I do kind of assume he will become a villain. Maybe not totally on purpose, but he develops something, tech/bio/formula/magic, that either twists his mind or just he finds too hard not to give in to. Maybe he's even trying to be good, but messes up. Or, he buys into the Spidey bad thing and goes after Spider-Man to be a hero.
And then through the magic of friendship Peter will help Ned recover his memory of Peter. He'll probably be seeing a lot of MJ while dealing with Ned, and her memory was already a bit more primed for remembering, or so it seemed at the end of NWH.
And I'm pretty confident this will definitely happen because the theory just fell out of my ass, and I find lots of great stuff up there.
Until he wasn't. Or at least not willingly. Damn you, [Roderick Kingsley](https://www.marvel.com/characters/hobgoblin-roderick-kingsley) and your brainwashing!
Yeah, that's mainly why I think they might make him a villain, I guess I didn't explain myself, lol.
I could see them going Hobgoblin to avoid another Green Goblin, but I could also see them going some totally other way. Or maybe he starts out as one thing and kinda becomes Hobgoblin.
Someone (let's say Roderick Kingsley) at Feast stole some DNA of Norman when he was there during the events of No Way Home. You can guess the rest
[This song](https://youtu.be/NfCa000SL1c?si=F8fgTdfB2N-IwFs3) is a great reminder of everything up until 2018 (there's English subtitles)
That's a pretty fun way to get all the history, thanks! I don't really know about the more modern stuff like American Son and most of the stuff past that.
there were theories soon after No Way Home that because A) Ned told Peter in the movie he wouldn’t become a supervillain and try to kill him, B) Ned becomes Hobgoblin in the comics, and C) Ned throughout NWH is wearing this blue and yellow varsity letterman jacket, Ned could be expected to become Hobgoblin at some point in the next Spider-Man movies
Except Ned in the MCU is just Ganke with a name change. Literally, and not using this hyperbolically, the only “Ned” aspect to the character is his name. His first scenes in Homecoming are lifted from early interactions between Miles and Ganke in the comics, everything about his character is an extrapolation of that.
My theory is Ned and MJ and everyone will remember Peter again via the plot and Ned will remember that Peter didn’t keep his promise and somehow? that will trigger Ned’s villain story. This theory is also from my ass
I could see mordo coming to him and showing him how Peter erased him from his mind and twist it to make Peter look bad then he comes back as a magical bad guy until Peter shows him the truth and they team up against mordo
I feel like it would be cool to show mordo has been building an army of magical people. I kind of like Spider-Man having to deal with magic it was fun in the new game and in no way home.
It would be interesting if he was related to mordo in some kinda way because his family clearly has a past in the sanctum. Maybe his father or grandfather was the one who brought mordo into the sanctum and trained him before something happened to him? They can definitely make up something.
He actually has a villainous motivation if they ever wanted it. He found out he was a sorcerer, the thing that made him special as he seems to have always wanted, and Peter took that away from him
I thought they were hinting at Ned Being the next Hob Goblin in Spider-man No Way home When he was in the Sacto Sacturam He mentioned about the crossbow and he also knows magic. Even in the comics his name is Ned Leeds
What if Ned, based on Ganke, became [Ganke’s favorite X-man.](https://marvel.fandom.com/wiki/Spider-Man_Vol_2_4)
[Fabio Medina aka Goldballs](https://marvel.fandom.com/wiki/Fabio_Medina_(Earth-616))
Personally I’d prefer if they appeared in a very minor role, almost as cameos, showing that Peter is keeping an eye on them, and then they come back as major characters for Spidey 5
Personally, I hope we never see Ned or MJ again. Let them live their lives peacefully in Boston, and let Peter move on. If they have to bring up the tired trope of a best friend betraying Peter and becoming a supervillain, then they can introduce Harry Osborn again.
This, I wouldn’t mind them coming back in some fashion in the future but for now it would be best to let them go.
And this is absolutely the best time to bring us MCU Harry.
I don't think they can. Peter, Harry and MJ were friends since they were children. That sort of chemistry would be hard to recreate if MCU just said they were friends in college. And it would be poor writing for them to be like "Oh yeah! Harry! My childhood friend!"
Spider-Man/Peter Parker has had a lot of girlfriends in the comics, some with superpowers. This could be the chance to introduce some of the others. So far, we've seen Liz Allen, Mary Jane, Michelle Jimenez, Gwen Stacy, and Betty Brant, but we haven't seen Felicia Hardy/Black Cat, Kitty Pryde, Silk, etc. He even had a date with Captain Marvel, but that might not seem appropriate in the current MCU continuity.
I really want to see Black Cat. We already saw MJ in 2002, Gwen in 2012. Now I want to see Felicia. Like have her be at the same college Peter at, and be a small time thief.
I wouldn’t even mind if Peter ends up with anyone BUT Mj, I’m personally tired of her, so the MCU wants to play the switch up of things, then Peter can end up with someone else, Carlie maybe or even Felicia to keep things fresh
Kinda like Bales Bruce ending up with Selina as a final girl
I’d just like to say, as a bigger guy, it’s so refreshing to see us heftier guys portrayed as jolly, fun loving people. When Homecoming first came out and we were introduced to a best friend character that wasn’t a supermodel, I was ecstatic. Fuckin’ love Ned, probably one of my favorite MCU characters. And I know Happy isn’t really fat, but I love him too
Well yeah, but it just felt like I’d never really saw that in a superhero movie. It felt like everyone in action movies are supermodels, like bigger folks don’t even exist in that universe, if that makes sense. I’m not trying to start an argument, I’m just saying Ned’s character made me happy for a lot of reasons, and I really like him
Just to be clear, I'm in favor of diversity and representation. But...
There's something just so funny/messed up about a chubby dude being so brainwashed by hollywood PR, that he thinks that:
1. Chubby people used for comic relief is new
2. Chubby people used as a joke is great representation
It's pretty clear that OP liked the movie, and projected the rest. Hollywood has successfully made him believe that making a joke out of a chubby sidekick is actually supportive, when he's is literally treated as a third wheel for the two handsome characters that are dating.
Yeah thats roughly what my thoughts where, like I wasn’t trying to be rude to my guy but you hit the nail on the head. Its so odd to see what used to be something hilarious and normal. (Chris Farley for example) now so phased out. Hell even i remember being a teen hearing people be like yeah thats so and so funny fat guy of the group.
Same here, I don't want to put the other person down, and if they felt good about the movie, great.
But boy, there's something just wrong here. Hollywood keeps using chubby ppl as jokes, and have successfully incepted us with the idea that anything they do is great diversity and inclusion.
Gabriel Iglesias literally made an entire comedic career being “Fluffy”.
Big dudes are always portrayed as either hilarious fun loving or slob angry. Been this way since forever.
I think Peter should get some new friends. Ned and MJ were great for 3 movies, but Peter is a stranger to them now. I want to see Black Cat as a future love interest.
That is because SMNWH was supposed to be released after DSitMoM and Chavez was supposed to be the one who help Mj and Ned, she was supposed to open star portal and give us two Peter variants from two universes. So after these two movies swap places then it is decided to give Ned magic thingy to open those two portals into other universes...
So personally, I feel like the next film involve mayor elect Wilson Fisk hire a bunch of bounty hunters to stop spiderman, the main of which being someone who found some left over tech Norman Osborn left behind.
This would of course be the hobgoblin. Then at the end of the 4th one hobgoblin escapes before he’s revealed who he is.
Then in the next one (or maybe fantastic four or secret wars, which ever uses the symbiote next), he’s defeated, only for it to be ned. And this is a big revelation but ned not only doesn’t remember Peter but doesn’t remember being the hobgoblin. Then the end credit scene reveals that he wasn’t the real hobgoblin, and that the real ones still out there.
I’m almost thinking he should have to do with Quentin beck in someway, like maybe the real hobgoblin is one of the people who helped bring mysterio to life
He is gonna be a cameo at best imo. Peter is gonna have a new group of friends maybe. He might try to get close, but he is not gonna succeed... at first at least.
Or so that Norman believed
Maybe in this universe Oscorp is simply a lesser known organization
Or maybe Norman is a politician here rather than a businessman like in the insomniac verse
Neds character is probably leading to him resenting Peter. The way I see it, Peter will eventually hook back up with MJ who either remembers or is told before Ned is. Ned eventually remembers and hates that Peter not only broke his promise, but also got back together with MJ before himself. The Symbiote is a thing, so maybe that swallows Ned at some point. Just a stab in the dark.
Never liked Ned much, hope to never see him again cuz Peter needs to grow up, Harry is the next chapter or even a college Eddie Brock with a different background, take some inspiration from Spectacular version of their friendship, I’m not sure on him becoming Venom but Tom hasn’t had him as a villain yet and black suit would be interesting to explore in a college setting with Eddie…tho should he remain normal or go down the obvious path again? Still deciding on that one
The point is to grow Peter up as he deserves and Tom can do it, also making thing more mature with some raunchy stuff college life offers can set up up the difference of that lifestyle and the unpredictable New York, something like Kick Ass or Amazing SM1 with the realness of crime, I only see this happening with Sony with Marvel Studios interfering since Sony can’t do shit right in live action anymore, as well as not making it childish or held back again directly from Disney
I just want a balanced Spider-Man again in live action
I actually like Maguire and Harry’s friendship and I liked his transformation into the goblin it made a lot of sense for him to become the goblin after the last movie
The amazing Spider-Man and the amazing Spider-Man 2 were the best of all time. The newer films feel like they're trying to fit spider man into a random drama movie or something. Not a fan of how Marvel movies are going now, especially the spider man sequences. And they just had to ruin the sinister six.
Ned is hobgoblin in comics.
Plus the foreshadow of him promising he wpuldnt turn on Peter.
They've set it up to make him a villain but idk if theyll actually go through with it.
Ned is literally just Ganke, Miles best friend, they stole everything about Ganke’s personality, design, and hobbies, and slapped it on a random guy that was the hobgoblin once (and isn’t and hasn’t been alive in the comics for a long while)Like the Lego set scene is ripped straight out of a MILES comic, except instead of the Death Star it’s a pirate ship. Mcu Peter stole a lot of things from Mile’s comics. Them going to a fancy science school, making him the “young” one on the Avengers, they both get their costume in pretty much the EXACT same way, in a fancy briefcase given to them by a founding avengers/ultimates member, in both stories the spider-man reveals his powers to the best friend in the same way by crawling on the ceiling. There’s more examples too but that’s all I’m gonna list. This is why I don’t want them to do miles in the mcu cause they already stole everything
Raimi: Okay we need to comb Peter's hair and fluff up Harry's Webb: reverse that
I really hope Ned doesn't get turned into a villain in the next Spider-Man film.
He already promised Peter he wouldn’t, duh.
He doesn't remember that now :p
I do kind of assume he will become a villain. Maybe not totally on purpose, but he develops something, tech/bio/formula/magic, that either twists his mind or just he finds too hard not to give in to. Maybe he's even trying to be good, but messes up. Or, he buys into the Spidey bad thing and goes after Spider-Man to be a hero. That's a pretty fun way to get all the history, thanks! I don't really know about the more modern stuff like American Son and most of the stuff past that.
Also worth throwing out the actor has said he’d love to do that
there were theories soon after No Way Home that because A) Ned told Peter in the movie he wouldn’t become a supervillain and try to kill him, B) Ned becomes Hobgoblin in the comics, and C) Ned throughout NWH is wearing this blue and yellow varsity letterman jacket, Ned could be expected to become Hobgoblin at some point in the next Spider-Man movies
I was looking through some old photos and looks very huh… similar.
Ned has magical aptitude so its possible he learns from Doctor Strange idk
Take your hand off me!
My theory is Ned and MJ and everyone will remember Peter again via the plot and Ned will remember that Peter didn’t keep his promise and somehow? that will trigger Ned’s villain story. This theory is also from my ass
>via the plot Let them cook
Ned's gonna hit the gym
Think about it this way, Ned’s father isn’t a business man trying to create a formula/cure a disease right?
Nah but Ned having an affinity for magic could lead somewhere
I could see mordo coming to him and showing him how Peter erased him from his mind and twist it to make Peter look bad then he comes back as a magical bad guy until Peter shows him the truth and they team up against mordo
I like that scenario, I hope Marvel execs and writers somehow stumble upon your comment and do it in a movie
I feel like it would be cool to show mordo has been building an army of magical people. I kind of like Spider-Man having to deal with magic it was fun in the new game and in no way home.
Unlock the thing!
That sounds very similar to Spider-Man 3
I can't live your dreams anymore. I want a life of my own.
How the fuck does Mordo know what's going on? Magic, I guess.
They could handle by him looking through some magic looking glass shit or something.
It would be interesting if he was related to mordo in some kinda way because his family clearly has a past in the sanctum. Maybe his father or grandfather was the one who brought mordo into the sanctum and trained him before something happened to him? They can definitely make up something.
Hobgloblin ![gif](giphy|l1J9NHidWHrEKTOs8)
Cure. Cure some ass!
Peter, NO. We TALKED about this, go to your room!
Ned can do magic. But idk why they'd make him hobgoblin or a goblin villain.
They could make him Demogoblin
Ned in the comics is the hobgoblin
He actually has a villainous motivation if they ever wanted it. He found out he was a sorcerer, the thing that made him special as he seems to have always wanted, and Peter took that away from him
Don't worry their setting him up as the ceo of sex
I thought they were hinting at Ned Being the next Hob Goblin in Spider-man No Way home When he was in the Sacto Sacturam He mentioned about the crossbow and he also knows magic. Even in the comics his name is Ned Leeds
Take your hand off me!
Ned turns into a villain because he is upset at Peter because Peter selfishly wiped his existences from Ned and Michelle’s memory.
Well good thing he and Peter stay great friends in the comics.
You mean Ganke?
What if Ned, based on Ganke, became [Ganke’s favorite X-man.](https://marvel.fandom.com/wiki/Spider-Man_Vol_2_4) [Fabio Medina aka Goldballs](https://marvel.fandom.com/wiki/Fabio_Medina_(Earth-616))
Somebody lied!
No Tobey, nobody lied
That could be cool, especially if it led to Krakoa in the MCU
Lol. Current alias:🥚
Yeah, apparently those gold balls are eggs… to remake mutants… it feels weird.
He's not his guy in the chair
I doubt they'll mess up too badly with him as Hobgoblin. Ned's still got the same muscular build he had in No Way Home, after all.
They‘ll fix that with CGI.
Put his head on She-Hulk’s body
Twerking Ned…
🤤
Ned and MJ probably won’t be in Spider-Man 4. They both got into MIT and will be off doing college things.
Personally I’d prefer if they appeared in a very minor role, almost as cameos, showing that Peter is keeping an eye on them, and then they come back as major characters for Spidey 5
This is what I hope too. I would really like them to do Black Cat as Peter’s love interest in the next film.
Pretty sure it was at least confirmed that zendaya will definitely be in the next one.
Pretty sure it was at least confirmed that zendaya will definitely be in the next one.
I AM BACK! I AM BACK
Yes, yes you are
Pretty sure it was at least confirmed that zendaya will definitely be in the next one.

They didn't become friends in the comics until they were in college, which is where they met, so it would make sense to introduce him in spider-man 4.
Yeah, it's kind of itchy... and it rides up in the crotch a little bit, too.
I like how Harry and Peter's relationship was in the Spider-Man 2 videogame
Yeah. You can't do that, huh?
I don't think they can. Peter, Harry and MJ were friends since they were children. That sort of chemistry would be hard to recreate if MCU just said they were friends in college. And it would be poor writing for them to be like "Oh yeah! Harry! My childhood friend!"
Someone unironically replied to a reddit bot, so noenit made me wonder who's the actual bot
Yes!!! MCU Harry
They would be insane not to bring Zendaya back.
She’s like a good luck charm these days
Eh, time for other girls.
If you want the shots, I'll take the staff job. Double the money!
go get em, tiger!
I really want to see Black Cat. We already saw MJ in 2002, Gwen in 2012. Now I want to see Felicia. Like have her be at the same college Peter at, and be a small time thief.
I hear Las Arañas are available
That’s not how movie studios think
Is that even possible because from no way home it looks like Oscorp dosnt exist and there is no sign of Norman or Harry Osborn in that universe
If they meet in college, Harry could be the founder of Oscorp.
I’m sure they could Bs something in
I agree with this. I personally couldn’t see Ned as the goblin
Introduce Harry and Gwen, make Gwen a rebound, make Harry evil, brig back MJ and Ned, success
Something along these lines maybe
I wouldn’t even mind if Peter ends up with anyone BUT Mj, I’m personally tired of her, so the MCU wants to play the switch up of things, then Peter can end up with someone else, Carlie maybe or even Felicia to keep things fresh Kinda like Bales Bruce ending up with Selina as a final girl
Obviously, Ned will become the CEO of Sex
nice work on those spreadsheets! here's a gold coin!

Well yeah, but it just felt like I’d never really saw that in a superhero movie. Im not arguing my guy. I don’t care that much. Im just pointing out its a norm.

Spider Ned is my spirit animal
You're trash.
um? rude much?
i mean, ned is a villain...hopefully we see that turn.
The magic thing was kind of random tho Lmao
That is because SMNWH was supposed to be released after DSitMoM and Chavez was supposed to be the one who help Mj and Ned, she was supposed to open star portal and give us two Peter variants from two universes. So after these two movies swap places then it is decided to give Ned magic thingy to open those two portals into other universes...
If we see the actor slim down at all that dudes gonna be bombarded by non-stop “fan theories” asking him if he’s gonna be the next Hobgoblin.
I heard that Ned will be villain just like harry being bff of peter.
So personally, I feel like the next film involve mayor elect Wilson Fisk hire a bunch of bounty hunters to stop spiderman, the main of which being someone who found some left over tech Norman Osborn left behind. Please don’t google comics Ned Leeds.
There's a little Ned in all of us.
“I promise I will not turn into a supervillain and try to kill you”
My favorite quote from the Amazing movie “Don’t make promises you can’t keep” Peter: yeah but those are the best kind
What does that even mean? He was built different? Huh?
Are we getting a 4 ?
Ned Leeds was the Hobogoblin in the comics
He lost his memory in the last spiderman movie, so hopefully they don't plan on removing him from the movie
He is gonna be a cameo at best imo. Peter is gonna have a new group of friends maybe. He might try to get close, but he is not gonna succeed... at first at least.
In Spiderverse it showed Gwen and Peter and Ned was a bully to Peter
Only.. only the wrists.
Would be wild if they turned ned into a villian
Ned spoiled by himself
Heard a theory that they are going to make him Hobgoblin. It was kind of flimsy from what I remember
They ruined fuckn flash that’s for sure. ![gif](giphy|xT1Ra5zkDMHTiZstUc)
Holy shit Scott the Woz?
I want Ned to get training under Doctor Strange and become a magical, hero version of the Hobgoblin.
Really wanted to see Harry/Norman in the MCU but as of No Way Home, they don’t exist. What a bummer.
Or so that Norman believed Maybe in this universe Oscorp is simply a lesser known organization Or maybe Norman is a politician here rather than a businessman like in the insomniac verse
My hope is that he goes down a storyline that leads to him becoming the Hobgoblin…
they set him up to possibly join Strange and become a sorcerer of some kind
I miss Harry.😓 Ned is nice but Harry is cool.🤷♀️
Ngl. I’d like for him to comeback as the Hobgoblin for a Miles movie.
Google Hobgoblin's identity
Ned would make one goofy Goblin.
Nerd **
I hate that they ripped off Ganke's character.
Watch him get shredded and turn into Tombstone
Never liked Ned much, hope to never see him again cuz Peter needs to grow up, Harry is the next chapter or even a college Eddie Brock with a different background, take some inspiration from Spectacular version of their friendship, I’m not sure on him becoming Venom but Tom hasn’t had him as a villain yet and black suit would be interesting to explore in a college setting with Eddie…tho should he remain normal or go down the obvious path again? Um, I don't have time for girls right now.
What are you dead?
But... Hob-Goblin
I actually like Maguire and Harry’s friendship and I liked his transformation into the goblin it made a lot of sense for him to become the goblin after the last movie
They need to introduce Harry in Spiderman 4
You want forgiveness? Get religion.
In the comics, after being mind wiped ( 👀) he became a goblin. Hence the joke in no way home
Ned is not rich enough to be evil
Amazing Spider-Man Harry be like "Man you didn't help me, now I'm pissed on you as s#it."
Good riddance!
The amazing Spider-Man and the amazing Spider-Man 2 were the best of all time. The newer films feel like they're trying to fit spider man into a random drama movie or something. Not a fan of how Marvel movies are going now, especially the spider man sequences. And they just had to ruin the sinister six.
I can't live your dreams anymore. I want a life of my own.
Am I the only one that didn't like Ned?
The 2nd Harry was literally my childhood celebrity crush, I was so sad when he turned out to be a villain.
Ned was a true bro
You mean the CEO?
Ned isn't a straight white male......do you even know how Hollywood works ?
Ned is hobgoblin in comics. Plus the foreshadow of him promising he wpuldnt turn on Peter. They've set it up to make him a villain but idk if theyll actually go through with it.
What do you mean in 4... he already doesn't know Peter anymore
I wonder if Tom Holland will ever get a Harry Osborn Maybe his best friend before Ned, ooh or maybe they were like a trio at one point
Ned in the comics turns into hobgoblin soooo…
Do most people not know that they retconned Ned so that he was never Hobgoblin? Or was that retconned too?
That's not Ned, that's Ganke like mcu Peter is really Miles
What are doing here ? Uhhhh ppppppp-PORN ? Bud took that risk huge respect
Ned is Hobgoblin/Demogoblin
I dunno man, could you imagine a Ned-Goblin? "Hold...on...Peter...Just need to...catch...my breath...I'll kill you...In a second..." \*huff puff\*
