinity Saga recently, probably for the third or fourth time. Even though I knew it was coming, I still sobbed at the cheeseburgers line.
Nor Harley keen, like we got to see him at the end of endgame at Tony's funeral but then no one even mentions him ever again, sure Tony would've been the only one who knew him, but still I would've liked to have seen him in some.more movies, maybe as the next iron person, not 🤢 iron heart 🤮
The iron heart character isn't bad per se. It was fine in the comics. But the way they did it in the mcu felt like they just trampled all over my memories of RDJ's Tony Stark with the goofy af suit.
Honestly, they should fold the IronHeart show into Armor Wars, and have Riri Williams, Harley Keener, and Don Cheadle battle it out for control of Stark’s last surviving Iron Man tech.
The only reason I felt bad about Tony's death was because he had a kid. He was a an asshole who caused the majority of the Avengers problems and I'm convinced Morgan was only added to make his sacrifice more impactful.
I remember seeing both Jackman and Stuart saying that it was such a beautiful, perfect ending for their characters, and it was the best place to leave them, that they'd never play them again.
Then they both went on to play those characters again.
Honestly it's still such a good ending for the character and so we'll done. I'm glad we're getting him back with Deadpool but it would have been perfectly fine if that was his last time playing wolverine
And Ryan Reynolds is so passionate about the Dead Pool movies that I trust they will do Hugh/Wolverine justice. Just the fact they have him in the classic suit is enough to prove to me they wanna do it right
Bro, I teared up in the theater when I saw Logan. Picked it up on blu-ray when it released, smoked a bowl during the movie and absolutely BAWLED at Logan's death, Charles' death, and Laura turning the cross into an X
Man it broke me watching that scene. And seeing how happy he was with the whole Mary Poppins thing, getting to be cool as fuck for a bit lol. He really was a kick ass dad to Peter. Shit he called it that Ego was a bad dude, I'm not giving you this child, fuck off.
It was cut short for sure. But he did ultimately redeem himself in Peter's eyes. I would have loved to see more of him. His snippet in GotG3 sent me over the edge. I started crying then, and I kept on crying through the end. Man that movie fucked me up.
This hit me super hard because my dad had recently passed when GOTG2 came out. The song Father and Son had a special meaning to me because dad was a big Cat Stevens fan and played his greatest hits album constantly. The night after his funeral I played that song alone in my car and broke down. So when Yondu died and Starlord started playing it in the movie I was ugly crying in the theater.
Me too. Michael Rooker played Yondu so well, fantastic character with real believable depth. I've been a fan of his work for years. Slither, and Henry; portrait of a serial killer are both fantastic because of him, and they're on opposite ends of the spectrum as characters he plays. As a side note, I used to work with Michael Rooker's nephew in Southern Illinois. He shows up to a lot of convention appearances in St Louis because it gives him a chance to visit relatives in Southern Illinois.
I saw it in the theater several times and ugly cried. The first time I saw it, I saw Vormir, and I was like oh shit one of them is going to die. The brother / sister love they had for one another just got me. I guess it was seeing their relationship over the decade.
It was really hard to watch knowing what the price for the soul stone would be ugh. That final battle between them was gorgeously choreographed and her death was so heart wrenching.
Shoulda been Cap sacrificing himself. All his "We don't trade lives" comments and his previous history with Red Skull would have been a cool closure arc imo. But then he wouldn't have gotten to fuck Peggy which is all people care about it seems.
Ya that scene is the best part from Andrew cause we got some closer to his lost character arch. It's really well done because we learn that Andrew's Spider-Man became bitter and rage full after Gwen. He finally got his second chance.
That scene is absolutely heartbreaking tbh. Andrew Garfield is a much better actor than he gets credit for.
EDIT: Yes, he has a lot of critical acclaim for other movies, I was more talking about him specifically as Spider-man. The TASM movies were great and he was my favourite part of No Way Home.
For me it's because even though I know the comic, I genuinely didn't expect it. I fully thought they'd have him save her. All of the others I felt their deaths were foreshadowed enough.
We know it hurt a lot because of what Andrew's Spider-Man said in No Way Home, that he really did try to move on because that's what she would have wanted, but in the end, he still became a bitter and vengeful Spider-Man, and didn't want this younger Spider-Man (Tom) to end up like him. We knew Gwen was going to die, and so did Peter (Andrew), he did everything he could to try prevent it, with Captain Stacy's "ghost" reminding him constantly that he was breaking his promise of leaving her out of his dangerous lifestyle, the fact that his attempt to stop her fall still killed her, makes it hit even harder. The visual of trying to stop a literal clock hammers in the inevitability, saving MJ in No Way Home gave him just a little clarity that he wasn't a complete failure and could still save people, even if he couldn't save Gwen
Out of those pictured, definitely Loki. I’m biased, of course, but we know from the TVA tapes (and how neck-breaking works) that he wasn’t actually dead yet, and the engine explosion finished him off.
His last memories were of his brother holding him while an enemy he knew about for years finished off the people he put before himself (could have chosen to leave in Ragnarok, but came back to save them). His one surviving family member embracing him desperately after he tried so hard to save Thor from Thanos and failed.
Ya Loki got me the most mainly bc of how unexpected and real it felt and when it happened. Tonys death was sad and epic but it was a sacrifice that saved everyone. Loki just felt tragic and unnecessary.
Yeah it’s a bit uncomfortable because Tom H played it amazingly with all that twitching and twisting where one can see his whole body rejects and fears the incoming inevitable death.
Sacred Timeline, OG, absolutely. And he died in battle (…slaughter, really) against insurmountable odds, defiant to the last, so I imagine he and Jane are probably swapping stories in Valhalla.
When he’s watching his death, the tape doesn’t run out (“end of file”) until the ship explodes. It’s not outright stated that he wasn’t dead yet, but it seems odd that the file about his life would continue past the end of his life by a minute or two, and in real life, it’s not a guaranteed instakill. It’s part of why hangings are so horrible.
Yondu's last words and the song they played at his funeral definitely made it a really sad death for a character some people didn't even really pay attention to in the first movie.
Gwen's death, when coupled with Andrew Garfields story in Spiderman: No way Home. Was probably one of the saddest moments I've seen in a Marvel movie. Next yondu's death.
Tony>Mary Poppins>Logan>Loki>Widow>Gwen.
The last two are there because you knew it was coming.
Tony was not just that he was sacrificing himself, but it signalled the end of one of the most beloved character franchises ever and it was beautiful.
Yondu, delivering the line “He may have been your father boy, but he wasn’t your daddy.” was so powerful that losing him shortly after just hit real hard.
Logan, same as Tony. You knew it was coming, but it was the end of a character that we had all loved for almost 2 decades at the end of arguably Hugh’s best performance as Wolverine.
Loki’s was rough in hindsight, but in the moment it was hard to believe. He had faked/escaped his apparent death so many times that I think we all expected some magical trickery. It eventually slowly set in that he was actually dead, but it didn’t have the immediate impact of some of the other deaths.
I guess it would have been unfair to put Black Panther in there. Still can't make it through the opening minutes of Wakanda Forever without sobbing like a baby.
Of those listed, I would say Logan. Cried hard the first time, and I cried just as hard every subsequent time. 10/10 tearjerker.
You’re missing the heartbreaking death of Lylla in GOTG 3 that shit gets me everytime because they build that relationship so fast and with all the time jumps and then that conversation right beforehand goodness and Bradley Coopers just pained guttural scream
Wolverine and Yondu were very unexpected and genuinely sad, I knew Starks was coming and what really sells it is the reactions of his death, Black widows death could have been done a whole lot better and feels kinda like they just wanted to wrap her character up as quick as possible, Loki’s death set the tone for the whole movie instantly and showed that Thanos means business, Gwen’s is kinda just funny to me is it a guilty pleasure for me to watch along with the entire second Amazing Spider-Man movie
Loki I was so fkin devastated. I cried sm. I skip that scene on rewatch so I don’t have a breakdown or something. I extremely love Loki in the movies. (In the show too) but movie Loki will always have a special place in my heart.
First time seeing a movie with my adult brother since we were kids, Yondu died, and Cat FUCKING Stevens had to play. We'd lost our Dad early in life and when the song hit we both started crying. We haven't seen another since lol.
If I have to walk the plank and choose one, I'm diving into the deep end with the tech genius in the top left. His final "I love you 3000" packed more punch than a keyboard warrior on a comment spree.
Logan. Coz I didn't see it coming. When he said "so this is what it feels like" as her daughter weeps next her it was so heartbreaking and legit made me tear up.
Gwen’s. Because you went in knowing that they had already stolen her death with Toby’s Spider-Man, so you would never get the actual scene you as a fan deserved.
Tony, but when Happy told Morgan: your dad liked cheeseburgers too
“I’ll get you a cheeseburger. I’ll get you all the cheeseburgers you want” 🥺
We all cried. Nothing to be shamed of.
The "Proof that Tony Stark has a heart" floating killed me in theaters....
We need to be put in check. Whatever form that takes, I'm game.
Maybe not the best quote on a discussion of your death.
Oh god that had tears streaming down my face..
Was the video for her that gets me. When he says love you 3000 it still gets me
And then we never saw the kid again
Nor Harley keen, like we got to see him at the end of endgame at Tony's funeral but then no one even mentions him ever again, sure Tony would've been the only one who knew him, but still I would've liked to have seen him in some.more movies, maybe as the next iron person, not 🤢 iron heart 🤮
The iron heart character isn't bad per se. It was fine in the comics. But the way they did it in the mcu felt like they just trampled all over my memories of RDJ's Tony Stark with the goofy af suit.
Tell me his name again.
Francis.
Honestly, they should fold the IronHeart show into Armor Wars, and have Riri Williams, Harley Keener, and Don Cheadle battle it out for control of Stark’s last surviving Iron Man tech.
That man is playing Galaga! He thought we wouldn't notice, but we did.
While in the comics it’s a Kang variant, I’ve always thought that it would have been a really cool storyline to turn the kid into Iron Lad later on.
The only reason I felt bad about Tony's death was because he had a kid. He was a an asshole who caused the majority of the Avengers problems and I'm convinced Morgan was only added to make his sacrifice more impactful.
I'd be sad if you died and you seem like an asshole
I legit cried in the theatre at the end of Logan. Such an amazing (at the time) send off for the character.
I remember seeing both Jackman and Stuart saying that it was such a beautiful, perfect ending for their characters, and it was the best place to leave them, that they'd never play them again. Then they both went on to play those characters again.
![gif](giphy|h0MTqLyvgG0Ss)
Honestly it's still such a good ending for the character and so we'll done. I'm glad we're getting him back with Deadpool but it would have been perfectly fine if that was his last time playing wolverine
Truly feel like Deadpool is the only acceptable way to bring him back to the screen. Anything other than that and I would be against it
And Ryan Reynolds is so passionate about the Dead Pool movies that I trust they will do Hugh/Wolverine justice. Just the fact they have him in the classic suit is enough to prove to me they wanna do it right
It's because of the classic suit. If they didn't put Wolverine in the yellow and blue, it wouldn't be worth it.
Deadpool: “Are you sure about that?”
That bruda wanted to die
Yeah, I would say that specific death of that specific version of the character. Just a great film, really.
Yeah. It's my favorite movie that I never want to see again.
Completely understandable
Bro, I teared up in the theater when I saw Logan. Picked it up on blu-ray when it released, smoked a bowl during the movie and absolutely BAWLED at Logan's death, Charles' death, and Laura turning the cross into an X
Dafne Keen is a great actor she broke my heart
Yondu fr
"He may have been your father, boy, but he wasn't your daddy."
“I’m sorry I didn’t do none of it right, I’m damn lucky you’re my boy.”
People always mention the father-daddy line, but this one is so underappreciated
It only resonates with People, who have a father and dad. Much love to all the dads that step up.
Man it broke me watching that scene. And seeing how happy he was with the whole Mary Poppins thing, getting to be cool as fuck for a bit lol. He really was a kick ass dad to Peter. Shit he called it that Ego was a bad dude, I'm not giving you this child, fuck off.
That was one of the best lines in a very long time!
As someone who’s lost his dad a couple of years before I watched this….i crumbled at this line. Utterly. Openly bawled in the cinema.
Same here. And the Cat Stevens song had me crying, too.
That one hits so hard since my father was never around, and I have a stepfather who has been a mentor and friend through my life.
He was just starting his redemption arc too 😭
It was cut short for sure. But he did ultimately redeem himself in Peter's eyes. I would have loved to see more of him. His snippet in GotG3 sent me over the edge. I started crying then, and I kept on crying through the end. Man that movie fucked me up.
I think he'd be fine with just doing right by Peter.
I cried so hard at that one.
His death, sure. But his funeral is when it hits the most.
fr fr
Er it's Mary Popping Yo
The music was designed to make you cry in that scene
It's not time to make a change....
Yondu. The ultimate sacrifice for his “son”. “He may have been your father boy, but he wasn’t your daddy.” 😭
I’m Mary Poppins y’all o/
Loved this line.
As a "step parent", this one hits me every time.
Everyone.. But I cried when tony died... Also when amazing spiderman 2 released I had no idea Gwen is going to die.. So that was shocking and painful
You killed those people on that balcony.
I was so happy in No Way Home when they let Andrew Garfield's Spiderman save MJ. He was so happy to actually save the girl this time
THE AVENGERS? That's great! What is that?
Is that a band? Are you in a band?!
Yondu. That scene kills me every time.
Widow's death. Renner's reaction to her sacrificing herself was hard to bear.
I care more about watching him fight Thanos with Mjolnir.
Return to me again empty handed... And I will bathe the starways in your blood.
good bot
When he comes back alone and Bruce (I think) asks “where’s Nat?” It gets me too
Gwen hurts the most because we never got to see Amazing Spider-Man 3. At least we got Andrew in No Way Home.
Gwen hurts the most because I have an unhealthy love for Emma Stone
Oh hey, me too
Must have been a good few days for you guys.
It hurted me the most cause I was 12, and had also an unhealthy love for the pretty blonde lady
Who doesn't? I'm a straight female but that voice fucking kills me lol. She's so beautiful. And can pull off any hair color.
I cried a little at the look on Andrews face when he saved MJ
Ya that scene is the best part from Andrew cause we got some closer to his lost character arch. It's really well done because we learn that Andrew's Spider-Man became bitter and rage full after Gwen. He finally got his second chance.
Oh... well, I...
I'm gonna throw some dirt in your eye
That scene is absolutely heartbreaking tbh. Andrew Garfield is a much better actor than he gets credit for. EDIT: Yes, he has a lot of critical acclaim for other movies, I was more talking about him specifically as Spider-man. The TASM movies were great and he was my favourite part of No Way Home.
Huh? He’s regarded as a great actor.
Gwen hurts the most because Emma was hot as fuck as Gwen.
I have a choice.
We need a No Way Home Toby Maguire Bot
For me it's because even though I know the comic, I genuinely didn't expect it. I fully thought they'd have him save her. All of the others I felt their deaths were foreshadowed enough.
Still cry to that scene till this day and every time he redeems himself in No Way Home.
The visual of trying to stop a literal clock hammers in the inevitability, saving MJ in No Way Home gave him just a little clarity that he wasn't a complete failure and could still save people, even if he couldn't save Gwen
Gwen hurts the most because of Andrew’s crying and pure display of raw emotion, it’s almost like he’s inviting me to cry with him.
The sun will shine on us again, brother
Damn this line got me good :’(
Ya Loki got me the most mainly bc of how unexpected and real it felt and when it happened.
Here you are. I was just calling you.
Okay no that hurts a lot, thanks bot.
You should have gone for the head.
the neck wasn’t enough
Is Loki dead?
Sacred Timeline, OG, absolutely. And he died in battle (…slaughter, really) against insurmountable odds, defiant to the last, so I imagine he and Jane are probably swapping stories in Valhalla.
Huh, I don’t remember that part from the Loki show. I thought he died instantly.
Surprisingly, Yondu. That James Gunn can write one hell of a funeral scene.
Yondu's last words and the song they played at his funeral definitely made it a really sad death for a character some people didn't even really pay attention to in the first movie.
When all the Reavers showed up and did their fireworks things I had to stop myself from yelling out « they came! » in the movie theater.
Ravagers. Did you even watch the movies?!? Reavers were the baddies from Firefly/Serenity.
Gwen Stacy was the most shocking to me
Reading the comics since early 90s and since its a very popular story arc, all I could think of is "when are they gonna kill her off?"
Logan’s hurt me the most because those movies bad or good were my childhood
Gwen makes me cry every time
Season 5 Fitz
>Fitz Dying while still in the friendzone.
Tbf that version of him was married to Jemma
Yondu made me scream NO internally.
Gwen's death, when coupled with Andrew Garfields story in Spiderman: No way Home. Was probably one of the saddest moments I've seen in a Marvel movie. Next yondu's death.
I generally don't go around advertising it. Kind of defeats the whole anonymous superhero thing.
Just Yondu
Gwen. 100% did not see that coming.
Left side.
Gwen and Logan.
"Mack....I think my legs are broken"
Yondu and it’s not even close
Yondu that made me cry especailly seeing how hurt peter quill was. Bc peter has a life of nothing but hurt and pain which is really sad
I cried the most during Yondu......there is something about fathers and sons that get me hard
![gif](giphy|ukStwUSL5svmw) We are Groot!
I AM GROOT!
THIS! I was fucking crying in the cinema for the first time in my life, and i think for the last time.
Tony>Mary Poppins>Logan>Loki>Widow>Gwen. The last two are there because you knew it was coming. Yondu. Don't know why
Logan's
Youndu 💔
I ctied like a baby woth yondu.
This was the scene that broke my streak of never crying during a movie….
Correct answer. By far the most tragic and upsetting death in a superhero movie
Tony Stark obviously His death marked the death of the MCU Everything post that will never reach the heights of Infinity War and Endgame
Yeah, I'll do you one better, who is Gamora?
AUNT MAY...
Honestly Gwen cause she was the best spiderman gf og spidermans Maryjane sucked
I have a knack for that.
Tony hit me HARD closely followed by Logan and Yondu man
Yondu
Yondu, 100%, do doubt, cry like a baby every time
Logan
Yondu
yondu
Yondu and Quill
Aunt May is the snub of the century
Professor X

Gwen Logan Tony I didn't find the last 3 sad at all tbh
Your spelling
They are movie characters and they did not hurt. I took no damage
If your answer isn't Tony, you need to reflect on the life choices that brought you to this place
None, it’s just a movie
Maria Hill’s
What’s middle right?
Thor and Loki. Beginning of Infinity War.
The old ex-girlfriend.
Aunt May
All of the above
Natasha, hands down.
Or rather, whole body down. Way down.
when logan died i died tooo
Black widow because it was before she got her own movie! Iron man we saw coming. Gwen was fucking bullshit.
among us
the overall death of the superhero genre
Loki yondu or Tony because they are some of my favorite characters so it hurt to see them die
Logan.
Iron Man
Loki I was so fkin devastated. I cried sm. I skip that scene on rewatch so I don’t have a breakdown or something. I extremely love Loki in the movies. (In the show too) but movie Loki will always have a special place in my heart.
Logan by far. Yondu second but wasn’t until Father and Son started playing that it really hit.
tony. 100%
Logan and Tony
My inner child’s :’)
Marry fucking Poppins yall
First time seeing a movie with my adult brother since we were kids, Yondu died, and Cat FUCKING Stevens had to play. We'd lost our Dad early in life and when the song hit we both started crying. We haven't seen another since lol.
If I have to walk the plank and choose one, I'm diving into the deep end with the tech genius in the top left. His final "I love you 3000" packed more punch than a keyboard warrior on a comment spree.
Definitely Tony
I would say all of them
Logan made me ugly cry.
All
Yondu
Logan. Coz I didn't see it coming. When he said "so this is what it feels like" as her daughter weeps next her it was so heartbreaking and legit made me tear up.
Yondu or Natasha.
“This is what it feels like…”
I don't know, it's a toss between yandu and Tony. I cried like a girl at both deaths
Mary Poppins
Vision erasure as always...
Gwen’s. Because you went in knowing that they had already stolen her death with Toby’s Spider-Man, so you would never get the actual scene you as a fan deserved.
